The Deal

Ye Mo looked coldly at Prince Caser, who had the same face as Qin Lin. She still held a bit of a grudge against Qin Lin, so knowing that Prince Caser was Qin Lin’s reincarnation, she didn’t bother putting on a friendly face. “I didn’t expect Prince Caser to be so concerned about an ordinary woman like me.”

“Miss Ye Mo, you are anything but ordinary. Ordinary people don’t give birth to sextuplets,” Prince Caser replied with a sly smile. He didn’t expect Mo Mo to be so lucky, becoming the father of six children all at once. However, he already had one of the children in his possession.

Prince Caser’s gaze fell on the child in Ye Mo’s arms. She instinctively held her baby closer. “Prince Caser, my son isn’t fond of strangers. Please keep your distance,” she warned, now worried that this man might suddenly snatch her child away. His intense stare made her uneasy.

After all, Qin Lin had never been a reliable person. Just thinking about how he had forcibly taken her between the cultivation world and the mundane world was proof enough.

Ye Mo looked at the guards nearby. “Let’s head back. It’s too chaotic here.”

The guards, already wary of Prince Caser, now had their full attention on him. Prince Caser was growing irritated; even though he indeed wanted to snatch the child, he wouldn’t do it so blatantly in public.

“Miss Ye Mo, it seems you’re not fully aware of Star One. The people there aren’t as easy-going as I am,” Prince Caser commented, feeling disgruntled. But Ye Mo ignored him, returning to her room with the baby in her arms. Fortunately, the corridors were empty.

One of the guards advised, “Ma’am, it might be best not to bring the young master out anymore. Prince Caser is dangerous, and he has a lot of people with him.”

“Yes, ma’am, we should be even more careful once we reach Star One. The pressure there will be even greater,” another guard added, feeling the weight of the responsibility.

Ye Mo smiled. “Don’t worry. I’ll protect them.”

Once the door was securely closed, Ye Mo took her child back into her space. It seemed clear that she couldn’t take the children out anymore; Prince Caser truly intended to steal them away. That feeling couldn’t be wrong. It appeared the dangers they would face on Star One would be far greater.

Ye Mo pondered for a moment; it seemed wise to separate from the guards. She decided to stay hidden and let the fake wife handle things from here on out. Moreover, she needed Mo Mo to create more puppet dolls; if she was going to do business, better to handle it herself.

Ye Mo’s eyes narrowed slightly. 300 million per child? While 300 million might seem a bit low, a puppet doll for three million was certainly worth it.

Ye Mo quickly reached out to Mo Mo, relaying Prince Caser’s earlier behaviour, and requested him to make more puppets. Alternatively, she asked him to teach her how to make them. Mo Mo swiftly sent her the method, and Ye Mo was surprised at how much trust he placed in her.

Gathering the materials Mo Mo had listed, Ye Mo began crafting according to the steps. Although she aimed to make the puppet resemble just one-tenth of her children’s appearance, the finished puppet turned out far more beautiful than the one given to Yu He.

At that moment, Ye Mo noticed the woman who had previously made a deal with Zhang Yuming appeared, but Zhang Yuming was now like a madman, unable to respond to the woman at all.

Ye Mo reached out to her. “Instead of dealing with him, why not deal with me? I’m a servant close to the general’s wife. 500 million, and I’ll bring out a child for you.” Making a bit more money would be a nice addition to her children’s trust fund.

The woman frowned upon seeing the message. “Are you sure?”

“I’m sure! But 500 million, not a cent less. As long as the money arrives now, I’ll deliver a child to you by tomorrow.”

“Then meet me in person,” the woman insisted. There was no way she would hand over the money without seeing the person first.

Ye Mo transformed into a different appearance and sneaked out of her room. She arrived at the agreed location and faced the woman, who immediately asked, “Are you certain you can get a child?”

“I live right next to the general’s wife. I’m sure I can get one. When will the 500 million be transferred?” Ye Mo inquired.

The woman promptly requested an anonymous account from Ye Mo and transferred 500 million shortly after.

Ye Mo grinned. “Meet me here at this time tomorrow, and I’ll make sure to bring you an obedient child.”

As long as it wasn’t going to Yu He, Ye Mo could adjust the puppet to be as obedient as needed.

“Alright, make sure it’s a good-looking one,” the woman added, visibly displeased with the appearance of Yu He’s child. She had seen it before, but with Ye Mo and Mo Mo both being attractive, she had high hopes.

“Sure, no problem!” Ye Mo made an OK gesture, though the woman seemed unsure of its meaning.

After leaving, Ye Mo returned to her room and discreetly briefed the guards, instructing them to look heartbroken upon seeing the puppet. They were also to subtly spread a rumour that the general’s wife, Ye Mo, was in desperate need of money.

With that settled, they could create four more puppets to sell. If demand exceeded that, Ye Mo wouldn’t mind selling one to each buyer, provided they remained hidden.

Ye Mo was quite pleased with the puppet’s appearance, and more importantly, she had figured out why the puppets could grow. They could sculpt themselves into adult forms as long as they had sufficient materials. This feature made it exceedingly difficult for anyone to discover their true nature.

Ye Mo suddenly considered making a big business move on Star One. Since so many people were desperate for children, she could quietly sell puppet dolls to them. With enough materials, she could ensure everyone got one. However, regarding the price…

Ye Mo’s eyes gleamed. She wondered if Yu He’s troublesome puppet child would still seem so appealing once everyone had one of their own.

The thought made Ye Mo chuckle. She was now eagerly anticipating Yu He’s reaction upon seeing others with obedient puppet children.

The next day, the woman arrived early and waited anxiously. Ye Mo, disguised as before, appeared with the puppet child in her arms. When she handed the puppet to the woman, the latter’s hands trembled. The sight of the pretty and docile puppet made her eyes well up with tears. “Thank you!”

“It’s a mutual exchange,” Ye Mo said, raising an eyebrow. “If anyone else needs one, feel free to reach out. But since I’m taking a risk, the price won’t go down.”
