Premarital Cohabitation
Premarital Cohabitation: Chapter 10

10. Did We Just… Indirectly Kiss?

17.

Dr. Wei had me jogging on the treadmill.

After covering two kilometers, I was already sweating heavily. Aside from a slight redness on his skin, Dr. Wei was also catching his breath.

“It’s so hot! I’m going to get some water. Do you want any?”

Dr. Wei shook his head. “I’m not thirsty at the moment.”

Next to the vending machine was an air conditioner. I gulped down about half a bottle of water, then unbuttoned my collar and stood in front of the air conditioner, enjoying the cool breeze.

Suddenly, my collar tightened. Dr. Wei grabbed the nape of my neck and kept backing away until I was several meters away from the air conditioner before letting go.

“Just finished exercising, and your pores are all open. You shouldn’t be exposed to the air conditioning like this; you’ll catch a cold.”

I couldn’t help but suspect he had eyes on the back of his head.

Dr. Wei handed me his towel to wipe off my sweat. “It’s clean, I haven’t used it yet.”

“Oh, thank you.” His towel was fragrant, so I wiped my forehead lightly to avoid dirtying it.

He took it back and wiped his own neck, then gestured towards the VIP resting area with a small bed. “Lie down over there. I’ll help you stretch and relax a bit. Otherwise, you’ll wake up sore and questioning your life choices tomorrow morning.”

I followed his advice joyfully.

Like you, I imagined that delicate touch between us would create a spark in a beautiful slow-motion scene.

You look at me, I look at you, and the scene is filled with pink bubbles.

Isn’t that how it’s portrayed on TV?

But Dr. Wei’s character was anything but simple. As soon as I lay down, he used his index finger to press several acupoints on my thighs. His skills were quite similar to those technicians at foot massage parlors. It hurt so much that I gritted my teeth and tears welled up.

“Does this hurt?”

“WuWu… A little.”

“How about here, is your digestive system not doing well? Does this hurt too?”

“Wuwuwu…” I bit onto his towel. “Mhm.”

“If your liver and kidneys aren’t in good shape, how about this spot?”

“Wu…” I nodded. “Please be gentler!”

“It seems your body is quite delicate.”

I felt like a sheep being led to the slaughter. After being critiqued by him, I weakly got up from the mat.

This time, the position changed. He had me sit on the mat, legs straight and spread apart in a split. He stood behind me, his body pressed against my back. His hands firmly held my shoulders as he leaned forward and to the side.

“Ao-!” I screamed.

“Do you feel anything on the inner side of your thighs?” they asked.

I roared, “At a time like this, what kind of feeling can it have!”

“I meant your muscles, any pulling sensation in the muscles.”

“Oh.” My cheeks turned red, and I propped myself up with my hands on the mat. “Yes, I feel it.”

To make me feel more, they kept pressing down on my back, muscles tearing as if being ripped apart, the sourness turning into a heart-piercing pain. My vision filled with stars, and my knees on both sides started to tremble uncontrollably.

“I can’t do it anymore!”

“Hold on for 10 seconds.”

Wei Nanlin explained to me that post-exercise stretching is meant to prevent muscle nodules. After the formation of muscle nodules, blood flow slows down, leading to muscle hypoxia. This interferes with normal lactate metabolism and is detrimental to the body. Athletes also need to stretch after extensive physical training.

So troublesome.

I don’t want to exercise anymore.

Enough! I want to go home! Ah!

“Let’s go, take a shower.”

I perked up again.

The bathroom was open, with a total of ten showerheads, separated by glass walls every two.

The glass was fully transparent, which means…

“Why are you staring at me?” Wei Nanlin rubbed the foam on his head.

My face heated up a bit. “No way! I just happened to turn around!”

“My peripheral vision tells me you’ve been staring at me for more than ten seconds.”

“Scientific experiments prove that looking at handsome guys can extend your lifespan.”

Wei Nanlin tilted his head, “Does that mean I should look at you more?”

Aiyou. (*/ω\*)

I scratched my head, feeling too embarrassed to continue the banter.

Dr. Wei finished showering before me. When I changed into my clothes and went out, I saw several silhouettes sitting on the couch in the resting area.

This was the first time I noticed that people had different postures.

Some were lazily lounging on the couch, playing with their phones. Others had their legs crossed while eating fruits. Only Dr. Wei sat upright, seemingly focused on something.

His hair was partially dry from being blown by the air, his back turned to me. His ears, still slightly red from the heat, hadn’t completely lost their color, a faint blush.

As I approached, I realized he was looking at a potted green plant on the windowsill. He held the bottle of mineral water I had just drunk from, now empty.

I tilted my head and asked, “Did you water it?”

Dr. Wei shook his head, “No.”

Then it dawned on me.

Could this be considered… an indirect kiss?
