The group led by Lei Hao, although all at Level 3, had slightly lower qualifications compared to the group led by Feng Zhengqing.
Many felt that Chen Luo’s requirements were too high, causing most people to leave immediately.
In contrast, Feng Zhengqing’s group, consisting of over a thousand members, was given three and a half days by Chen Luo.
These well-trained individuals were divided into several teams, efficiently killing zombies. Unfortunately, dozens of them died, and a small portion chose not to join.
In the end, only a little over six hundred people decided to join Chen Luo’s group.
With this, Chen Luo’s member count reached over 2200.
Chen Luo immediately set the recruitment criteria to Level 4; anyone below Level 4 was not accepted unless they were exceptional talents.
If they wanted to join, they had to reach Level 4 first.
When others found out about this, they criticized him, saying he was being overly arrogant.
The new base had already been constructed, and everyone stopped what they were doing, preparing to migrate.
A large amount of supplies were loaded onto the vehicles, and there were plenty of hands to help.
Mi Ling said, “This villa area can serve as a base, and in the future, it can be a temporary resting place when we go to the city.”
Chen Luo nodded in agreement. Just then, Thunderbolt King walked forward with his Silver Wolf and stopped beside a BMW.
Fa Wang glanced at the person next to him, who obediently opened the car door with a servile expression.
“Elder Dog, please come in,” Fa Wang said.
Thunderbolt King nodded in satisfaction, thinking, “This kid has a promising future.”
“Come, enjoy the show. Elder Dog is paying for everything today. No, this might bankrupt Elder Dog.”
Thunderbolt King could afford a bottle of drink, at least.
The Silver Wolf climbed into the back seat on its own, while Thunderbolt King got into the driver’s seat.
Thunderbolt King smoothly started the car with practiced movements.
Chen Luo: !
Mi Ling: !
Everyone: !
Inside the car, Thunderbolt King, wearing sunglasses, revealed a smug smile.
Driving, what’s the big deal? As long as you have hands, you can do it.
I have hands too, so why can’t I drive?
This car is a bit low-end. I should get a nice car for myself sometime.
Luxurious cars, handsome wolves – the peak of a dog’s life.
The Gray Wolf whimpered softly, “Boss, take me with you.”
Thunderbolt King looked coldly at the Gray Wolf. What use is this waste?
Thunderbolt King got out of the car, slapped the dog’s paw, and barked a few times.
“You, get lost! You keep hanging around my wife every day. What do you think you’re doing?”
The Gray Wolf, filled with fear, slinked away. It knew Thunderbolt King’s strength well. If Thunderbolt King told it to leave, it didn’t dare stay.
The Silver Wolf remained indifferent inside the car, while the Gray Wolf felt like it had been chased away by the Wolf King; it was a common occurrence.
The Gray Wolf seethed, vowing, “Don’t underestimate me just because I’m weak now. The wheel of fortune turns, wait and see.”
“Silver Wolf, you’d rather cry in the BMW than walk and laugh with me on four legs.”
“One day, I will defeat you, Thunderbolt King.”
Chen Luo watched helplessly. This Gray Wolf had no value—too weak, too low in rank, and it needed to eat meat every day. Keeping it was pointless, yet it refused to be a pet.
Perhaps Thunderbolt King didn’t want to inconvenience the Silver Wolf.
When I’m inconvenienced, Thunderbolt King takes action.
When Thunderbolt King is inconvenienced, hmph.
Chen Luo exchanged a glance with Jiang Feng, who nodded and left with a few people.
Hmm, Chen Luo thought, it wouldn’t be excessive to collect 300 points from Thunderbolt King later, right?
After two days of work, the relocation and organization were completed, and everyone had settled in.
The entire base was surrounded by an eight-meter-high, twenty-centimeter-thick earthen wall, constructed over a month by over five hundred earth-based ability users.
The higher the level of the earth-based ability user, the sturdier the wall they built.
The walls would be continually reinforced in the future, but for now, they just needed to provide shelter from wind and rain.
In an open area, Chen Luo built four villas, surrounded by a fence.
This was Chen Luo’s residence.
Regular members were allocated into small courtyards with ten people in each.
There were still many vacant houses, but Chen Luo didn’t assign them.
Firstly, if they wanted better accommodations, they had to work hard for it. Secondly, each courtyard housed a team, promoting teamwork and understanding among the members.
There were also couples’ rooms; once both partners accumulated enough points, they could exchange them for a separate small courtyard.
Chen Luo acquired professional well-digging equipment and dug dozens of wells within the base, eliminating the need to fetch water from the nearby river every day.
The new base had its advantages, such as safety and ample space, but the downside was the considerable distance they had to travel to kill zombies.
Many people followed Chen Luo’s lead and started building bases outside the city, but in terms of scale and location, none of them compared to Chen Luo’s base.
Chen Luo made a bold move by hiring hundreds of people, and it took nearly a month and a half to build the base. Who else had as many resources as Chen Luo?
Can anyone afford to hire so many people?
Zhao Hai arrived with his core followers, a total of seven people, seeking refuge.
He lost his base.
Not because of external forces, but because his own group fell apart.
They lacked resources, and neither Zhao Hai nor his core followers had outstanding abilities.
In simple terms, he couldn’t control his subordinates anymore. After being attacked by Ye Gaofei previously, the trust among his people shattered.
In the early days of the apocalypse, he could rely on his ruthlessness and the guns he had on hand to intimidate others.
But now, even other people’s little brothers seem to be doing better than him, and when he meets them, he has to put on a smiling face.
Now, if Chen Luo can accept him, he will be extremely grateful.
Song Ling isn’t worried; he has praised Chen Luo many times, so Chen Luo shouldn’t turn his back on him, right?
Seven people, in two cars, arrived at Chen Luo’s new base.
The base has two gates, one in the east and one in the west, both of which are sturdy one-meter-thick iron gates specially made by Long Yu. They can withstand high-level zombies without fear of low-level ones. It’s good enough.
Zhao Hai and the others looked at this base with its towering walls, feeling quite complicated.
The gap is getting bigger and bigger.
Even for his own base, he can’t defend it.
Chen Luo received the message and came out to greet them personally; after all, they were friends.
Chen Luo laughed and said, “Brother Hai, why did you come?”
A smile spread across Zhao Hai’s face. Chen Luo was still giving him face; how many people could call him “brother”?
Although it was just a formality, it still made Zhao Hai feel respected.
Zhao Hai said with a bitter smile, “Just call me Da Hai or Xiao Hai, this time I came to join you.”
