Chapter 36: Full
In the shameless bathroom, Su Lixu finally grasped the audacity of Fu Xingran. The location where he had left marks from a bite four years ago now bore even deeper traces, revealing this guy’s peculiar preferences.
Despite Fu Xingran’s occasional consideration, Su Lixu found himself momentarily stranded without anything to swallow.
However, he still ended up leaving the bathroom with weak legs.
As he lay on the sofa, contemplating calmly after a shower, this shameless person once again embraced him. Su Lixu began to doubt if he was unusually light, but that couldn’t be true – he should have a normal weight.
“Baby, you smell so good,” Fu Xingran held Su Lixu in his arms, expressing a strong desire to keep holding him. “Let me kiss you again.”
Before Su Lixu could speak, he was kissed once more, with no part of his face or neck spared, stirring up his emotions.
The scent of shower gel mixed with the lingering fragrance of August night intertwined, allowing Su Lixu to distinguish Fu Xingran’s scent.
Just when the atmosphere was getting intense, Su Lixu suddenly heard his phone ringing. He raised his hand against Fu Xingran’s chest, turned away to identify where the ringtone was coming from, and scattered kisses fell on his ear.
“Do you still have the mood to be distracted?” Fu Xingran pinched Su Lixu’s chin, making him look at him with a somewhat reproachful gaze.
“My phone is ringing,” Su Lixu said, still hearing the continuous ringing, planning to get up and find his phone, probably in the coat pocket.
Seeing Su Lixu trying to get off his legs, Fu Xingran grabbed his waist, preventing him from leaving, and bit the side of Su Lixu’s neck with a punishing intensity.
“Sss—” Su Lixu cried out in pain. “Fu Xingran! Are you a dog!”
Wasn’t their play in the bathroom enough?
“You’re being too much,” Fu Xingran let go of his mouth, looking at Su Lixu with resentment. “Does someone suddenly say they need to find their phone when everyone is in the mood? Is the phone more important than a man?”
Feeling Fu Xingran’s hand on his waist tightening slightly, Su Lixu was a bit ticklish. “What if it’s an emergency?”
Fu Xingran’s expression instantly turned gloomy, looking at Su Lixu with grievances. “Can there be anything more urgent than me?”
“Just in case—” Su Lixu started to say.
Fu Xingran raised his hand to cover Su Lixu’s ears, looking serious. “Now you can’t hear it; there’s no phone ringing.”
Blocked from many distracting noises by covered ears, Su Lixu faced Fu Xingran’s jealous and domineering expression. Overwhelmed by his dominance yet childishness, Su Lixu couldn’t help but laugh.
He raised his hand to cup Fu Xingran’s face, leaned down to give him a kiss, and whispered after letting go, “Now you’re my boyfriend, you don’t have to worry or be afraid of anything. I’m yours, understand?”
Perhaps these words comforted Fu Xingran, as he responded by biting Su Lixu’s lips and then releasing, saying softly, “Go ahead, listen.”
Su Lixu stepped down from Fu Xingran and walked to the entrance, bending down to pick up the coat they had thrown on the floor, taking out his phone from the pocket.
Incoming call: Mr. Fu.
Why would Mr. Fu suddenly call him?
As Su Lixu was about to answer, he felt warmth behind him, and Fu Xingran stuck close again, putting his head next to his phone. Su Lixu glanced at Fu Xingran.
“Answer it, let me hear what my dad wants to say to you.”
Su Lixu heard Fu Xingran say this and answered the call, “Hello, Mr. Fu? Is there something you need from me?”
There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone, and after a short moment, a voice came through, “Dr. Su, I believe I owe you a formal apology.”
Su Lixu was stunned, looking surprised at Fu Xingran, who mirrored his expression, as if saying, “This is unexpected.”
“The incident back then was not handled properly by me, causing harm to you, Dr. Su. Regardless of my intentions, I indeed lacked consideration, and ultimately, I hurt you. So here, I, Fu Wen, sincerely apologize to you. I hope Dr. Su can forgive me.”
Su Lixu suddenly didn’t know how to respond. Mr. Fu had apologized to him before, but the tone then was different. Today’s tone carried a genuine apology, and he was surprised.
However, the reason Mr. Fu would humble himself to apologize, he could only think of Fu Xingran.
While lost in thought, he felt a slightly cool hand on his waist, shivering a bit from the cold. He glanced at Fu Xingran, silently mouthing, “Don’t mess around.”
