Two o’clock in the morning.
Shen Yi put on a black coat, a black hat and a threaded cane in his right hand.
He stood calmly in front of the mirror.
Black hair, brown pupils, slightly thin body.
The person reflected in the mirror has changed a lot, especially the confidence in his eyes.
He was nowhere near to the man who couldn’t sleep because of the panic when came into contact with the mysterious field a few months ago.
He knew very well that he couldn’t wait any longer, otherwise Tina might be “detonated”.
The reason why he called Su Ling was quite simple.
She was a capable person and could be trusted in all might, and when the situation came, she could take it in her own hands.
He wanted to contact George, but heard that this guy had gone to evil lands and was doing things he couldn’t do as an investigator and couldn’t come back for a while.
After taking one more glance, he walked out of the house and looked at Su Ling waiting outside the cafe.
She was still in her evening attire: a black coat, a small white sweater, a black skirt, and black leggings.
Mostly investigators wore iconic suits, neat and clean, and chose mainly black colors followed by white.
But Su Ling likes freshness, since she was going to school, she seldom wears the iconic suit.
“Mr. Shen, where do you want to go?”
Shen Yi glanced at her and said lightly, “Just follow me.”
With that, he took a step forward.
Too pretentious, Su Ling stood behind and pouted her mouth. If this guy in front of her had been someone else, she would have kicked him up.
After a few steps, he found her not following.
He turned his head and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Su Ling shook her head repeatedly and said, “It’s nothing, just a little sleepy.” She yawned and continued. “Nothing happened.”
— —
The inn.
The two quietly came into the room.
Shen Yi’s act of turning into mist made Su Ling once again grit her teeth.
The aura of the extra-worldly God was just too terrifying.
Su Ling managed to slow down and noticed a girl lying on a pink single bed.
After a careful look, her eyebrows frowned.
The girl’s two ears were actually fluffy cat ears!
“Strange.”
She was really surprised. Half-orcs were basically extinct, and could only be seen occasionally in legends and evil lands.
Why did this inn have a half-orc girl?
This was a big city densely populated by humans.
“She wasn’t like this in the first place.” While she was pondering, Shen Yi answered her unasked question from the side. “It was the ‘masterpiece’ of the Pseudo Gods, and what I had to do was to restore her to her original state.”
~The masterpiece of the pseudo-god?
Su Ling frowned, suddenly realizing what was going on.
I get it.
This might be another “fight” between great figures.
Last time, Mr. Shen’s opponent was the Quiet Word, this time his opponent was the Pseudo-God.
As for what kind of big shot the “Pseudo God” was, according to her, he was someone the Corona Church’s Saint “Light Chaser” was all out to destroy him.
Apparently not an ordinary transcendentalist.
Huh… She never thought she would be involved in the center of the vortex. In the battle of the big men… maybe it’s just the aftermath that would drive me to death.
Su Ling took a deep breath, feeling that this matter was very complicated and dangerous.
But as she glanced at the girl on the bed, she didn’t have the heart to leave it alone.
Tina on the bed had no idea about what was going on all around her and had fallen asleep long ago.
But there was cold sweat dripping out from her face, her brows kept wrinkling, her hands were clenched so tightly it was very obvious she was sleeping restlessly.
Shen Yi snapped his fingers, and white flames were released from the palms of his hands.
The tremendous pressure made Su Ling almost fall to the ground, she subconsciously glared at the man beside her, like a feline fry showing hostility.
It was only a moment before he had retracted the white flame.
He turned his head and smiled: “Sorry to have frightened you.”
After being baptized by the breath of the extra-worldly god, the ravings in Tina’s ears had disappeared.
Once again, she fell into peaceful sleep.
“Hurry up, we only have a few hours left.”
Taking out two bottles of green potions, he handed one to Su Ling instead of drinking them directly.
“Su Ling, listen to me.”
He turned around and leaned against her ear, and whispered a few words.
Su Ling subconsciously wanted to step back, but still did not do so.
She remained silent for a moment and nodded softly.
“Okay, I understand.”
She picked up a bottle of potion and drank it slowly, feeling the bitter taste flow into her throat.
A few minutes later.
On a single bed in a hotel, two women and a man were holding hands and sleeping together.
Tina slept in the middle of the bed, looking relaxed and breathing rhythmically.
Shen Yi squeezed on the left side of this bed, and Su Ling, who was already asleep, was on the right.
Outside the room.
The invisible fog gradually surged in.
The one-eyed, dark shadow crept out of the endless mist, and its golden-red pupil was particularly conspicuous.
It gazed at the second floor of the inn, as if attracted by some kind of mesmerizing spirituality.
A suppressed hiss emanated from its invisible throat, and the creature faded into the darkness.
There was a soft knock at the door of the inn.
