Chapter 6: It Was the Butt That Moved First

The next day, it was no surprise that Jiang Mingyue couldn’t get up.

When the alarm rang at 6:30, Jiang Mingyue didn’t hesitate to turn it off and fell back into a deep sleep.

Suddenly, the loud roar of a motorcycle engine echoed.

She turned her head and just in time saw a student riding a super cool black motorcycle, parking it in the lot next to the school.

Waiting for the person to take off their helmet, she finally saw his face.

It was Qi Ze!

She hadn’t expected him to be this cool!

Qi Ze parked his bike and didn’t head toward the school gate. Instead, he walked towards the wall where she was.

“Qi Ze, good morning!”

Jiang Mingyue happily greeted him, but Qi Ze only gave her a cold glance before walking past her.

She didn’t mind and followed along. “Your motorcycle is so cool! Do you ride it every day?”

“Do you need a license to ride a motorcycle? Can minors get a license…”

“Shut up.” Qi Ze turned his head and shot her a cold glance.

Then, she backed up a bit, took a running start, and jumped, managing to climb up the wall.

Just as she had barely crossed the wall, her backpack fell from above and struck Qi Ze, causing him to stagger.

Looking down at the backpack at his feet, he couldn’t help but let out a laugh, albeit one tinged with annoyance.

Jiang Mingyue struggled mightily and finally made it over the wall. It had been years since she’d climbed a wall, and it showed in her rustiness.

Sitting atop the wall, she saw Qi Ze down below, his gaze filled with something sinister.

Though she was suspicious, Jiang Mingyue had no choice but to climb down. She hesitated for a moment but then carefully descended.

If something went wrong, she would run immediately.

The instant her feet hit the ground, Qi Ze kicked her backpack, and with a swift motion, threw it into the air, sending it flying in a perfect arc. What?!

Jiang Mingyue stared in disbelief as she watched her backpack sail over the wall.

She couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at Qi Ze.

Qi Ze, however, turned around happily and walked away.

Was this something a person would do?

Jiang Mingyue wanted to cry but had no tears. She could only climb over the wall to retrieve her backpack, then climb back in.

Her hands were scraped raw from the wall’s edge.

By the time she reached the classroom, the morning study period was almost over.

Qi Ze was already leisurely sitting at his desk, playing on his phone. Jiang Mingyue stood behind him, secretly shaking her fist in frustration, wishing she could punch him.
