Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 13

The Transcendent Plant Master

It’s worth mentioning that those monitoring Ye Mo’s family never imagined she could afford to rent a spaceship, let alone pilot one. So, when Ye Mo landed her spaceship here, everyone assumed she was just another competitor.

Over the past few days, several spaceships had arrived, but upon realizing Ye Mo was gone, they quickly departed without a trace.

Ye Mo flew her spaceship directly to the wilderness. Planet Kamo, aside from its residential areas, had vast stretches of barren land. In these desolate regions, alien creatures and unknown dangers lurked. Those who ventured into these areas risked serious injury or even death!

The locals of Planet Kamo rarely dared to enter the wilds, which contributed to the planet’s worsening poverty as large swathes of land remained unused. Even if they wanted to cultivate the land, they lacked the knowledge. In the interstellar era, humanity had forgotten the art of planting entirely. The flowers in Ye Mo’s mother’s garden were heirlooms, preserved by the family’s butler. Ye Mo’s maternal grandparents had been researchers in the field of agriculture.

As she reached the wilderness, Ye Mo found herself surrounded by a barren landscape. Strangely, this desolate land felt oddly welcoming to her. She stepped off her spaceship, surprised by the strong sense of vitality in the air, despite the absence of any visible plant life.

Ye Mo ventured deeper into the desert, and although it was vast and deserted, she encountered no danger. This place felt truly strange.

When she arrived at a small mound, the sense of vitality grew even stronger. Ye Mo sat down and took out an apple to eat, recalling the books on pregnancy she’d recently read, all of which recommended eating plenty of fruits. She decided to try planting an apple tree in this barren land.

After finishing the apple, she dug a deep hole in the ground, placing the seed in a smaller hole within it. While she couldn’t accelerate the tree’s growth herself, she could use water from the Yang side of the Ying-Yang Pool in her space, which governed vitality. Ye Mo poured a bucket of Yang water into the hole, and the apple seed sprouted almost instantly, growing into a tall tree with lush leaves.

The apple tree blossomed and bore fruit, filling the air with a delightful fragrance. The apples tasted far superior to those she had imported from the mortal world. Ye Mo transported the apples into her space, but the tree continued to bear fruit, though the quality declined. Toward the end, the apples had become so sour she could smell it through the skin.

Ye Mo continued to pick the sour apples until the tree had only a few branches left, and it was clear that it was old and dying. She wasn’t interested in the remaining sparse leaves and flowers, so she left. Moreover, the vitality in the area had diminished, making it impossible to grow other fruit trees.

Ye Mo continued her journey, planting various trees along the way: orange, peach, pear, date palm, walnut, and even grapevines and watermelons. She knew that complete nutrition was essential for a pregnant woman, making these fruits indispensable. However, as she moved forward, the vitality of the areas she left behind seemed to decline significantly, becoming even more barren.

Throughout her journey, Ye Mo encountered no dangers or alien creatures. However, once she left, the hidden alien creatures began approaching the trees she had planted. Before they could reach them, a bright light suddenly appeared, and a massive spacecraft descended, hovering directly above the trees.

The intense light scared away the alien creatures. Several smaller spacecraft descended, carefully transplanting the few remaining trees and plants that Ye Mo had left behind.

Ye Mo’s planting had not gone unnoticed. Satellites had detected her movements, but those monitoring her chose not to interfere. Instead, they waited until she left to collect the plants. After all, no one wanted to provoke a transcendent plant master like Ye Mo.

The spacecraft belonged to the Guardians of the Eighth Zone, the soldiers responsible for monitoring this region of space. Their vigilance extended even to Planet Kamo, where a pregnant woman and a transcendent plant master had recently appeared.

General Mo, the leader of the Eighth Zone, had taken an interest in the situation. He watched a blurry video recording showing a woman planting a tree that bore fruit ten times in under half an hour. Although the trees brought back had only a few fruits left, they were enough for the botanists to study. The researchers concluded that the trees had expended all their vitality, growing from birth to old age in mere minutes.

General Mo rubbed his forehead, plagued by a persistent headache from recent events on Planet Kamo. As he pondered the implications, a young female soldier entered his office, carrying a tray. She couldn’t hide her infatuation as she greeted him, “General…”

Before she could say another word, General Mo interrupted sharply, “Get out!”
