Aina was only awake for just a short while, soon her excessive exhaustion made her drift off to sleep again.
The night passed quickly, soon came the Morning.
As the faint light of morning approached, Aina slowly awake from her sleep, her small body moving around in bed for a little while, obviously not willing to get up immediately.
Staying in bed was a privilege that only a happy person could have, and She had not had such an experience for a long time.
But she didn’t end up lying in bed for long and slowly sat up.
With her two fair little feet on the floor, Aina stood in front of a mirror in the room and carefully observed herself in a large white bath towel.
The wounds… they’re all gone…
She removed half of her white bath towel and stood in front of the mirror, and observed herself while shaking her fair left arm.
The fracture was healed, and it didn’t hurt at all.
She said to herself, “It was God’s Messenger who cured me.”
Aina’s admiration and gratitude for Shen Yi had rose several points.
She rewrapped the white bath towel and curiously looked around the cottage.
It was completely different from the place where she imagined Lord God’s Envoy lived.
In Aina’s imagination, the place where the envoy lived must be full of white clouds, a huge palace, and there were also many rainbow-colored unicorns.
“So, it turns out that Lord God Envoy lives here, disguised as a human being.”
Then, after looking around, she stepped out of the room, and saw that Lord Evony was sitting on a chair and calmly looking outside the window.
Aina walked over and stood aside to Shen Yi to express her gratitude.
“Thank you.”
“Did you stay awake all last night?”
After the words were spoken, Aina felt that she was stupid. The other party was a divine envoy. Maybe, unlike humans, he did not need to sleep.
Indeed Shen Yi did not sleep all night, also drank plenty of coffee, and went to the restroom several times.
One reason was that he was worried about the enemy breaking the door, and the other was —— there was only one single bed in the house, and if he wanted to sleep the two people would have to squeeze them together.
Shen Yi shook his head and said. “It doesn’t matter if I didn’t sleep all night.”
~So the Lord God’s Envoy also needs to sleep?
Aina thought about this and suddenly realized that she didn’t seem to know anything about Lord God’s Envoy.
What kind of person is he?
“Let’s eat.”
Shen Yi led Aina to the table, where a series of breakfasts had long been arranged, milk, poached eggs, bread, scones, sausages, grilled chicken nuggets, and breakfast tea.
Although Nolan was most famous for fish and chips, people won’t usually go out to eat them in the morning.
Aina covered her stomach and stared at the food on the table, obviously very hungry.
“Sit.”
Shen Yi smiled and pointed to the chair, his breakfast was a little different from hers, just a bowl of simple egg-fried rice.
To be honest, in his eyes, the Nolan diet was tragic.
The purity of “delicious” was too low.
However, he was not sure if the little girl could eat Chinese food, so he made her a standard Nolan breakfast.
The cafe again put up the “closed” sign.
It was closed not only for Aina’s problem, but the current cafe was really unable to operate.
The glass door was completely shattered, all night he sat at the door guarding while holding the kitten, but he never found the man who broke the door, still less waiting for the enemy to come.
Of course, he did not find the monster, though he did hear it howling.
It seemed to disappear out of thin air, and the second half of the night was left with the kitten’s meowing.
The short kitten was quite well-behaved and never moved much in his arms, even turning over to let him rub on its belly.
It was also the first time that Shen Yi encounter a stray cat who let the person rub his belly as soon as they met.
“Thank you.”
Aina respectively bowed to Shen Yi before she cautiously moved to the table and picked up her knife and fork.
Her body was a little stiff as she ate, afraid that she might accidentally offend the divine evony.
“Don’t be nervous.” Shen Yi smiled and comforted.
He watched Aina eat little by little and finally finished only a third of it and said she was full.
Shen Yi couldn’t help but think of Su Ling, the difference between the two girls’ meals was simply heaven and earth.
He nodded and said, “Tell me everything you knew last night.”
“Yes, Lord God Envoy.”
Aina nodded her head again and again, and she immediately stepped out of the chair like an elementary school student called by her homeroom teacher and started reporting on what happened last night.
As Shen Yi listened silently, he gradually understood what happened last night.
He was suddenly stunned when he heard it at the end and always felt that the last monster Aina saw sounded a little familiar, there was a sense of resemblance as if it was when Byron summoned…
He immediately went to the backroom to rummage for matchboxes.
“It’s broken.”
