Chapter 238
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Just like what Heinrich had reported, there were around 400 to 500 monsters coming to town, with a Kobold King riding an Armored Lizard leading at the forefront, followed by the horde of monsters behind.
I was appointed to take command of the left wing strike unit. Donny, maybe out of consideration for Bavarian-sama, tried to appoint the command of the left wing strike unit to Heinrich but Heinrich refused it. He bluntly told me to take charge of that unit, since I was the one that came up with the draft of this plan.
The most important thing in this operation was to match the timing of the attack launched by the left wing strike unit and right wing strike unit. Someone had to shoot a fireball in the sky as the signal of the attack and that someone was me. So it was better to leave the command to me, they said.
“Let’s go!”
The Kobold King and the following troops of monsters were about the enter the trap zone in front of the vanguard unit. It would be difficult for the monster to change their course at this point so I pointed the tip of my Hellfire Sword toward the enemy’s right flank. I moved a group of over 40 left wing cavalry strike units to circle the enemy counterclockwise.
“All forces! Turn right! Slow down your speed!”
““××! 〇〇◇!!””
After running through the field for a while, I finally reached a position where I could see the enemy’s flank. I immediately changed my course. My signals were conveyed to the entire army under me by the help of aides, Juno and Heinrich.
We waited for the right timing a short distance away from the monsters. The monsters paid us no mind, they were all sprinting towards the South Gate. In the meantime, I cast Stone Skin and Burning Muscle to the front line troops to boost their attack power.
I observed the behavior of the monsters, gauging the right timing for the assault.
Not yet… Just a little bit more… We mustn’t overlook the fluctuation of the enemy’s excitement.
“Now.”
Suddenly, I felt a ripple of changing emotions coming from the enemy.
“Left wing strike team! Charge toward the enemy’s flank!”
“”××、△〇〇!!””
I shouted and cast a fireball using my Hellfire Sword, detonating it in the sky.
At the same time, the long distance unit began their long range attack with bows and magic, directing their attack toward the enemy’s vanguard. Juno and Heinrich, who were on my left and right side respectively, issued orders for the left wing strike team to charge towards the enemy’s midsection, which was beyond the range of our long distance unit.

T/N: 40 people in just 1 unit. I guess they’re not that short on numbers.
