Chapter 13: Feeding Success
After she finished speaking, she saw He Jiaqi walking in through the back door and quickly called out: “He Jiaqi, do you want some milk tea?”
“Why are you suddenly offering me milk tea?” He looked at Qi Ze and suddenly understood. “He doesn’t want it, so you gave it to me?”
“So, do you want it or not?”
“Yes, yes, yes.” He Jiaqi had just come back from playing basketball. His forehead was covered in sweat, and he was indeed a little thirsty.
He was about to take the drink when a fair and slender hand suddenly reached out from the side and took the milk tea from Jiang Mingyue’s hand before he could.
Jiang Mingyue and He Jiaqi both looked over in confusion. Qi Ze calmly took out a straw, inserted it, and took a sip.
Only then did he raise his head and look at Jiang Mingyue. “Since you want me to try it so much, I’ll try it. Not bad.”
Jiang Mingyue looked pleasantly surprised. “Really? Then I’ll bring you more next time.”
Qi Ze nodded slightly.
【Ding—Blackening value -5%. Current blackening value: 83%. Host, keep it up】.
Wow, another step forward.
“Well then, I’ll just drink water.” He Jiaqi said helplessly and walked away.
Jiang Mingyue waved at him. “Next time, I’ll treat you again.”
She then turned back with satisfaction to look at Qi Ze, who seemed even happier drinking it than she would have been herself.
She asked with great interest: “Did you feel the happiness of milk tea? Did you feel full of energy, and suddenly realize the world is beautiful?”
Qi Ze lowered his head and took another sip of milk tea. In that moment, he looked a little obedient.
He swallowed a pearl and said calmly: “I’m quite certain this is just milk tea, not elixir.”
Jiang Mingyue pouted and silently argued in her heart: Milk tea is the elixir of the mortal world.
“Oh right, Xixi and Haha will be discharged from the hospital this Saturday. Do you want to come with me to pick them up?”
Jiang Mingyue leaned on the desk and asked him.
“I have something to do on Saturday.”
“All right then, I’ll send you their photos later.”
“Little Yueyue, do you want some sunscreen spray? We have PE class soon.”
Chen Xiangyi was holding a bottle of sunscreen spray, misting herself thoroughly from head to toe without leaving a single spot uncovered.
By late May, the weather in Beijing had already grown hot, and everyone had switched to their summer uniforms.
Outdoor PE classes at this time of year were indeed very sun-exposing.
“Yes, yes.” Jiang Mingyue stretched out her arms toward Chen Xiangyi.
Chen Xiangyi pressed down on the nozzle and sprayed fiercely. Jiang Mingyue’s arms were instantly enveloped in a cloud of white mist.
“Wow, your sunscreen feels so refreshing on the skin. What brand is it?” Jiang Mingyue rubbed her arms. It wasn’t sticky at all.
“Let me see… it’s in French, I can’t read it.” Chen Xiangyi examined the bottle carefully but couldn’t make any sense of it.
“My mom bought it. I’ll ask her for you later. Close your eyes, let me get your face too.”
Chen Xiangyi sprayed Jiang Mingyue from head to toe, a cloud of white mist swirling around her until she was practically wrapped in it.
Cough cough! “Are you spraying pesticide or what?” He Jiaqi covered his nose and quickly backed away.
Chen Xiangyi said: “Do you want some too?”
He Jiaqi replied: “No thanks. A real man using sunscreen isn’t manly at all.”
“Yueyue, help me spray a bit on the back of my neck.”
Jiang Mingyue took the bottle and sprayed a circle around the back of Chen Xiangyi’s neck.
Class One also had PE this period. As soon as Jiang Mingyue got to the field, she saw Qi Moyang standing at the back of Class One’s lineup with his head proudly raised like a show-off freak.
Jiang Mingyue couldn’t help but roll her eyes—and the person in question saw it. His expression immediately darkened.
She acted like she hadn’t noticed anything.
She had forgotten to mention—Jiang Mingyue was in Class Seven.
The PE teacher led them on two laps around the track and a round of calisthenics before announcing that everyone could move about freely.
Jiang Mingyue declined Chen Xiangyi’s invitation to play volleyball and went to the supermarket to buy snacks instead.
The sun was blazing above, and she was not in the mood for exercise.
When she returned to the sports field, she saw Qi Ze sitting alone on a bench at the side of the field, so she strolled over.
“Qi Ze, want something to eat?”
Ever since Qi Ze had drunk the milk tea, he no longer rejected Jiang Mingyue’s offerings of snacks. Whatever she brought him, he would at least try a little.
Jiang Mingyue handed him a bag of cucumber-flavored potato chips. “These are cucumber-flavored. Try them and see if you like them.”
Qi Ze took one, tasted it, and nodded. “Tastes better than the tomato-flavored ones from last time.”
“Right? I think so too. Cucumber flavor is my favorite.” Jiang Mingyue said as she pulled out a bottle of Yakult and handed it to him.
“Drink this little bottle—it helps with digestion.”
Then she pulled out another bottle for herself. “Come on, cheers!”
Without waiting for Qi Ze’s consent, she tapped her Yakult bottle against the one in his hand. “To eternal happiness!”
“Childish.”
Though he called it childish, Qi Ze still raised his Yakult and took a sip.
Qi Moyang, who was playing basketball, saw the scene and couldn’t help frowning.
Wu Chengxuan followed his gaze and looked over. “What are you looking at? Isn’t that… Jiang Mingyue? Why is she with Qi Ze?”
Another person nearby also asked with confusion: “Has she really given up on chasing you and moved on to someone else?”
Qi Moyang slammed the basketball hard and snorted. “If she really gives up, that’d be best.” As he spoke, he made a three-point shot.
Wu Chengxuan said: “She dares to be with Qi Ze, that jinx? Not afraid of getting cursed? Hahahaha”
He couldn’t help but burst out laughing after that.
Qi Moyang’s expression darkened, and he shot Wu Chengxuan a glare.
Wu Chengxuan gave an awkward laugh. “Just kidding, just kidding.”
Someone nearby quickly tried to smooth things over. “Old Wu’s just fond of joking around, don’t take it to heart. Let’s get back to the game.”
“You guys go ahead. I’m going to take a break.” Qi Moyang tossed the basketball to someone beside him and walked off.
“Old Wu, you better be more careful next time. No matter how bad their relationship is, they’re both members of the Qi family. Saying things like that in front of him just ends up embarrassing the family.”
“And their relationship has always been a delicate one. It’s not something outsiders can fully understand. Don’t talk nonsense just because you saw some random gossip.”
A person familiar with the Qi family explained calmly from the side.
Wu Chengxuan’s expression soured, but he still nodded. “Got it.”
Lin Shuangshuang also looked at the two with a displeased face. “So that’s it, Jiang Mingyue. You didn’t like Moyang because you had a new target.”

On Saturday, Chen Xiangyi had invited Jiang Mingyue to attend a comic convention and help take some photos for her.
So after school on Friday, Jiang Mingyue went early to pick up the pups.
“Xixi and Haha, Mommy’s here to pick you up!”
As soon as they saw her, Xixi and Haha ran over immediately. She had visited them many times by now, and they had become very familiar with her.
Jiang Mingyue hugged Xixi and Haha tightly, ruffling their fur enthusiastically.
The doctor came over and said: “You’re here. Your friend just finished visiting Xixi and Haha.”
“Qi Ze was here?”
“Yes, he often comes to see the puppies.”
“Looks like Uncle Qi really loves you two.” Jiang Mingyue said to them, holding their heads close.
The doctor asked: “Are you taking them home today?”
“Yes, yes, I want to bring them home as soon as possible.”
