The Days of Raising a Baby with My Socially Anxious Husband
The Days of Raising a Baby with My Socially Anxious Husband Chapter 61 – END

Chapter 61

After the New Year, the preparations for their wedding began. Two days before the wedding, Jiang Yu suddenly received a call from Chi Le. Her voice on the phone sounded weak and sad as she asked, “Jiang Yu, can you come and keep me company?”

Jiang Yu hadn’t been in contact with her for a long time. Receiving her call took her by surprise, and she asked, “What happened?”

“I…” Chi Le’s voice choked as she said, “I broke up.”

Jiang Yu felt a sense of foreboding. To be honest, at that moment, she really wanted to congratulate her for leaving the scumbag. She thought this in her heart and naturally said it out loud.

“Congratulations on starting a new life.”

A faint smile crept onto her lips, though her voice carried a weak sadness. “Yeah, but I’m still a little sad. Fu Miao is very busy, and I don’t know who to talk to. Can you come keep me company?”

Jiang Yu was about to get off work, and she glanced at the bustling traffic outside. Many people were finishing work, and since it was still light outside, she thought that if Chi Le wasn’t being love-struck, she actually had a pretty good impression of her.

So she quickly agreed.

“Sure. Where are you?”

Chi Le sent her a location, and seeing that it was close by, Jiang Yu drove over.

During the past year, while her child was growing, she had grown as well and had finally gotten her driver’s license.

However, when she arrived, Jiang Yu found it was a bit different from what she imagined.

It was at a bar.

She didn’t expect that she would have to accompany her to drink. Drinking would mean she couldn’t drive.

Jiang Yu hesitated at the entrance but eventually went in.

She rarely went to bars; the last time was a long time ago with friends, and she was a bit curious about what a bar was like.

Once inside, she quickly found Chi Le, who had drunk a lot and was already blurry-eyed. A guy was bothering her.

Chi Le was trying to push him away, but he clung to her like glue. Jiang Yu’s expression hardened as she walked over and stood between them, saying, “Get lost.”

Her serious expression didn’t intimidate the guy; instead, he smirked and teased, “Oh, hello there, beautiful.”

Jiang Yu grabbed the man’s hand. He was still laughing until his expression twisted in pain.

“You—”

Jiang Yu had taken self-defense classes for about half a year, plus she had experience from previous fights, so handling such a scoundrel was easy for her. She smiled slightly at him and said, “Does it hurt? If it does, then get lost.”

The man felt as if his bones were breaking. Once Jiang Yu let go, he felt like he had come back to life. He looked at Jiang Yu as if he had seen a ghost and hurriedly ran away.

With the annoying guy gone, only Jiang Yu remained next to Chi Le, who was dazed and said, “You’re here.”

The bottles on the bar were empty, clearly indicating that Chi Le had drunk quite a bit. Jiang Yu looked at her and sighed, “It’s just one guy. You’re beautiful and wealthy. Does it really matter that much?”

Chi Le laughed so hard that tears came out. “Of course it matters! We’ve known each other for over ten years. After his family had troubles, I didn’t despise him, but he still blames me. He blames me, Jiang Yu! How could he do this? I’ve helped him so much. Why does he still blame me?”

“Clearly, he was the one who approached me first. Why? Do you know how sad I am now? I wish I could go back to the past and reject him when he came to find me. That way, I wouldn’t be in so much pain now.”

Jiang Yu listened quietly to her talk, unable to utter a word.

Seeing that she was silent, Chi Le finally spoke, asking, “Are you secretly laughing at me for being foolish?”

Jiang Yu shook her head. “No, I was just thinking about whether I should advise you.”

“Actually, there’s not much to advise, but I want to say that not everyone has the luck to meet a good person from the start. If you feel you made the wrong choice, there’s no need to regret it; after all, it’s just a life experience. What I think is more important is learning to stop the loss in time. I don’t admire those who marry well, but I do admire those who realize they’ve taken the wrong path and can turn back in time.”