After opening the matchbox his face changed, the seed of chaos placed inside really disappeared.
The kitten also trotted in with Shen Yi, raising its head curiously, as if wondering what this human being was doing.
Shen Yi returned to his seat in a complicated mood, and Aina’s voice once again reached his ears.
“I want to talk to you about the Order.”
Aina’s face was a bit hesitant as she said, “I have experienced a lot during this time and have been reflecting on it, and It seems that some of the things the high priest and I said are not completely wrong.”
“Even though I know the Order needed to change, I understand that many things are more complicated than I thought.”
She paused and continued: “The Order must exist, otherwise the basic life of the orphanage cannot be maintained, and with many adults associated with the Order, things are very complicated.”
Having said this, Aina said firmly: “However, I will absolutely prohibit the sacrifice and involuntary transformation of living people.”
Shen Yi smiled and said, “It seems like you’ve been through a lot.”
Aina nodded, with a somewhat bitter smile on her face, “I still don’t fully understand, just sort of figured it out some, a lot of things don’t seem to be that simple, but require power and exchange to achieve the goal.”
“If I had a longer time, I should have figured out more ……”
She thought silently that the black flame she had let out was so powerful that if she could use it skillfully, she would not be unable to fight back in times of trouble.
While she was thinking, her fair calves dangled under the table.
Shen Yi was completely calm on the surface, but inside was incredulous.
Aina was just a little girl with no formal education, but she grew up rapidly beyond ordinary people.
When he first saw her, this little girl was simply kneeling, begging, and crying, and the second time she had the courage that ordinary people didn’t have.
Now, in addition to kindness and courage, she began to think seriously about the qualities needed to be a leader and have determination.
She had grown so much in only two months, what about in two years, in five years, or even in ten years?
Shen Yi had a bit of expectation, but also a little hard to imagine. ‘Could it be that she is really some kind of blood and flesh witch?’
He still had some common sense, a normal child who was not at risk did not grow up so fast and may even develop mental disabilities as a result of childhood shadows.
But Aina’s mental growth rate was different; it was extraordinary.
But that should be a good thing …… No need to think deeply about it for now ……
He shook his head and began to think about what to do with the Quiet Word.
This incident had taught him a deep lesson.
One had to become more proactive and not be too cautious.
Although he never really wanted to set foot in the inner world, but in fact, he couldn’t get away from it.
If he had reported to the Anti-Magic Bureau immediately after getting the information of the Quiet Word, I am afraid that all the chains of events would not have happened.
Aina almost died.
She was so badly hurt that it was clearly an accident that she could escape to the café, and if it was going to repeat again I’m afraid it would not be the same.
Although he did not think “this is all my fault”, or “I must be responsible for this”, but Shen Yi still hoped that in the future he could avoid unexpected mistakes.
And he noticed that George hadn’t come to the cafe till now, so he planned to go to the anti-magic bureau by himself.
“I’m going to be away for a while.” He said softly. “You wait in the cafe.”
Aina nodded, she could feel at ease just by staying here.
No matter what the Divine Evony may say, she was willing to believe it and obey.
“Meow.”
The gray and white cat came from the side and narrowed its eyes at Aina on the chair.
Aina was stunned, unable to control her child’s nature, she left her seat, crouching down beside the kitten with a smile on her face.
She raised her head to Shen Yi and asked, “It’s so cute! What’s its name?”
“The name is ……” Shen Yi was just about to pick a random name when he suddenly felt that it was not good.
Once the name was given, it was equivalent to establishing a connection, and it seemed not easy to drive it away.
The cat rolled on the ground and exposed its belly to the ignorant human cub.
Aina was immediately carried away by it and fell in love with it.
“Coke.”
Shen Yi nodded gently and said, “Its name is ‘Coke’.”
“Meow, meow.”
Coke seemed to like the name quite a bit, lying on the ground and lightly meowing twice.
“I’m going to leave for a while, let it stay here with you.”
Shen Yi picked up the Coke with a smile and handed it to Aina.
“Hold it, it’s very well behaved, I haven’t seen a better-behaved cat than it.”
Generally speaking, letting a child hold a stray cat was not proper behavior.
But, having seen how fast Aina’s injuries recovered, as well as how fast her mental growth, so he no longer sees her as a normal girl.
Aina was full of joy as she took Coke and hugged it like a baby.
“I’ll go get something and I’ll be out in a minute.”
