Shen Yi finally managed to catch the last red double-decker bus to the cafe.
On the bus, beside the silent driver, he was the only passenger.
After sitting comfortably, he looked outside the window. The sky was already turned dark, and the lights were lit up in the houses and streets.
The Beland Imperial College was located in a prospering area so the street lights were much brighter compared to his cafe area.
People were also living happier, perhaps.
He could disclose the information of the Quiet Word to the Anti-Magic Bureau so that they could go door-to-door to arrest people and put an end to the upcoming sacrifice of the whole city.
Although it wasn’t clear what the Quiet Word was up to, since they were going to use Belande as a sacrifice, according to the book, they would kill everyone before the summoning officially started.
He did not want to die at the hands of the cultists, nor did he want to see the entire city piled up with corpses after he walked out of the summoning site.
As the saying goes, if you couldn’t beat them, you could report them, and for the cult, there was no need to say anything about morality.
That being the case, he had to wait for George or Su Ling to come to the door. As far as he could remember, George frequented the coffee shop frequently.

Returning to the cafe, he took a shower and changed into clean clothes.
By the time everything was done, it was completely dark.
Just as he was about to close the cafe, he saw Aina’s little figure walking in. She was still as she was last time, wearing a delicate velvet black robe, with a small crystal bottle pendant hanging around her neck.
Four men in black robes followed her in from outside.
With a glance, he recognized them: they were all members of the Chaos Remnant Order and was somewhat taken aback.
When the second time he was summoned as the Lord of Ashes, he had seen Chaos Embers Cultists who knelt on the ground on the first few rows and then lay on the ground.
Their styles of clothing were all uniform and standard, so there was no way for him to mistake them.
From Aina’s expression, he could see that she didn’t like the black-robed followers who followed her, they were more like watchers than escorts.
He was absolutely right, the four members were all the high priest’s cronies, and they were escorting Aina at his request.
On the one hand, the high priest felt that Aina was becoming more and more uncontrolled and had to be watched.
On the other hand, this was the girl that the extraterrestrial God wanted to live with. In case she wanders around and gets lost or dead, the Order would be completely over.
Aina walked straight up to Shen Yi.
And politely told him what the Order was about to do.
“We have begun preparations, and the new offering will take place the following night. The Chaos Remnant Order will offer the gift wholeheartedly to the great, and I have come to inform you in advance before the sacrifice begins.”
~It turns out that she came to me to say this.
‘It was the equivalent of a department head reporting the progress of the work to the manager …… But I happen to be the chairman of the board.’
Shen Yi was not much surprised, just nodded a little and said in a calm tone. “You have done a very good job, and the great He will be pleased.”
Thought of something he suddenly said. “Just before the sacrifice begins, I would like to confirm, on behalf of the Great One, whether your sacrifices are qualified or they will offend the Great One.”
His reason for asking was very simple: he wanted to completely rule out the possibility that the one who “wanted to sacrifice Beland” was a Chaos Remnant.
Aina nodded and answered truthfully, without doubt: “We will sacrifice an exotic magical fruit, which comes from the black southern ocean, growing in the bottomless abyss that does not see the sun all day long, a black fruit of incredible power that will definitely satisfy the great Lord of Ashes.”
After listening to this, Shen Yi breathed a sigh of relief there was no need for Aina to deceive him, and now he was completely convinced that the order which wanted to destroy the city was Quiet Words.
Aina kept staring at the god messenger in front of her in wonder. Every time she approached him, her back would heat up, this feeling was completely real.
Unlike many of us, he was the messenger of God and the closest to the Lord of Ashes.
She was very curious about such an existence in her heart but didn’t dare to say more for fear that her snooping would provoke him.
“We’ll get everything ready.” she just ended.
With that, she left the cafe with Chaos Embers members.
Shen Yi watched her back until she disappeared with the congregants, then immediately locked the cafe door with a calm face.
After that, he first hand-brewed a cup of coffee, then went back to the backroom, and took out a pen and notebook.
“I didn’t expect the next summons to be so soon. After a two-month break, the schedule is suddenly lined up again.”
He jotted down today’s event briefly in his notebook.
There were so many things that happened today, and the records were so detailed that they could not be regarded as information but rather as a one-day diary.
“I can’t believe I started keeping a diary.”
Having written everything down, he tucked the notebook back into the drawer.
Before he knew it, it was already past twelve o’clock.
After a busy day, he was both mentally and physically exhausted, he collapsed on his bed and fell asleep within minutes, the first few days of sleeplessness were completely gone.
**
The day after tomorrow soon came.
Over the past two days, Shen Yi’s experience was entirely different from the past, and he felt the calm and serenity of daily life.
He had always dreamed of a peaceful life.
Even though he knew he was going to be summoned by the Order again at night, he didn’t feel nervous at all and even had a little anticipation.
“What exactly is the fruit that Aina is talking about? I have not heard of it at all, and I don’t know what it is used for.”
He only had a vague image of the fruit mentioned by Aina.
On the one hand, he had too little knowledge of mysticism, and on the other, Aina’s statement was very obscure.
Shen Yi was also very helpless. ‘Why can’t they speak more straightforwardly and simply?’
The rain was a little lighter today, and more than a dozen guests came to the cafe one after another.
With a polite smile, he welcomed each guest and made coffee for people, who also enjoyed their leisurely time there.
Regular customers began to pour into the cafe, drinking coffee and unwinding, and one of the female students who came often took the initiative to discuss her life, her worries with Shen Yi.
Today, she made her best friend sitting at the front table annoyed, and the matter seemed to be a big problem in the sky for her.
Shen Yi responds politely to the girl with a smile on his face, but always felt a sense of alienation.
“This is a peaceful life…”
Sometimes Shen Yi even had the illusion that he may be crossed over to just an ordinary parallel world and that everything he was experiencing was nothing more than a delusion.
However, when he saw the transit ring in his hand, he knew all the experiences he had during that time were real, and the people of this city were about to meet their doom.
They did not know about it.
Still as busy as the ants in their nests, strive for a small life and worry about getting a bit of food.
Without knowing that the flood was about to come, it would turn all the known worlds and care and treasure upside down.
Who can know tomorrow?
Only he knows tomorrow.
In this way, the leisure and calm day quickly passed, and the sky outside the window gradually darkened.
He took out his phone and looked at the time.
July 5, 23:55.
“The summoning time for the appeal is almost here.”
He closed the door of the cafe in advance, turned off all the lights, and sat down on the window seat in the darkness.
There was a cup of slightly hot coffee on the table in front of him. Listening to the rain outside, he waited calmly for the call.
Time ticked slowly. He took sips of coffee while waiting for the call.
The rainstorm seemed to have subsided a little, his ears were no longer filled with the sound of rain, and it was more and more quiet around him in the darkness as if the world were awed by the darkness.
A bolt of lightning flashed the sky!
“What happened to the summon?”
Repicking up the cup, he discovered that the coffee had already been consumed. With a frown he turned on the phone, and the time on it was about to come to one o’clock.
Shen Yi was incomprehensible and confused, he couldn’t understand why the summoning hadn’t come yet.
There was neither any vibration nor a weird ringing sound. He didn’t feel anything in his mind.
Obviously, the Order made an appointment with Aina and the “God Envoy” for the sacrifice, but suddenly there were unknown variables.
There must be problem with the Chaos Remnant Order to solve.
A real feeling of unease crept up the spine; he seemed to suddenly be in an unfamiliar environment, and there seemed to be voices in the darkness that mocked him, presuming to easily control the whole situation.
Slowly rising to his feet, he once again experienced the uneasiness of clarity.
The call did not come as expected.