“Chi Le, pain is only temporary. Once you get through it, you’ll be fine. Everyone makes wrong choices sometimes, but I think you should know what you really want in a relationship. Don’t let love bind you.”

Chi Le stared at her blankly for a while before saying, “Thank you.”

“Can you drive me home?”

Two days later, Chi Le messaged Jiang Yu, saying she was preparing to go abroad and would be boarding a plane soon. Lin Sicheng realized he had gone too far and wanted to make amends, but she had already decided not to look back.

She added: [Jiang Yu, thank you. Your words made me see things clearly.]

When Chi Le messaged Jiang Yu, Fu Miao was also there. She asked Jiang Yu, “Don’t you know why they had a fallout?”

Jiang Yu shook her head. “I don’t know.”

“It’s because my husband collaborated with your husband. Chi Le has been helping Lin Sicheng with his business this past year. He really wanted the project in my husband’s hands, but in the end, he collaborated with your husband.”

Jiang Yu was taken aback.

Fu Miao said, “Thanks to us knowing each other. Otherwise, my husband might have chosen Lin Sicheng. He’s actually quite capable, just a bit less than Jiang Zhe. So after this happened, he and Chi Le fell out. But I was shocked that Chi Le didn’t cause you any trouble.”

Jiang Yu uncertainly said, “Maybe it’s because she sees things clearly now.”

“Let’s hope so.”

That evening, Jiang Yu asked Jiang Zhe about it. Jiang Zhe nodded. “Yeah, I thought you two had stopped contacting each other, so I didn’t mention the business troubles to you. Is there a problem?”

Jiang Yu was actually quite happy. She hugged his arm and said, “It’s nothing. I was just wondering if Chi Le realized it on her own or if my words helped her.”

Jiang Zhe replied, “They aren’t important. You should focus on preparing for our wedding; that’s the most important thing for you right now.”

The wedding.

Thinking about the wedding in two days, Jiang Yu’s lips curved into a slight smile. “Okay, Mr. Jiang.”

Jiang Yu’s wedding was in shades of purple, held at the largest hotel in the city. On that day, her wedding dress was a lavender pink. She walked slowly towards her husband, holding hands with her parents, with her little daughter as the flower girl.

The wedding was grand and invited many relatives and friends. Jiang’s father watched as his daughter’s wedding turned out to be even more extravagant than he imagined, grinning from ear to ear. After this wedding, who would dare say their daughter’s marriage was unhappy?

The wedding was splendid, but it was also exhausting.

Halfway through the wedding, Jiang Yu felt completely drained. Jiang Zhe had just finished dealing with the guests outside when he noticed how tired Jiang Yu was. He walked over to give her a shoulder massage and asked, “Are you tired?”

Jiang Yu nodded pitifully, “Yes.”

Thinking about having to greet guests outside later, her expression looked even more miserable.

“My feet hurt a bit, and I’ll have to drink with them later; it’s a bit uncomfortable.”

Jiang Zhe picked her up horizontally, a mischievous smile in his eyes. “Since that’s the case, shall we run away?”

Jiang Yu thought that was not a good idea.

“We can’t just leave Luo Luo behind, right?”

Jiang Zhe shrugged it off. “It’s fine. Luo Luo can go home with your parents or my mom. We’ll spend our wedding night just the two of us.”

He carried her and slipped out from the backstage.

As Jiang Zhe drove fast on the road outside, Jiang Yu tagged a few elders in their group chat: [We’re leaving now. We’ll leave Luo Luo to you.]

Father Jiang replied helplessly: [You two.]

Mother Jiang was very generous: [Go ahead; we’ll take care of the rest.]

Jiang Yu’s lips curled into a smile, and then she noticed a rainbow appearing in the sky. Confused, she asked Jiang Zhe, “Did it rain just now?”

Jiang Zhe replied, “It didn’t rain on our side, but it did here.”

Seeing the rainbow on their wedding day, Jiang Yu felt it was quite beautiful.
