Fei Zhengqing’s desperate escape left everyone with complex and incredulous feelings. In the past, he was considered a god-like figure in everyone’s eyes, invincible.
But now, the god had fallen, becoming just like any mortal. They had encountered a true deity in the form of Chen Luo.
This monstrous entity, Ironhead, appeared exceptionally terrifying. With a single stomp, it could create cracks spanning dozens of meters. Yet, in front of Chen Luo, it seemed pitiful.
Chen Luo contemplated his options. While members like those under the command of Fei Zhengqing were valuable, their numbers were quite substantial. Should he accept all of them into his ranks?
Chen Luo contemplated his options. He already had over 1,500 people under his leadership, and if he were to accept all of Fei Zhengqing’s members, it would increase to 3,000.
His new base could indeed accommodate 3,000 people without any issues. However, letting them go or having another faction take them in felt like a wasted opportunity.
Ouyang Lu suggested, “These people are all quite outstanding, and Fei Zhengqing has stringent criteria for recruitment. Brother Chen, could you consider accepting them into our group?”
In a short amount of time, she had changed addressing Chen Luo as Big Brother Chen from boss Chen. Although she had accepted this new reality psychologically, Ouyang Lu still felt somewhat bewildered.
Chen Luo pondered the proposal and told Leng Chen, “Let’s have them understand the rules and benefits in our place, and determine if they are qualified as elites after a test.”
“Those who wish to join, I’ll give them three days. They need to bring 15 Level 3 crystals as proof,” Chen Luo declared.
Leng Chen nodded and began to explain the situation to the newcomers.
Exceptional talents wouldn’t need any tests. With this influx of new members, Chen Luo knew he had to make some adjustments.
The Thunderbolt King had returned, and Chen Luo had no worries about his success and safety. The Thunderbolt King was indeed exceptional, and his skills far outstripped those of Fei Zhengqing.
In his past life, as a lone dog, he had managed to survive until the second-to-last place, demonstrating how formidable he truly was.
This situation was akin to a stunning beauty walking alone in a perilous place and yet emerging unscathed, like a miracle in itself.
As for Lei Hao, he was contemplating leaving the group. He had initially joined under pressure from Feng Zhengqing, but now he wanted to depart. However, the two Level 4 members under his command, one male and one female, had chosen to stay. The young woman, in her early twenties, had a somewhat youthful and admiring look on her face as she gazed at Chen Luo.
Chen Luo’s strength left her in awe, transitioning from something she had only heard about to a reality she had witnessed firsthand. She couldn’t help but think, “He’s incredibly powerful.”
The young woman found herself unable to leave. Her relationship with Lei Hao was like that of an employer and an employee from the pre-apocalyptic world. If she was dissatisfied with her current boss or someone offered a higher price, she would just quit on the spot.
Now, her current boss seemed a bit unimpressive, and she was contemplating finding a new one. The young man, on the other hand, shared the same thoughts. There were many reasons for their decisions: Chen Luo’s overwhelming strength and the numerous girls in their group.
So, they said their goodbyes to Lei Hao and decided to join Chen Luo’s group, leaving Lei Hao somewhat bewildered. In the end, Lei Hao sighed and thought, “Alright, I’ll join too.”
Lei Hao approached Chen Luo with a hopeful look on his face. “Big bro, I’m a level four Metal Element user, and I’d like to join you. What do you think?”
Chen Luo was a bit surprised. A level four Metal Element user was indeed quite talented, and he could be a valuable addition to their group, perhaps as an assistant to Long Yu.
Back at their base, in the villa area, Long Yu appeared excited. He set up a large iron pot, about a meter in diameter, in the courtyard. Filling it with water, he turned to Ma Yu and said, “Sister Yu , give it a try.”
Ma Yu nodded and conjured flames in her palm, placing her hand under the pot.
Ma Yu was now at the fourth level as well.
Although her aptitude was average, she held a significant position in the group.
Chen Luo decided to allocate some of his level four and five fire elemental crystals to her.
