Chapter 8 2/2
“Lin’s father was startled and immediately leaned over, pressing Lin Lu along with him towards the front of the car.
“Creating trouble in the middle of the night! Damn it!” The driver, also a hot-tempered Alpha, grabbed the father and son and threw them to the ground.
Lin’s father was jolted awake, still groggy. He vaguely thought that going to jail might be a good idea, considering his safety.
…
Dorm 505.
Gu Yunkai pushed open the door and was startled by the dog in the dorm.
“What the hell, who brought this in? Did Jiang Li agree?”
“It’s me!” Li Ruiyun bounced out from the bathroom. “I just brought it for a while, grabbing something and leaving. My girlfriend’s dog, regularly dewormed, just finished grooming at the pet store. Smell it; does it smell good? Jiang Li is not here now; don’t tell him a dog came in.”
Gu Yunkai looked at the well-behaved dog, its fur clean and fluffy, and patted it. “You’re doing well, living together and even raising a dog.”
Li Ruiyun said, “She agreed to move out just to raise a dog. She doesn’t care about anything; she leaves everything to me. She even gave me a task to train it.”
“Come on, Maomao, follow commands; perform for Uncle Gu.”
“Sit.”
“Ha ha, quite obedient.”
Jiang Li slept until night, without a dream. After the support of the nutrient supplements dissipated, the expected soreness arrived late.
“Hiss—” Jiang Li got up halfway, pain forcing him to lie back down.
“Huh? Jiang Li, are you here?” Gu Yunkai was surprised. Jiang Li, the academic overachiever, was never in bed at this hour.
Afraid of being noticed by his roommate, Jiang Ping gritted his teeth, sat up, still groggy, and looked at the two people and the dog under the bed.
Seeing Jiang Li’s gaze, Li Ruiyun quickly explained, “My Maomao is a dog with strong self-control.”
“Sit.”
“Down.”
“At ease.”
Li Ruiyun showed off, opened a sausage, placed it in front of the dog, and commanded, “Don’t move.”
The golden retriever showed some intelligence, staring at the sausage with longing, but didn’t eat it.
Gu Yunkai joked, “Isn’t this more impressive than some Alphas who prey on vulnerable Omegas during their heat?”
Li Ruiyun proudly said, “Jiang Li, have you ever trained a dog? Want to give it a try? This dog is even more obedient when it sees a top student like you.”
Jiang Li just forced himself to sit up; in fact, he hadn’t processed anything he saw or heard. He could only give a simple response.
This scene collided with his memories, and Jiang Li, in a daze, said, “Ah, I have trained one.”
“Really!” Li Ruiyun was surprised. With Jiang’s academic prowess, his dog could soon learn arithmetic.
Startled by this question, Jiang Li woke up, and his mind instantly rebooted. He stuttered, “I was mistaken; I can’t.”
Li Ruiyun was a bit disappointed, threw the sausage into the dog’s mouth, and said, “Well, then I’ll take it away. Goodbye, bro.”
Gu Yunkai, seeing he had a lot to move, said, “I’ll help you; the car is downstairs, right?”
“Yes, thanks.”
The dormitory opened and closed, becoming quiet.
Jiang Li felt sorry for misspeaking, his hands hanging on the bed, sinking into a long silence.
He remembered to freshen up before going to bed. For some embarrassing reason, he didn’t clean himself as thoroughly as when washing an Alpha in the morning.
Perhaps because he couldn’t wash it away, he tried hard to remove what the Alpha left on him.
Jiang Li struggled to get out of bed, his fingers gripping the edge of the bed. As soon as his right foot stepped on the floor, his whole body froze.
“It’s okay; it can be washed away.”
Jiang Li comforted himself.
When he checked his whole body during the shower, Jiang Li felt no guilt for his previous slip of the tongue.
The self-control of an Alpha was even worse than that of a dog.
…
Cen Lang earnestly explained his analysis and conclusions to the old man, drinking two cups of water during the process.
“Are you dehydrated?” Cen Wei wondered, then said, “Are you saying you’re cured by just five thousand yuan from the Cen family?”
“I can’t be sure it’s because of the caregiver; he’s just a beta. I didn’t smell any other pheromones. It could be that I got through it on my own.”
“Whether it is or not, we have to find him.”
“You have needle marks on your neck. Did they draw blood from you?” Cen Lang loosened his collar, and Cen Wei noticed several needle marks on his neck. “Or did he inject something into you?”
Cen Lang raised his hand to touch his neck. Since dealing with matters until now, he hadn’t seriously looked in the mirror.
“I don’t feel anything.”
“Go to the hospital for an examination immediately.”
“Today, I’m tired. Let’s talk about it tomorrow. I know my body well, and you should rest early too.”
Cen Wei couldn’t force him, so he said, “Go early tomorrow and have peace of mind.”
“Okay.”
After seeing off his grandfather, Cen Lang unbuckled his belt, walked toward the bathroom, and paused in front of the mirror, carefully examining the scabbed red dots on his neck.
“They pierced quite deeply.”
He hadn’t seriously considered this until now. It wasn’t fatal, so he didn’t need to worry.
Not even two seconds into his relief, Cen Lang’s expression slightly stiffened, looking complexly at a certain important part of his body.
His pheromone research team had studied it for twenty years, but no one told him that a pheromone storm could cause discoloration of the skin in a certain area.
It seemed like excessive use.
Cen Lang decided to take back the words “I know my body well.” It couldn’t be delayed; he had to seek medical attention.
He called to arrange the activation of the aircraft, then stepped into the bathtub with mixed feelings to take a shower.
Huh?
Wait a minute?
Cleaned up?
Unhealthy color disappeared?
“…”
Cen Lang didn’t know what to think. He rubbed his underwear in the water, and even the clear water changed color, becoming darker.
It turned out that the underwear was fading.
“Here’s a joke: Cen Lang’s underwear is fading.”
He didn’t believe this joke.
Cen Lang bit his lip, stared at the black underwear, and suddenly remembered that what he placed in the underground city wasn’t prepared by the Cen family, but what he brought back from the space force. The combat uniform was more comfortable and flexible, but also rougher. It wouldn’t do to wear high-end suits with uncontrollable pheromones.
This pair of underwear came from the Space Force clothing factory.
Someone took kickbacks to purchase inferior fabrics, indirectly harming federal military security.
Heh, a serious crime.
