Before he could finish his reminder, Jiang Mingyue had already finished drinking.

Although they were technically in a relationship now, they hadn’t officially confirmed it yet.

Qi Ze seemed to understand her concerns and didn’t decline: “Alright.”

He helped Jiang Mingyue into the back seat. Less than thirty minutes into the drive, Jiang Mingyue furrowed her brows and woke up.

After waking up, her stomach felt particularly uncomfortable, and she felt like throwing up.

Qi Ze: “You’re awake. Do you feel sick?”

Jiang Mingyue pounded her chest: “I feel like throwing up, can you stop the car?”

The driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror: “Hang on, we’ll be there soon.”

“Okay.”

After she finished speaking, Jiang Mingyue looked around, seemingly realizing something, and asked in surprise: “How did I end up in the car?”

Qi Ze replied: “You got drunk, don’t you remember?”

Jiang Mingyue slid down from her seat, wishing she could crawl into the gap under the chair.

Qi Ze pulled her back up, unable to hold back a light chuckle: “No one will care.”

Qi Ze quickly pressed his lips together to keep from smiling.

“They’ll remember my lie about drinking a thousand cups without getting drunk, every time we drink together.”

The car finally stopped. Qi Ze got out first and then went around to the other side to help Jiang Mingyue out of the car.

Jiang Mingyue waved her hand: “No need, I can do it myself. I’m sober now.”

Qi Ze asked: “You’re really sober?”

“Yeah, I’m very clear-headed.”

Jiang Mingyue held onto the car door and tried to step out, but as soon as her foot hit the ground, it felt like stepping onto cotton—soft and wobbly.

Luckily, Qi Ze was still by her side to support her, or she would have collapsed onto the ground.

Qi Ze supported her to stand properly: “Didn’t you say you were sober? How do you feel now? Still uncomfortable?”

“I’m really sober.” Jiang Mingyue insisted, trying hard to stand straight. “If you don’t believe me, just look at my clear eyes.”

She blinked, hoping Qi Ze could see for himself.

The light from the streetlamp fell across her face, catching in her peach blossom eyes. Perhaps due to the alcohol, her eyes were unusually moist today, glimmering like a shimmering lake.

Qi Ze: “Hmm.”

Jiang Mingyue kept blinking her eyes.

Qi Ze: “I can see clearly now. Don’t keep blinking, isn’t it uncomfortable?”

When Jiang Mingyue opened the door to her house, Xixi and HAHAHAHA rushed out immediately, circling around the two of them.

“Why are you back so soon? I thought you’d be out playing for much longer.”

Aunt Du’s voice came from the doorway. Seeing Qi Ze supporting Jiang Mingyue, she quickly walked over in a few steps. “What happened?”

Qi Ze: “Auntie, sorry, she drank a little and accidentally got drunk.”

Aunt Du helped Jiang Mingyue on the other side. “Come in quickly, I’ll make some hangover soup.”

Jiang Mingyue obediently allowed herself to be guided to the sofa. Seeing Qi Ze still standing nearby, she patted the spot beside her. “Come sit down. Let’s pet the dog together. Xixi said you should hurry up and pet it.”

Qi Ze sat down and petted Xixi, who was circling around his legs.

Jiang Mingyue then grabbed Haha. She tried to lift it into her arms, but her arms felt too weak, and she couldn’t manage to do so.

Instead, Haha obediently jumped onto the sofa by itself, lying on her lap and begging for pets.

As Jiang Mingyue stroked Haha, she started yawning, and before long, she lost consciousness.

She didn’t wake up until the alarm clock blared the next morning.

Jiang Mingyue fumbled to turn off the alarm and rolled around in bed before getting up.

Her head felt like someone had been pounding on it.

A dull ache.

Her mind was still foggy as she staggered to the bathroom. Splashing her face with cold water, she suddenly remembered that there were no classes or exams today. It seemed like she had woken up too early.

She quickly ran back to her room.

Laying down on the bed again.

She closed her eyes.

Ready to go back to sleep, afraid that if she waited any longer, the drowsiness would vanish.

But just as she shut her eyes, memories of last night’s drinking started flooding her mind, each one rushing to the forefront.

She sat up in panic once more.

Slowly, her face changed from red to frustrated, and eventually, it became calm again.

“Forget it, forget it.” Jiang Mingyue comforted herself: “I have thick skin, it’s no big deal.”

She then lay back down, and to her surprise, she actually fell asleep again.

When she woke up again, it was almost noon. Aunt Du, knowing that Jiang Mingyue liked to sleep in on her days off, hadn’t woken her up.

After heading downstairs, she found Xixi and Haha sitting on the couch, intently watching a cartoon.

Although Haha was a husky, it never chewed up furniture. Compared to other huskies, it was surprisingly quiet.

Jiang Mingyue had once suspected it might have some mental issues and even took it to the pet hospital for a checkup, but there was nothing wrong with it.

The doctor concluded that it might just be a bit lazy.

On the other hand, Xixi was the more active one. It was always jumping around the house, but today, it was unusually calm.

Jiang Mingyue sat down, intending to pet their heads.

Before her bottom even hit the couch, Xixi spotted her and immediately dashed away.

It jumped to the other side of the couch and glared at her, rolling its eyes.

Its gaze was full of disdain.
