Pheromone Collision Chapter 68

Chapter 68

Jiang Li recalled the fear of being dominated by twenty tubes of nutritional supplements: “Inhibitors work quite well.”

Honestly, after two months of sharing meals and living together, Cen Lang, on the one hand, was going crazy from restraint, and on the other hand, he was exceptionally well-nourished; even the morning military dog couldn’t keep up with him.

Is it insane to go to the seemingly unresponsive underground city at this time? Other places might still exercise restraint.

Cen Lang: “I promise not to let you drink military-grade nutritional supplements.” Jiang Li fell silent, wondering the significance of such a promise.

“The underground city is too far, and I can’t stay away for too long at night; the kid will cry,” Jiang Li presented as a strong reason. Cen Lang responded, “He cries when you leave the room; one night away won’t be noticed. Just put a pillow on the bed to make it look occupied.” Jiang Li doubted, “Is it that easy to fool him?”

Cen Lang insisted, “Try it, and you’ll know. Go once, okay? Other couples celebrate their one-year anniversary; can’t we?”

“Are you sure what you’re thinking about is our one-year anniversary?” It clearly was an indescribable anniversary.

Cen Lang asserted, “Dr. Xiao Jiang, your mind is wandering.”

“Is it?”

Unable to resist Cen Lang’s excuse for a “one-year anniversary,” Jiang Li reluctantly agreed. “I’ll pack my things.” Some disinfectants were necessary.

Cen Lang insisted, “No need.”

Jiang Li said, “Then I won’t go.”

“I’m already prepared; everything you want is there,” Cen Lang assured.

Jiang Li fell silent for a moment, realising that even without his susceptible period, they were still going to spend their one-year anniversary in the underground city. It seemed more and more like a trap.

However, Jiang Li wondered if Cen Lang’s storm syndrome could be better controlled and if the frequency of intimacy could bring improvement. He kept this thought to himself, feeling somewhat awkward about a researcher attempting to address medical issues through intimacy. Jiang Li applied the restraint patch and finished dinner with a sense of unease.

After calming the little one to sleep, Jiang Li’s cheeks flushed, hesitantly telling his father, “Dad, tonight I want to go out with Cen Lang.”

Seeing the restraint patch on his son’s neck, Jiang Wanlan felt complex emotions and replied, “Okay.”

An automatic monitoring system was installed above the baby’s crib; if the child engaged in risky behaviour, it would alert the adults. Jiang Wanlan decided to sleep in Jiang Li’s room that night to help keep watch.

Despite the distance, Cen Lang piloted the aircraft with a commanding presence, reaching the underground city in just ten minutes.

The entrance was pitch-black, and Jiang Li saw the taciturn leader of the security team again, minus Wang Wang.

Fortunately, without Wang Wang, Jiang Li discreetly raised his mask a bit higher; otherwise, the security team leader would surely address her warmly as “Madam” and say things that would make Jiang Li feel socially dead.

Cen Lang pressed something at the entrance, and suddenly the entire underground passage brightened, resembling a corridor leading to an underwater crystal palace. Cen Lang held his hand, saying, “Lights have been installed; this time, you won’t walk alone in the dark.”

One year ago, Jiang Li nervously stood here, without family, in poverty, carrying the psychological burden of stage fright, and opened this unknown door.

He encountered Cen Lang, plucking the brightest star.

One year ago, Cen Lang was trapped in the sunless underground city, enduring endless storms of pain and almost thinking his life had reached its end. Jiang Li appeared here, like a bright moon rushing towards him.

A year later, Cen Lang rearranged the underground city; the long corridor resembled a sparkling Milky Way, with shimmering waves and the moon cradled within. Walking to the innermost part of the passage, Cen Lang stopped and said to Jiang Li, “Push it open and take a look.” Jiang Li reached out, and the door opened even more smoothly than the last time.

To his surprise, it looked like a wedding scene with romantic flowers, festive red candles, heaps of candy, a wedding platform covered with a carpet, and even a crystal chandelier.

“Look to the left,” Cen Lang reminded.

Jiang Li turned around, noticing a guest registration table, but unlike others, it was filled with various hand sanitizers, packaged quite charmingly. In front were the regular ones, while taller containers at the back held disinfectants like potassium permanganate solution.

Cen Lang pumped some sanitizer onto his hands, saying, “Attending Dr. Xiao Jiang’s wedding, must sanitize.”

Jiang Li’s eyes lit up, “Absolutely.”

No wonder Cen Lang said they had everything Jiang Li wanted; the sanitizers were impressively comprehensive. Jiang Li glanced at Cen Lang, thinking, “I might have misunderstood.”

Jiang Li asked, “How long ago was this set up?”

Judging by the priceless crystal chandelier above, it was no overnight effort. The once cold and metallic underground setting was now filled with pink bubbles.

Cen Lang replied, “Three months ago.” He started organizing it upon returning from the Star of Pursuit, even though he had to go on another business trip later. The designer did a great job.

Jiang Li, with a fear of public speaking, found it hard to imagine being the center of a wedding. Yet, Cen Lang wanted to give Dr. Xiao Jiang a wedding, even if it was just the two of them.

Cen Lang cautiously asked about Jiang’s acceptance of the wedding, revealing a ring box with a smirk, “I haven’t proposed yet.” Despite no proposal, he enjoyed all privileges generously given by Jiang Li.

“For experiments, I can’t wear a ring. Occasionally is fine.” Cen Lang presented a plain ring and a diamond ring with a pigeon blood red ruby covering half the finger.

“Mr. Jiang Li, would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?” Cen Lang asked while putting the rings on. Jiang Li thought, the underground city does have its traps, and he fell into one.

“I do,” Jiang Li replied.

Cen Lang smiled, pushing both rings onto their fingers, then kissed Jiang Li at the corner of his lips.

“Well… the wedding is about to begin.”

Cen Lang held Jiang Li’s hand, approaching a rack of clothes, “For the formal suit, which one do you like?”

Searching, Jiang Li found no suits, only an array of luxurious robes. Out of options, it seemed.

Cen Lang coughed, “Wear the suit when we leave, darling. Let’s head straight to our bridal process.”

Jiang Li looked ahead; the once stiff bed was now soft and comfortable. A red sheet with a gold border hung down, and the wool carpet was pure white.

The bed is on a platform in the center.

Jiang Li hesitated, whispering, “Aren’t you afraid of falling off the bed?” Cen Lang replied, “Even if you fall, it’s only 20 centimeters high, and there’s a wool carpet.” It was just a mattress without a proper bed frame. Jiang Li was unreasonable, “Too high.”

Cen Lang teased, “Do you prefer being on the floor then? How about rolling from the entrance—”

Jiang Li covered his mouth, “Not that high, okay.”

Cen Lang removed Jiang’s restraint patch, which was already useless. Jiang Li’s odorless pheromones had long breached the strongest Alpha’s defense.

The entire underground city smelled like disinfectant, so potent that Jiang Li felt he didn’t need to disinfect again, creating an illusion of complete sterilization. Suddenly, Jiang Li realized that Cen Lang’s pheromones were not just for Omega needs but also a clever way to escape the obsession with cleanliness.

Willingly, Jiang Li was deceived, briefly forgetting his own cleanliness obsession. Well, no matter how adverse the conditions, as long as it was Cen Lang.

Because I like you a lot too.

End of part one.