Fu Xingran silently smirked, his hand continuing its mischievous actions, even biting Su Lixu’s ear, waiting to see when he couldn’t resist and hung up the phone.
Su Lixu had no way to deal with this guy. He was even more clingy than when they weren’t officially together, almost becoming an accessory attached to him.
“Is Xingran beside you?” Mr. Fu on the phone seemed to have heard something, paused for a few seconds, and then asked, “Are you… together now?”
“Why would Mr. Fu ask that?” Su Lixu was somewhat surprised, but then he thought that after all, Mr. Fu was Fu Xingran’s father. Despite any conflicts between father and son, there was still communication.
“That brat is so obvious, who doesn’t know? He didn’t disturb you, Dr. Su, did he?”
Su Lixu glanced at Fu Xingran, who was also listening on the other side of the phone, looking quite nervous, as if worried that Mr. Fu might say something negative. Su Lixu smiled and said, “No.”
“So, you two are really together?”
Su Lixu replied, “Yes, we are together.”
Mr. Fu on the phone seemed to exhale in relief, “Dr. Su, I truly appreciate that you don’t mind him.”
Fu Xingran couldn’t take it anymore and burst out, “Dad! What do you mean? What do you mean by not minding me? Am I that bad?”
Seeing this guy about to explode, Su Lixu suppressed a laugh, holding the phone out of reach to prevent it from being snatched away. He told Mr. Fu, “Xingran is doing well now, in every aspect. You don’t need to worry. As for the apology, I accept it. You can rest assured.”
Mr. Fu said, “That’s really good. In that case, why don’t you two come home sometime, and we can talk.”
“Okay.”
As soon as Su Lixu hung up the phone, Fu Xingran lifted him up. Su Lixu exclaimed, reflexively grabbing Fu Xingran’s waist and wrapping his arms around his neck to prevent himself from falling.
“I’m not going home!” Fu Xingran stared at Su Lixu. “How can you forgive him so easily? He almost became a bad person between us by a hair’s breadth!”
Su Lixu supported Fu Xingran’s shoulders, seeing his serious expression, and resisted the urge to smirk. He pretended to seriously contemplate.
Fu Xingran, annoyed by Su Lixu’s apparent contemplation, asked, “What? Isn’t it true?”
“I’m thinking, aren’t you already my boyfriend?” Su Lixu leaned close to Fu Xingran’s ear and retaliated by biting it playfully. “Jealousy.”
Before the words could fully register, Fu Xingran kissed him.
The lips were gently bitten, neither painful nor itchy, slowly succumbing to Fu Xingran taking control of the breath.
He allowed it.
If Fu Xingran wanted this sense of security, he would give it. As much as he needed.
As for himself, he was willingly falling into the romantic discourse spun by Fu Xingran. He thought, Fu Xingran would be fine.
Definitely.
It was snowing again.
December’s snow fell like goose feathers, gently and generously on the windowsill. Looking out from the warm room through the French windows, the snowflakes were so soft and white, it seemed unreal.
And at this moment, on the large bed, two figures embraced, waking up to this scene.
“Good morning, baby.”
Su Lixu was embraced from behind by Fu Xingran, and he heard Fu Xingran’s just-awakened husky voice in his ear, the tender words “baby” resonating, sending tingles that stirred his eardrums. It felt as if from the beginning to being together, this process seamlessly flowed in what seemed like an instant.
“Morning.”
After saying this, warm lips left a gentle, dragonfly-kissing warmth on his, devoid of any particular emotions.
Su Lixu felt a bit ticklish and couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, I have class soon. Let’s get up.”
Fu Xingran had no intention of letting go of Su Lixu. Holding onto him, he rested his chin on Su Lixu’s shoulder. “Just a bit more hug.”
Hearing Fu Xingran’s spoiled tone, Su Lixu felt a bit helpless, but he would give Fu Xingran whatever he needed. He hoped to provide a sense of security, preventing Fu Xingran from constantly being in a state of uncertainty.
“Okay.”
Fu Xingran held Su Lixu tighter, his chin against his shoulder. They both gazed out the French windows. “Baby, in my lifetime, I will only be with you. There won’t be anyone else I like as much.”
Under the same blanket, Fu Xingran’s body temperature was like a furnace, creating an atmosphere as warm as the words spoken.
“In your lifetime?” Perhaps due to the warmth of the embrace, Su Lixu leaned back into Fu Xingran’s arms, nestled under his shoulder. He looked at the falling snow outside the window. “Are you so sure? You’re only twenty; you’ll meet many more people.”
