A cool breeze blew through the sycamore tree at the door, and the large leaves rustled gently.

The sunlight was dazzling, illuminating half of Jiang Han’s face, and her expression turned pale for a moment. But it was only for a moment.

“Six years, huh?”

Jiang Han turned her head, tidied the loose hair around her ears, and slowly drew a playful smile. “That’s pretty soon.”

Ji Fan looked at her in silence, a little surprised.

Jiang Cha had liked her for six years – anyone would think that the two of them had a very good relationship. Six years, such a long time, and Jiang Han still had so much to think about?

The midday sun was too strong and a bit dazzling. Ji Fan narrowed her eyes slightly, folded her arms, and her long eyelashes fluttered, her expression a bit puzzled and impatient.

Jiang Han had already half-buried herself in the car, only turning her head back.

“Have you heard of the seven-year itch?”

Before Ji Fan could say anything, Jiang Han ducked into the car, closed the door neatly, and left.

Seven-year itch?

Heh.

Ji Fan thought, that wouldn’t happen to Jiang Cha.

But although she said so, she felt a little restless in her heart.

Why hadn’t Jiang Cha come home yet?

Who did she go to see?

Was it Song Baiwei?

Although Ji Fan had invested in several films she had directed, the two of them were not actually familiar. She only remembered that Song Baiwei’s films had a good overall reputation at the box office, and she hadn’t made any bad films, but they weren’t the kind of commercial films that made the most money. As for the rest, she didn’t care or know.

Ji Fan pondered for a moment, opened the search engine, and entered: Song Baiwei.

The encyclopedia provided information.

Song Baiwei, born on July 14, 1989…

It didn’t matter.

She continued to scroll down, a bunch of award experiences, also unimportant.

••••

The page stopped at love and marriage.

Single, unknown relationship history.

Ji Fan narrowed her eyes slightly, and her slender fingers moved, returning to the first page. There was a photo there, with a rattan chair in the background and a cup of clear tea in front of it. Song Baiwei was wearing a pure white tea dress and smiling softly.

Ji Fan raised an eyebrow.

So pretentious.

She was over thirty, single, and had an unknown relationship history.

Suspicious.

Ji Fan pondered for a while, and in a moment, she thought of a lot of possibilities. The water dripping from her wet hair had formed a small puddle at the door.

It was almost noon, and although it was spring, the wind still carried a bit of chill. Ji Fan wrapped her hands around herself slightly. She was wearing thin clothes, and her long hair was still wet, and it was blown by the oncoming cold wind, causing her to cough lightly.

She closed her eyes quietly.

And then she suddenly realized that her thoughts had been led astray by Jiang Han. Now, she felt that everyone was suspicious and had designs on Jiang Cha.

She tried to control herself and not think in other directions.

As soon as the door closed, she started to worry again.

Song Baiwei seemed to be quite pretty. Could it be that Jiang Cha…

From morning till now, she hadn’t had a drop of water. As she passed the kitchen, the oven door reflected her face. She looked a little pale, and her lips looked like they were suffering from low blood sugar.

She should find something to eat.

She usually didn’t have to worry about these things. In the house on the mountain, there was a row of servants waiting on her at any time, cleaning the room and preparing food at any time, fresh fruits, vegetables, desserts, and afternoon tea.

The flowers on the bedside table were always covered in dew.

Jiang Cha didn’t like to stay with the servants, so only the two of them lived here.

Ji Fan opened the refrigerator and frowned.

It was empty, with a jar of jam, a few boxes of juice, and a piece of chocolate.

Ji Fan picked up the chocolate with disdain, went upstairs, peeled off the aluminum foil with her slender index finger, and ate while working.

She would look at the time from time to time.

More than an hour had passed, and Jiang Cha still hadn’t come back.

••••

It was already noon.

The coffee shop and studio were both located in a bustling commercial district in the center, not too far from the quiet residential area, only about a ten-minute drive away.

Jiang Cha sat in the back seat, holding a paper bag in her arms. Inside the paper bag lay a croissant, quietly exuding a warm wheat aroma.

Yang Yan couldn’t help but laugh, “It’s already noon, who are you taking it back to?”

Jiang Cha’s red lips curved up, and she lowered her eyes and smiled.

The sunlight passed through the slightly gray window glass and fell on her fair side face, as if time had stopped for a moment. Her long eyelashes, slightly curled, looked light and slender, and the corners of her thin red lips curved slightly, as if she was thinking of something, gentle and sweet.

“You…” Yang Yan hesitated, “Let me remind you again, don’t take it too seriously.”

Jiang Cha nodded.

But she still didn’t listen.

The driver dropped her off at the door and turned the car around to leave.

Jiang Cha tiptoed upstairs and pushed open the half-open door. A slender figure was sitting quietly.

Ji Fan was sitting in front of the laptop, typing away.

When she saw her, she didn’t turn her head, as if she hadn’t noticed Jiang Cha’s presence at all.

“Did you eat breakfast?”

Jiang Cha asked softly.

Ji Fan stopped typing and asked without turning around, “Who did you just see?”

“A director.”

“Why did it take so long?”

“Signing a contract, there were a lot of things to explain.”

Ji Fan finally turned around.

Her half-wet long hair carried a refreshing cold fragrance, and the biased light instantly illuminated her straight nose. Half of her face was hidden in the darkness, and the other half was in the sunlight. Her black and white eyes looked at her quietly.