Ma Yu was currently conducting an experiment to test the performance of this iron pot.
Normal iron and aluminum pots couldn’t withstand the high-temperature flames generated by people with supernatural abilities.
If the flames were too weak, cooking would be too slow.
She had to let Long Yu create suitable materials and melt them into the shape of the iron pot.
After numerous experiments, Long Yu finally managed to develop a metal material that could withstand high temperatures and had good heat conduction properties.
Ma Yu immediately used the maximum firepower, and within half a minute, the water in the pot had boiled completely. Surprisingly, the iron pot had not been penetrated.
Ma Yu was delighted and exclaimed, “This pot is amazing!” With this pot, they no longer needed gas or firewood. Furthermore, dishes cooked with flame abilities would be even more flavorful.
Long Yu was also very satisfied with the pot. This pot could not only be used for cooking but also modified to look like a shield, making it very effective in resisting fire-based abilities. However, it was not as effective against other types of abilities.
He could mass-produce these pots, and within a month, he could provide enough for the entire base’s regular use.
Chen Luo returned with Lei Hao and instructed Lei Hao to assist Long Yu. Long Yu was thrilled by this because Lei Hao could shape the materials he created.
Chen Luo smiled and said, “Sister Yu, try using your abilities to stir-fry dishes tonight.”
Ma Yu was also looking forward to it.
The Thunderbolt King handed over the Level 5 Wind Crystal obtained from Feng Zhengqing to Chen Luo, eagerly awaiting to see how many points he would earn for this mission.
The Thunderbolt King expected some compensation for the task. After all, he had to bring a target to bury. He tried to emphasize how much effort it took for a dog, but Chen Luo decided to award him with 500 points in total.
Chen Luo explained, “The crystal is worth 300 points, and the fee for deploying the ‘dog killer’ is worth 200 points. After all, he’s just a Level 5 weakling, isn’t he?”
The Thunderbolt King was disappointed but accepted the points.
Then Chen Luo calculated another expense: “Your wife consumes 30 pounds of meat daily, and each pound counts as one point. It’s been over a month, so that’s 1,000 points. I’m giving you a significant discount, considering that with one point, others can only buy two ounces of expired beef.”
He playfully patted the Thunderbolt King’s head, indicating that the discounted rate was quite generous.
“So now, you not only have no points, but you also owe me 500 points. But don’t worry, we’re like family. I’ll allow you to continue in debt to keep your wife fed with meat.”
The Thunderbolt King was startled when he realized how much his wife’s appetite had cost him. Earning points as a dog leader was no easy task.
The Thunderbolt King, disheartened, returned to the Silver Wolf’s place, wanting to assert his authority but then looking at his wife’s increasingly large belly, he felt helpless.
Chen Luo chuckled, knowing that having a wife made accumulating points much harder.
Chen Luo decided to leave Mengyin at the new base. The place was spacious with ample soil, making it a good location for her to work.
Moreover he had to bring Ouyang Lu and experiment with Mengyin’s seeds.
It had been two days since anyone visited the new base. Chen Luo immediately took Ouyang Lu and others to check on it.
At the new base, Xia Haoran was in charge of guarding. A level 5 can easily managed the security of a base.
However, they encountered trouble. A group of ugly, black, half-meter-tall bugs was causing havoc, led by a large, grotesque insect.
They had dug tunnels from underground and infiltrated the new base. These grotesque bugs were not only ugly but could also spew venom mixed with a foul odor.
While Xia Haoran was repulsed by the stench and wanted to avoid fighting these creatures if possible, he was responsible for security, and he couldn’t ignore the situation.
Xia Haoran delivered a punch that sent the bug flying over ten meters away, but surprisingly, it didn’t die. The bug seemed angry and baffled by the attack.
Just as Xia Haoran was about to finish it off, Chen Luo arrived and, after seeing the creature’s appearance, hastily stopped him, saying, “Don’t kill it under any circumstances.”
