Chapter 20 – “I just want to stay by your side and go nowhere!”

Time passed quickly. After Lu Hanchuan personally tutored Su Zhiyi in all of her high school subjects, the college entrance examination finally arrived as scheduled.

By then, Lu Hanchuan’s injured leg had already fully recovered.

After she finished speaking, she turned her head and looked at the tall, upright man beside her, a sweet smile blooming on her face.

The members of the Lu family all reacted differently to her words.

Grandfather Lu and Father Lu clearly supported Su Zhiyi’s decision with approving expressions.

However, Grandma Lu and Mother Lu wore expressions of concern and heartache.

At that moment, Su Zhiyi very playfully raised her little fists with an adorably proud expression on her face.

She shook her fists. “Hmph! If anyone dares try to steal Lu Hanchuan from me, I’ll beat her until even her parents won’t recognize her!”

Watching her swing her tiny fists with that fierce but endearing look, everyone finally couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

Lu Hanchuan’s eyes were filled with tenderness and fondness. “All right. If anyone ever dares to bully you, you go ahead and hit them. I’ll take care of the aftermath.”

Hearing Lu Hanchuan’s words, the smile on Su Zhiyi’s face grew even sweeter.

Then, she suddenly remembered something and turned her head to ask Father Lu: “Oh right, Uncle Lu, what happened to that military wife who came here to stir up trouble the other day?”

Upon hearing her question, Father Lu thought for a moment before answering: “Ah, that Chen Juying and her mother-in-law were expelled from the military district compound. They’ve returned to their hometown.”
