Chapter 76 2/2
“Even when Dad goes on a business trip to space, he drinks nutritional supplements,” Jiang Li explained some food and nutritional knowledge to the little one.
“Food is precious; if we waste it, we can only drink supplements,” he added.
Little one: “No rice or milk today, huh?”
Jiang Li: “Yes.”
The whole family drinks nutritional supplements; even Little Jiang gazes at the stars while holding a bottle. Jiang Wanlan suggests switching to grape juice, but the little one insists, “If Dad drinks it, I want to drink it too.”
The bottle is held all afternoon and finally empties at night.
Returning the bottle, the little one hugs Jiang Li, saying, “Dad and Grandpa work so hard.”
Jiang Li: “Hmm?”
Little one: “When I grow up, I’ll work and drink supplements with Hei Feng, and Dad can eat at home.”
Jiang Li: “Sure.”
That night, the usually difficult eater enjoys the meal.
Cen Lang: “I told you, kids skip a meal, and they’re good.”
Jiang Li: “And how do you feed children?”
Cen Lang: “Not much…”
Jiang Li: “Wang Wang has recruited you.”
Cen Lang: “…”
Not his words; even Wang Wang doesn’t have Black Wind’s determination.
Jiang Li: “Are you returning to the space forces the day after tomorrow?”
Cen Lang: “Just for ten days. Tomorrow is your birthday and our wedding anniversary. Can I not sleep in the study?”
Jiang Li: “Have you ever slept in the study?”
Every morning, the one who claimed to sleep in the study was beside him.
Cen Lang: “Little Jiang, I found something in the study. Care to explain?”
Jiang Li: “What?”
Cen Lang pulls out a small ledger: “So every time I treat you to a meal, you keep a record to repay me?”
Tomatoes, pickled fish, all accounted for. Jiang Li, nearly forgetting, had kept track when he considered cutting ties with Cen Lang.
Cen Lang, realizing Jiang Li kept accounts while he fed him, finds it both amusing and touching.
Approaching Dr. Jiang’s heart isn’t easy; he hitched a ride on a little one’s bandwagon.
“If you’ve kept a record, then let’s settle it.”
“Darling, before my business trip, just settle one bill, not much, right?”
Jiang Li: “I prefer to settle with money.”
On the way to collect top-tier Alpha pheromones, he had so many meals courtesy of Cen Lang that repaying seemed impossible.
Cen Lang: “I won’t take it.”
Jiang Li: “Didn’t anyone tell you not to bring up old accounts after marriage?”
“Bringing it up on our anniversary, do you not want to celebrate?”
Cen Lang: “Okay, I’ll bring it up another time.”
Jiang Ping: “You have to have dinner with Dad.”
Cen Lang feels the downside of anniversary coinciding with a birthday.
This day isn’t just for Dr. Jiang.
…
Little Jiang Wanxing prepares a birthday gift for Dad.
“Wang Wang Uncle, help me open the iodine.”
Wang Wang, puzzled: “Can’t drink it.”
Little one: “I won’t drink it.”
He opens his arms, gesturing: “I want to become Dad’s most favorite baby!”
Wang Wang: ?
The connection between iodine and a good baby?
Soon, he understands—disinfection.
Dipping cotton, the little one earnestly applies iodine to his chubby arms.
He does it so seriously, eyelashes lowered, that Wang Wang sees a mini Dr. Jiang disinfecting.
Maybe the talent for disinfection is hereditary? Wang Wang notices the steady hands and envisions future surgical skills.
A little on the arm won’t hurt, easily wiped away with a towel.
Like father, like son; maybe Dr. Jiang does like it!
Thinking this, the little one spills the iodine on the floor, quickly patting it on his face.
The fair complexion turns slightly yellow.
Little Jiang Wanxing imitates Dad applying cream in winter.
Wanting to apply more iodine, Wang Wang stops him: “Kid, you’re already Dr. Jiang’s favorite.”
Little one: “Uncle Wang Wang, tell the truth.”
Wang Wang: “…”
Truth is, the original look is more favored.
When Lu Jing returns for his son’s birthday, his first sight is his “tanned” grandson.
Being a dad, Cen Lang is a bit ruthless, training his not-yet-two-year-old son as a reserve special forces soldier every day, covered in mud with Jiang Li.
Doesn’t anyone in this family find it inappropriate?
Lu Jing frowns, glimpses Cen Lang leisurely watering outside, puts the suitcase at the door, “Wang Wang, watch over Wanxing.”
He walks toward Cen Lang: “Practice with me.”
Don’t use my grandson for practice.
Cen Lang: ?
Did his father-in-law only now remember their marriage registration and feel uneasy?
Alright, ready to accompany him anytime!
