After confirming the recipe, Aresia couldn’t wait to take the materials and start experimenting.
The process of brewing the Energy Potion was quite straightforward for her as she was an experience potion make. As she makes the energy potion, she also observes the students making the Healing Potions without any hindrance.
Being on the front part of the room, she had a clear view of their progress. She can also hear professor Victor calling out students and point out their mistakes, which had a somewhat disciplinary effect.
This resulted in the students staying in the classroom during their break time, except for the occasional bathroom break. They diligently continued brewing the Healing Potions.
It was a way to request the guidance of a potion teacher in teaching potion. The teachers of magical alchemy were rarely invited, as they were known to be strict. It was considered a responsibility for experienced magicians to teach alchemy, especially when it came to brewing potions. It was even more daunting for a group of young and inexperienced children, each of them being the cherished child of noble families. They were worried about the responsibility.
In the school, the potion classroom looked ordinary, but in reality, various protective magic was engraved on the workbenches. It was a precaution against accidents caused by mishandling of materials or incorrect brewing methods. The classroom was protected by a magic circle.
There were quite a few accidents related to mishandling of materials or incorrect brewing techniques. The potions in the cauldrons would sometimes react violently, almost splashing onto the students’ faces and disfiguring them. Fortunately, the protective magic circle in the classroom prevented such incidents.
This time, they received a severe scolding from Victor. With a bitter face, they cleaned up the workbench and resumed preparing the Healing Potion.
Karina, relieved that her partner was Aresia, was grateful that they didn’t get scolded too severely. They were fully focused on practicing.
By the time Aresia finished brewing the Energy Potion, it was almost time to pack up.
As Aresia turned off the fire. Victor, who was checking the other student’s potion put down the potion and approached Aresia’s table to examine the results of Aresia’s work. Just like the quality of the Healing Potion, he found out that the Energy Potion she make is also excellent.
With only a slight difference in color from the usual Energy Potions. Victor guessed that this change was due to the addition of seaweed, which probably enhanced the purity of the Energy Potion to reach a higher level of quality.
Such quality was not easily achieved, even with experience. Victor’s opinion of Aresia grew even higher, seeing her innate talent in potion-making.
When the just-made Energy Potion was still hot and needed to cool down before being bottled, Aresia had about five bottles’ worth. Victor hesitated for a moment, but he didn’t manage to resist and decided to buy a bottle, ready to try it out.
Aresia was determined to establish a good relationship with professor Victor since she had a plan to borrow a laboratory in the near future.
Arising from the situation, Aresia agree. She didn’t refuse this opportunity, as she also knew that it would be inappropriate to refuse the request of her teacher, especially since Victor had personally expressed interest in her potion. “Professor you don’t need to pay me for a bottle of potion, but in exchange can I have a bottle of the potion your brewing?”
Victor, being a teacher of magic alchemy, was well aware of the rules. He showed a bitter smile and said, “Alright, I’ll give you a bottle in exchange for your potion.”
The two of them reached an agreement, and Victor received a bottle of Energy Potion. He took a sip directly.
The effects of potions were usually felt immediately upon consumption. Victor could sense the surge of energy within him, but he was unsure how long it would last. The duration of the potion’s effect would determine its quality. He would make a judgment after assessing its effects.
Unfortunately, due to his schedule, Victor missed the opportunity to engage with this promising student. In the meantime, he focused on teaching other students, particularly the third-years.
He couldn’t resist pointing out their mistakes, comparing them to Aresia’s exceptional performance. He even made a comment like, “How can a first-year like Aresia perform so well than a third year like you?” Soon, Aresia’s name spread among the other students, and even the headmaster caught wind of it.
It was also from this day that the first year students discovered that one of their batch is particularly different.
There is one or two who among the students in magic department excel, and before the class start it was Wendy who was said to be one of the outstanding students among her batch, and being a commoner makes the other even more at awe to her talents and skills. Many also speculated that if she always works hard, she will definitely become a genius with advance magic level or above in the future.
Wendy as a talented commoner girl became the talk of the town before the next year class started and now it was Aresia who is only a freshman that excel in all subjects but the difference is that Aresia is a Duke’s daughter so everyone knows that she has a privilege and a means to learned everything that was taught in the Academy.
Although some students found it hard to accept this newcomer’s talent, they realized that her exceptional performance was not solely due to her status as a duke’s daughter. Aresia’s magical talent exceeded the norm, which was acknowledged by the other professor and the noble circle.
In this era where magical talent varied, the students learned about Aresia’s magical aptitude and tried to avoid the misconception of “she’s better because of her background.”
They recognized that Aresia’s excellent performance came from her dedication and hard work. She was on the path to become an outstanding magician, even surpassing the level of a third-year student.
The attention shifted from her background to Aresia’s own abilities.
Although they dare to do this privately, few people dare to come to Aresia. Aresia’s life is still as simple and busy as usual.
At this point, the situation for the magic and warrior departments is very different. The chief of the warrior department relies on combat to secure their position, while the chief of the magic department at a lower level is determined through examinations.
This examination is not just a written test, but also includes practical exercises in basic magic, magic medicine, and alchemy.
During the weekend, steward Aaron arrived. He was more excited than last time and couldn’t wait to tell Aresia some news: “Miss, I have received the first magic loom. I had the alchemy workshop make one and tried it first, and our workers have tested it. The results are very satisfactory. I have already arranged for the workers to take turns familiarizing themselves with operating the magic loom. As soon as the remaining magic looms arrive from the alchemy workshop, the textile factory can immediately start mass producing spider silk fabric!”
Aaron’s pressure has increased recently. More and more people are approaching the textile factory to order spider silk fabric, and not just members of the Gryphon Legion. Even nobles and wealthy individuals who heard the news from somewhere have come to place orders.
Although the textile factory doesn’t have much external publicity for spider silk fabric and people outside the Griffon Legion rarely see it, it doesn’t stop those who heard the news from Amos from placing orders. This has led to an increase in the amount of deposits received by the textile factory.
Because they have the magic loom as a foundation, they can guarantee the production of spider silk fabric. So Aaron dared to accept these orders without hesitation, collecting a small amount of deposits for each order and implementing purchase limits. They reject bulk orders from merchants who come to buy in large quantities. Since they don’t have enough spider silk fabric, they started selling in limited quantities.
The increased number of orders tells Aresia that the amount of deposits alone has exceeded 600,000 gold coins and is steadily rising. This amount surprises Aresia and makes her wonder if the wealthy people of the entire city of Holy Lotean would come to them to order spider silk fabric.
Their spider silk fabric is sold for 100 gold coins per piece. With just the deposits, they could buy 6,000 pieces of fabric. They collect deposits of ten gold coins per piece, so the 600,000 gold coins mean they have already pre-ordered 60,000 pieces of fabric.
With this quantity, can the textile factory meet the demand?
