Chapter 369: Peach Blooming
But in Ye Wenxin’s eyes, Wang Cuihua appeared incredibly slow. Just as Ye Wenxin was about to grab her, the bells began to ring louder, producing an intense noise that nearly deafened Ye Wenxin.
Ye Wenxin wasn’t the only one affected; even the Yin-Yang ghosts found it extremely painful. Ghost Mother was particularly impatient and wanted to kill Wang Cuihua immediately, but Ye Wenxin stopped her.
“Don’t kill her…” As she spoke, Ye Wenxin shook her head and quickly pulled out the golden pen. She used her qi to draw a talisman script in the air, and then shouted, “Seal!”
The script struck the Harmony Bells. They quieted down, and Ye Wenxin swiftly moved in, grabbed the Harmony Bells, and threw them into her bag of holding. She planned to knock Wang Cuihua out and carry her away.
“Don’t come near! I’m not leaving! I won’t!” Wang Cuihua, terrified, retreated further and struggled to escape, running back towards the room they had just come from.
Ye Wenxin’s expression changed slightly. Rolling up her sleeves, she said to Xiao Li, “Keep watch here. If any jiangshi come, shout immediately. I’m going in to teach Cuihua a little lesson.”
Once she got an obedient nod from Xiao Li, Ye Wenxin angrily kicked the door open and went inside. Wang Cuihua, hiding in a corner, tried desperately to evade her. Despite her agility, Ye Wenxin caught her within two moves.
“Looks like your grandfather has never disciplined you.”
Ye Wenxin was somewhat annoyed; Wang Cuihua definitely needed some disciplining. If it weren’t Ye Wenxin dealing with her, who knows how many Wang Cuihuas would have died.
Wang Cuihua was dumbfounded. After hearing Ye Wenxin’s tone, she realized what Ye Wenxin was planning to do. She desperately tried to break free from Ye Wenxin’s grip, but that hand was immovable. In her panic, Wang Cuihua tried to bite down, but before she could reach Ye Wenxin’s arm, she felt a force lift her up. Then, she was hoisted over Ye Wenxin’s shoulder.
Wang Cuihua, still refusing to behave, struggled even harder. Within three seconds, she felt herself being thrown onto the bed. Seeing Ye Wenxin roll up her sleeves again, Wang Cuihua’s face turned pale as she remembered that Ye Wenxin was a fearsome woman who even dealt with ghosts. She quickly began to plead for mercy.
Ye Wenxin gave a cold, dark smile. “It’s too late for that now.”
She pounced, flipped Wang Cuihua over, and delivered a hard slap to her butt.
“Today, as your Grandmaster, I’ll discipline you on behalf of your grandfather!” Ye Wenxin said fiercely. She even found it a bit addictive, relishing the authority and benefits of her new title.
Wang Cuihua, pampered by Priest Wang her entire life, had never been hit before. Ye Wenxin wasn’t holding back at all, and with the first slap, Wang Cuihua’s eyes filled with tears as she cried out for her grandfather. Ye Wenxin continued her actions, enumerating Wang Cuihua’s faults with each slap.
“This is for worrying your grandfather!”
“This is for worrying your eldest senior brother!”
“This is for worrying your second senior brother!”
Tears flowed down Wang Cuihua’s cheeks. “I don’t have a second senior brother!”
Ye Wenxin awkwardly paused her hand mid-air, then delivered another hard slap. “Then you’ve worried your third senior brother.”
Wang Cuihua’s tears kept falling, but she realized she had no way to resist under Ye Wenxin’s grip. She decided to stop speaking, thinking that Ye Wenxin would eventually tire. However, Ye Wenxin seemed to have endless energy.
After a while, Ye Wenxin finally seemed to get tired. She stopped, looked at the reddened butt cheeks in front of her, helped Wang Cuihua put her pants back on, and wiped the sweat from her forehead. “Ah, a bit of exercise does feel good.”
Wang Cuihua was so angry, she nearly fainted, but she held on, silently cursing eighteen generations of Ye Wenxin’s ancestors. Reluctantly, she got up. Ye Wenxin looked refreshed and in high spirits, while Wang Cuihua, although struggling to move, was noticeably more obedient and didn’t argue with Ye Wenxin anymore.
As dawn arrived, the number of jiangshi decreased, but the number of feishi increased. These creatures had blue skin and sharper teeth. Despite lacking wings, they could leap into the air. Wang Cuihua, her whole body aching from the beating, was now more of a burden, even though she excelled in tracking and stealth.
“Now do you see how you were holding us back? Ah, but what can I do? I’m a good person.” Ye Wenxin sighed dramatically. Laughter escaped Xiao Li’s lips. Although he hadn’t witnessed Wang Cuihua’s punishment, he understood well enough what mean thing Ye Wenxin had done inside.
The humiliation was nearly unbearable, but Wang Cuihua was in too much pain. Ye Wenxin hoisted her up like a sack of rice. To a delicate girl like Wang Cuihua, being carried this way was even more shameful, and she hated Ye Wenxin half to death for it.
However, this was completely unintentional on Ye Wenxin’s part. She even considered Wang Cuihua’s pain from the beating, which was why she chose to carry her like this. Unbeknownst to her, this seemingly considerate act gave birth to Wang Cuihua’s grudge against her. The girl silently vowed to fight Ye Wenxin to the bitter end, and never acknowledge her as any sort of grandmaster…
After roughly the time it took for an incense stick to burn, the three of them reached the wall. Ye Wenxin saw the hole and fired a flare according to their prearranged signal. The dog-sized hole slowly opened, and with the feishi still in pursuit, Ye Wenxin threw Wang Cuihua into the hole and urged Xiao Li to quickly crawl in.
The feishi were already very close. Ye Wenxin shouted, “Sword Ghost, red apricot tree leans over the wall!”
Sword Ghost intended to follow the command, but then remembered she didn’t have any skill called ‘red apricot tree leans over the wall’, and turned to look at Ye Wenxin in confusion. When she looked back, she saw the mark of a red flower flickering on Ye Wenxin’s forehead, and the feishi let out wails before they transformed into a sea of red flowers.
Ye Wenxin, pleased with the new move she had developed, heard Priest Wang’s urgent shouts from outside: “Grandmaster, come out quickly; it’s too dangerous in there!”
Reluctantly, Ye Wenxin took one last look at the sea of red flowers on the ground, summoned the Yin-Yang ghosts back, and exited the city wall…
A moment later, a gust of chilly wind blew, and a woman in black robes stood there. She bent down to pick up one of the red flowers on the ground and said coldly, “Gu Qingcheng, I’ve finally found you.”
At this moment, Ye Wenxin was unaware of what her future held. Already back inside her tent, several One Short Sect female disciples were attentively giving her a massage.
Not far away, Priest Wang was still nagging Wang Cuihua. Although she felt wronged, she kept silent because it was Priest Wang scolding her.
Priest Wang soon grew tired, and seeing Wang Cuihua’s pitiful appearance, he felt a pang in his heart. “You must be hurt. Let Grandfather take a look.”
Just as she was feeling touched, Wang Cuihua was suddenly alarmed. Remembering the marks Ye Wenxin had left on her butt, she hastily shook her head. “No, I’m not hurt.”
TL: Ah, yes. Cuihua’s ‘peach’ had bloomed indeed. Lol.