Her expression was a bit cold.

The light gray velvet bathrobe was slightly open, with only one side of the belt loosely tied. Water droplets were still wet on her collarbone, dripping one by one. The sunlight fell on them, crystal clear and icy.

“Come here.”

Ji Fan said.

Jiang Cha slowly approached, and Ji Fan reached out and pulled her, causing her to fall onto her lap. She hugged Jiang Cha’s waist tightly, her warm breath spraying on her white neck.

A gentle kiss lingered around her ear.

“How was the director?” she asked.

Jiang Cha’s eyes lit up, and she nodded. “Very good, she’s amazing.”

Ji Fan bit her earlobe hard.

Her hand reached into her clothes and pinched her waist.

“Itchy,” Jiang Cha laughed and dodged, not noticing Ji Fan’s increasingly deep gaze.

“You…” Jiang Cha trembled and whispered, “What are you doing?”

A fine rain began to fall outside the window, gradually moistening the originally dry grass. Water droplets rolled down the tips of the grass one by one, gradually converging into a muddy stream.

The valley was slippery and difficult to walk in.

The screen on the side had already gone dark, reflecting the transparent overlapping figures of the two of them in gray-black. Jiang Cha clung to Ji Fan’s shoulder, her slender white fingers curled up, her red lips slightly parted, and her fair cheeks seemed to be covered with a layer of rose-colored gauze.

••••

The curtains were half-closed, a semi-transparent white gauze.

The sunlight fell quietly, creating a quiet and ambiguous atmosphere.

Jiang Cha was lying on her shoulder, breathing softly.

“Don’t act anymore,” Ji Fan said softly in her ear.

“Huh?” Jiang Cha looked at her in surprise, “Didn’t you ask me to enter the entertainment industry?”

“…”

Ji Fan looked at her quietly.

She said solemnly, “I don’t want to now, is that okay?”

Jiang Cha smiled, “Okay.”

She just thought Ji Fan was joking.

Ji Fan frowned.

“You don’t want to?” Ji Fan stared into her eyes, “Do you like the feeling of being a star? Being adored by so many people?”

“That’s not what I mean.” Jiang Cha lazily played with Ji Fan’s loose hair on her back, strand by strand.

“At least let me finish this time… This movie is very important to me, it’s different from before.”

“Why?” Ji Fan said, “Because the director is Song Baiwei?”

Jiang Cha stared at her for two seconds.

“I don’t like Song Baiwei.”

Jiang Cha said softly, “I only like you.”

Ji Fan’s heart moved, and she suddenly felt a very strange feeling.

“Put your clothes on first… Be careful not to catch a cold.” Jiang Cha stood up, her legs were a little soft, but she still patiently bent down and helped her tie the loose bathrobe.

This caring word somehow pleased Ji Fan, and her expression softened for a moment.

Jiang Cha still remembered that she hadn’t eaten breakfast, so she reached out and picked up the edge of the packed paper bag, handing it to her and saying softly, “Are you hungry?”

Ji Fan took it but still kept her eyes down.

Her eyelashes were so thick that when she lowered them, they cast a deep and rich shadow against the soft light. Her lip line was elegant, with white skin and red lips, like a pen-and-ink drawing in a few strokes. The lines were hard, but the person was elegant and outstanding.

“And in the future?”

She asked softly.

Without looking at Jiang Cha, her gaze fell.

Jiang Cha blinked her long eyelashes lightly.

It was so bright outside, and saying these things made her feel quite embarrassed. Besides, hadn’t she already admitted it?

Her heart was beating a little fast, and she couldn’t speak, so she delayed it for a while.

Hearing no sound from Jiang Cha, Ji Fan was a little displeased.

“I want you to repeat that.”

Ji Fan looked at her, her clear eyes flashing with some emotions that Jiang Cha couldn’t quite understand and were not so certain.

Forcedly calm, embarrassed, and slightly nervous.

Insecure.

“I like you, now and always.”

Jiang Cha said softly.

Her voice was as thin as a mosquito.

Ji Fan looked at her quietly, her eyes filled with a faint smile.

Then she glanced away.

“How much do you like me?”

She asked softly.

After saying this, her gaze lowered even more, her long, bony fingers curled slightly, and her cold white earlobes turned a slight shade of crimson.

Jiang Cha turned around and looked at her quietly.

Little by little, her gaze tried to see her through and through.

Then her red lips curved, and her eyes were filled with a fine light.

She smiled and hugged her, leaned over, and breathed softly into her ear, “I like you very much, especially very much.”

Her tender lips brushed against her earlobe, and her dark eyes stared at Ji Fan without blinking, as if trying to capture every slight expression of hers.

“You’re so curious.”

Jiang Cha smiled lightly.

Ji Fan pursed her lips, feeling a little embarrassed.

“What about you?”

Jiang Cha looked into her eyes seriously.

Perhaps because she had bullied her too much just now, there was a faint blush at the corners of Jiang Cha’s eyes, and her long, curled eyelashes trembled slightly, like the wings of a butterfly. Her doe-like eyes looked at her quietly, so gentle.

“Do you like me too.”

Ji Fan glanced away, her expression suddenly cold, slightly disdainful.

“Is that something you should ask?”