“Hmm.”
With that, he got up and headed to the backroom to get an umbrella.
Aina hugged the cute cat and smiled as she reached out to stroke its furry belly.
“Little kitty, so cute.”
The ‘cat’s’ mouth suddenly began to swell, and in a flash, it changed into a huge mouthpiece, the spinning fangs still filled with the smell of blood that had not yet disappeared.
Her smile froze.
“Ahhhhhhh!”
Shen Yi suddenly heard Aina’s scream and immediately ran out of the back room with an umbrella.
“What happens?”
Aina fell to the ground tremblingly, stretched out her small hand, and pointed at the cat not far away with a look of fear.
The cat was licking his feet as if he didn’t know anything.
She exclaimed: “It! It! It!”
Shen Yi immediately asked: “It just scratched you? Where is it scratched?”
Aina shook her head repeatedly: “No, it didn’t hurt me, it suddenly scared me, it just became very scary!”
After drinking a cup of coffee in the evening and a cup of breakfast tea just now, Aina, who hadn’t gone to the restroom yet, already had a clear urge to pee.
She clamped her slender legs tightly and tried her best not to pee out of fear.
Shen Yi stretched out his hand, and Coke immediately ran over and put a fleshy palm on it obediently.
“Meow.”
“Isn’t that a good boy?”
He smiled and rubbed the cat’s head, saying, “If you dare to scratch or bite her, I’ll make you into a delicious cat cake, do you understand?”
Coke nodded as if he understood it.
Aina stared dumbly at the well-behaved kitten, and since it was the pet of the Lord God’s Messenger, he naturally knew about its true identity.
~This monster… shouldn’t hurt her again, right?
She took a deep breath, and since she was on the same side as him, she had to pluck up the courage to make a good relationship with him.
Shen Yi got up with Coke in his arms and smiled, “Aina, hug it again, it’s okay.”
Aina immediately shook her head, really still scared, and shouted, “I don’t want to hug it!”
“Alright.”
Shen Yi smiled, although Aina thought a lot, but still had the naivety of a little girl in her character.
He walked to the side of the cafe and put the well-behaved little coke down.
“You guys have to get along well.”
Shen Yi opened the umbrella to leave the cafe, and the desperate Aina watched the Lord God’s Messenger leave the cafe.
~I can’t get out.
She huddled in the corner, staring at the cat who had rolled not far away that was standing up.
Coke, who was standing like a human, also aimed at her, and the two-faced each other on both sides of the cafe.
— —
The rain hadn’t stopped yet.
Shen Yi had planned to leave early in the morning, but Aina had been in bed for a while, and the final departure time came straight into the morning.
He once again got on the bus.
Shen Yi first went to the central library of the academy, found the memory pages left by Byron, and wrote down the information inside in advance.
Next, he headed to the Anti-Magic Bureau.
Shen Yi knew the specific address of the Anti-Magic Bureau. In fact, the address of their headquarters was always been public.
The Anti-Magic Bureau had been publicizing that they were legitimate judicial offices, so the name and work of the Anti-Magic Bureau in the eyes of outsiders were more common.
Investigators have already signed confidentiality agreements at their time of joining, so even their families were not aware of the real jobs of their husbands, wives, parents, and children.
They just know or didn’t know, that their loved ones were in a difficult position, often had to work overtime, and occasionally could not return for New Year’s Eve, and the only comfort was the surprisingly good benefits.
But they never knew they were fighting day and night on the front lines of “letting humans live through the cracks.”
The specific location of the Anti-Magic Bureau was not in South Bayland, but on the west side of this international metropolis, on the north bank of the Thames River, where there was Nolan Palace, the Prime Minister’s official residence, and various government departments, and the people who live here were riches and riches.
Shen Yi had been riding on the bus for a long time, and just when he was too sleepy to sleep, a sound of arrival came from his ears.
He immediately came to his senses, held up his umbrella, and staggered down the bus.
Shen Yi covered his head, and had slight dizziness: “After not sleeping all night, and haven’t eaten well, I’m starting to lose my stamina.”
He gently raised the umbrella and scanned the area.
“Here we are.”
The home base of the investigators, the place where the cultists were scandalized, where a hundred tall, strong men with crowbars and friends could be dispatched in a minute.
The headquarters of the Anti-Magic Bureau.
He had a feeling that he might come here often in the future …… to report.
