Chapter 71 2/2
Jiang Li woke up, washed up, and walked to his dad’s villa. The longevity noodles were ready with chopped green onions and two golden fried eggs. Seeing his dad, Little Jiang Wangxing immediately reached out for a hug.
Jiang Li happily heard his son crisply say, “Dad.” Normally, the boy would mumble, but today’s greeting was clear. Jiang Li delightedly said, “Say ‘Dad’ again.” Little Jiang Wangxing: “Dad.”
Jiang Li said, “Call another ‘Dad.'” Little Jiang Wangxing casually repeated, “Dad, Dad…”
Cen Lang wiped his hands and took charge. “Let Jiang Dad eat first.”
Jiang Li: “Aren’t you all having breakfast?” Cen Lang scooped up three bowls of failed longevity noodles. “Come, let’s finish these.”
Jiang Li saw the uneven noodles in everyone’s bowls and realised they were handmade with love. He lifted the bowl, appreciating the effort.
“Dad.” Little Jiang Wangxing looked eager, reaching for Jiang Li’s clothes.
“You have formula milk.” Cen Lang handed the bottle to the little one. Jiang Wangxing had good grip strength and could hold his own bottle, freeing up the adults’ hands. Jiang Wanlan smiled and said, “Let’s eat. Those with noodles, eat noodles. Those with milk, drink milk.”
Cen Lang got distracted while observing Jiang Li’s profile. Chefs often enjoyed seeing customers’ reactions, and Jiang Li eating noodles was a sight to behold.
“Ah, be careful,” Jiang Wanlan reminded softly.
In a moment of distraction, the little one dropped the bottle, climbed on Jiang Li’s thigh, and grabbed a long noodle from the bowl, swiftly emptying it.
Due to the cooled soup, Cen Lang dared to be so close to the bowl.
Jiang Li: “Jiang Wangxing.”
The little one paused, realising the noodle he just licked was hot.
Cen Lang blushed as the boy played with the noodle, sliding it between his chubby feet.
Extending his hand, he offered the noodle to his dad, saying, “Dad.”
Cen Lang: “If you want to eat, do it yourself. Be brave and responsible.”
Jiang Wangxing?
Jiang Li took the noodle from his son and said, “Don’t grab noodles from the bowl.” This incident made him realise that only the noodles in his bowl seemed easily digestible.
Land Jing was the first to finish. Taking the little one, he said, “Let’s go; watch the black wind eat outside.”
Jiang Wangxing: “Mm!”
Jiang Li wanted to share his bowl of noodles with Cen Lang.
Cen Lang: “You can’t share.”
Jiang Li: “I can’t finish it anyway.”
Cen Lang: “I can eat what you leave.”
Jiang Li: “Alright.”
After finishing the longevity noodles, Cen Lang took Jiang Li to the medical lab to see their parents.
The little one seemed to know that calling “Dad” made his dad happy. He kept calling this dad, then the driver dad, even in the lab.
Less than a year old, the little one didn’t understand his grandparents were in hibernation, and Cen Lang didn’t bother teaching him. He coldly said, “Teach yourself when they wake up.”
Sensing his dad’s unhappiness, the little one called “Dad” as if coaxing.
Jiang Li reminded me, “The registration office is open. You said today’s a good day and wanted to be the first to get the marriage certificate.”
Cen Lang: “I sent Wang Wang to queue for a number overnight.”
Jiang Li: “…” quite a straightforward way to secure a number.
Cen Lang teased, “What, do you think I’d use connections for our marriage? That wouldn’t be pure.”
Jiang Li:
However, at the registration office, despite agreeing not to use connections, someone still sponsored turning the somewhat old office into a luxurious venue, offering a sign outside saying, “Get married today; receive a deluxe interstellar couple’s trip.”
This attracted a crowd for certificate registration.
Wang Wang was the first in line, waving, “Sir, madam, I’m here.”
With masks on, Jiang Li and Cen Lang, engrossed in each other, were not recognized. The little one became the centre of attention. He wasn’t shy, acting like a little diplomatic envoy and drawing attention away from Jiang Li whenever someone looked at him.
Wang Wang, loaded with wedding candies, had the little one sitting in the candy-filled cart, handing out candies. The shiny candy wrappers caught everyone’s eye.
“Is this the mascot sent by the Federation?” “So cute.”
“Oh no, it’s a new type of scam targeting crowds!” “Ah, they fooled me into having a child again!”
The atmosphere for those getting married that day was lively. Jiang Li not only got married to the one he loved, but he also vicariously experienced others’ newlywed happiness along the way, doubling the joy.
As they walked out with the certificates, Jiang Li realised it was all part of Cen Lang’s plan.
Cen Lang put the two new marriage certificates in his pocket and thought for a moment, “Seems like all the important things are done. Dinner is in the evening; free time now. Let’s take the little one for vaccinations.”
Jiang Li checked the baby’s vaccination record on his phone and said, “Sure.”
Jiang Wangxing:?