He was actually prepared for this.
“If I hadn’t met you in my lifetime, my life would have ended when I was fourteen.”
Su Lixu’s eyes flickered slightly. He turned his head, meeting Fu Xingran’s eyes, as deep as ink, holding an indestructible determination. It brought a bitter sweetness to his heart, and he turned around, hugging Fu Xingran.
Hearts pressed together, separated only by thin clothing, they could feel each other’s heartbeat.
“So meeting you is the true beginning of my life. I’m sure, as long as I have you, I won’t have any problems. But if I don’t have you, I will definitely decisively abandon this world.” Fu Xingran lowered his head, gently rubbing his nose against Su Lixu’s, coquettishly saying, “Baby, don’t abandon me, or I’ll definitely lock you away, hide you away. I promise I’ll do it.”
Su Lixu felt a twinge of danger with these words, tightening at his lower back. He raised his hand, pinching Fu Xingran’s cheek with a warning tone. “If you dare to force me, I will definitely leave.”
Fu Xingran seized Su Lixu’s hand, bringing it close to his lips, kissing his wrist. “How could I dare to force you? I’ll coax you, hold you. As long as you don’t leave me, I’ll definitely cherish you.”
The kiss on his wrist was like a dragonfly’s touch, causing ripples in Su Lixu’s heart.
“But if you really want to leave me, I might truly lose control, and I don’t know what terrible things I might do. I—”
Su Lixu didn’t wait for Fu Xingran to finish speaking; he lifted his head and kissed him, swallowing the words he still wanted to say and drowning the negativity.
Perhaps sensing the emotions of the person in his arms, the moment they kissed, the unsettled feeling Fu Xingran had just experienced was deeply suppressed by the warmth of the embrace. Following Su Lixu’s affection, he gently supported the back of his neck, deepening the kiss.
Su Lixu thought, no, he would keep his promise; he wouldn’t leave.
The snow outside the window fell heavier and heavier.
After an unknown amount of time, when they were both breathless, they parted.
Su Lixu rested in Fu Xingran’s arms, a bit oxygen-deprived from the prolonged kiss. His chest rose and fell for a while before he softly exhaled, calling out, “Fu Xingran.”
“Yeah, I’m here.” Fu Xingran hugged him tightly.
Su Lixu leaned his ear against Fu Xingran’s chest, listening to the strong heartbeat. “I promise I won’t casually leave you, but you also have to promise me not to hurt yourself casually. If you can’t control it, feel sad or angry, then fill me in.”
Fu Xingran seemed surprised. He looked down at Su Lixu with a hint of disbelief that he would say such things. “…Is it really true?”
“Yes.”
Fu Xingran pursed his lips, trying to suppress the evident joy, not wanting Su Lixu to notice too much. “Well, now I’m a bit unhappy.”
“Why are you unhappy now? Su Lixu is lying in your arms, looking at you. What else could make you unhappy?”
Seeing Fu Xingran’s mischievous expression, Su Lixu lightly pinched his chin, applying a bit of force. “Stop acting cute after gaining an advantage, you rascal.”
The two embraced like this for a while longer. Su Lixu felt that Fu Xingran was just too warm. “Get up.”
“No.” Fu Xingran held onto Su Lixu.
“…Why?”
“I want to kiss again now. Let’s kiss again!”
“I have class in a bit!”
“I’ll just kiss you once.”
Su Lixu was at a loss with this guy, so he quickly kissed him on the face. “Enough already.” After the kiss, he wanted to get out of bed to freshen up.
“No.” Fu Xingran pulled him back. “It has to be a gentle kiss; you’re too fierce.”
So, he demonstrated it himself.
“In the afternoon, can I take you to my art studio? The lighting there is excellent, and if we get tired, we can lie down.”
“Fu Xingran, take a break.”
“I’m young, and I’m healthy.”
The snow outside the window continued to fall, fine snowflakes drifting at the window, creating a hazy and gentle scene. Despite that, the room was unbelievably warm.
Su Lixu thought, even someone with a precise biological clock and who wasn’t a fan of lying in would be pulled into this guy’s pace. “Really, time to get up, boyfriend.”
Fu Xingran hugged Su Lixu, chuckled softly in his ear, “From now on, we have to wake up together every day, no turning back.”
“Got it, clingy.” Su Lixu laughed.
Fu Xingran watched Su Lixu get up and dress. He thought:
What’s wrong with being deliberate? Any love requires wholehearted effort; otherwise, it’s just a pastime, not love.
