Chapter 28 1/2

Hua Qing was particularly surprised. Especially after the company, to accommodate her treatment schedule, directly cut off more than half of her originally planned filming dates, she felt like she was in a dream.

Having worked for two companies before, she knew the practices in the entertainment industry. There’s a saying: “An artist’s body belongs to them, but the money they earn for the company will always belong to the company.” This was the most genuine mindset of major companies in the current entertainment industry.

As for whether the artists’ bodies would be ruined, It didn’t matter. The companies would exploit them as much as possible before their bodies were ruined. After all, it was the artists’ bodies, not theirs. Once ruined, no one, other than the artists themselves, would care.

But here at Starlight, where they had just signed, Starlight not only paid a large sum to sign her, they also didn’t rush to make her work hard, didn’t exploit her, and actively took care of her body.

Hua Qing was completely surprised and overwhelmed by the treatment she received at Starlight. Even though she was one of the Four Small Flowers, she had never expected to be treated so well at Starlight. Even those big stars in other companies were often pressured by their companies to do this and that.

The most shocking thing for her was that not only did she, as one of the Four Small Flowers, receive such treatment, but other artists in the company who were not very famous (meaning they didn’t need to be overly concerned by the company) also got time for rehabilitation.

Moreover, everyone’s treatment was done at the expensive Aihe Hospital. Even though everyone knew that treatment here would be fast and the privacy almost impeccable, making it the best place for artists’ treatment, it was still expensive.

Hu Qing never thought that Gu Zhao was involved in these matters.

She came from Wan Sheng, and Gu Zong, during his time at Wan Sheng, only cared about the company’s interests. He was as cold-blooded as a robot.

Although he didn’t deliberately exploit the artists, he was not the type of person who cared about the health of the artists in his company. As long as the artists could create profits for the company, he didn’t care if they were physically healthy or not.

The excellent treatment that Starlight gave to their artists and employees could only be attributed to Sheng Quan’s decision.

After getting a full eight hours of sleep, undergoing rehabilitation training, having a normal and healthy diet, and even having a face-to-face session with a psychologist from Aihe Hospital, Hua Qing felt an unprecedented lightness in her body.

With most of her body restored through rehabilitation, she looked at herself in the mirror and was surprised to find that she seemed to have become a bit more beautiful. But thinking about it, it was quite normal.

No matter how diligent she was in applying face masks and staying up late, her state couldn’t be good.

Hua Qing seemed to have gradually returned to her best state, not just physically but also mentally.

Previously, she always felt that everything was very urgent, as if she would be abandoned by everyone immediately if she didn’t stand out. But now she has found a sense of security that hadn’t appeared in a long time. Although she knew that once she entered a working state, she wouldn’t be as relaxed as she was now, Hua Qing felt incredibly reassured.

The company arranged for her to attend acting and posture classes, among others. She would diligently attend and strive to improve herself under the company’s encouragement. Every time she saw An Baixing exhausted, she couldn’t help but go up and say:

“The company arranges classes for us because they care about us. This means that Starlight wants to develop with us in the long term.”

Hua Qing had changed without realizing it.

When she was at Wan Sheng, she rarely interacted with artists from the same company. After all, being in the same company didn’t mean having a good relationship; it often meant having competition. Sometimes, the company would intentionally provoke competition between them. But at Starlight, Hua Qing, who had originally intended to switch jobs, had completely integrated into Starlight.

Now, when she chatted with her peers, she would always say things like “our starlight” and “our sheng dong.”

Hua Qing now understood why so many people regarded Sheng Quan, the company’s chairman, with such reverence.

She also understood why Gu Zhao, who used to often confront the two shareholders during his time at Wan Sheng, suddenly became gentle as a lamb in front of Sheng Dong at Starlight.

Having been in Wan Sheng for a long time, she remembered that Gu Zhao, in the past, was not the type to engage in confrontations. He always silently worked, but unfortunately, such behavior did not earn recognition from the two partners. Instead, they used the company’s development to threaten him into making concessions.

Then, Gu Zhao’s methods became extremely radical.

But now she seemed to see the previous Gu Zong again.

Although she didn’t know why he was so obsessed with wearing wire-rimmed glasses now, even though he didn’t have myopia,

In any case, Hua Qing now only hopes that Xing Mang can, just like its name suggests, hang in the sky with brilliance.

Starlight forever.
