The news of the duke’s impending arrival startled Aresia initially, but she quickly realized that it wasn’t a big deal. Others may not know, but her father knew from her about the inherited memories and that her teacher was from another world and wasn’t an ordinary mage.
Moreover, this teacher was an eighth-level. It was no wonder the duke couldn’t sit still upon hearing the news that Aresia’s teacher showed up in the territory.
Regardless of whether he came or not, Aresia had already made arrangements for Isis to make her appearance. She had already left her father’s farewell speech behind.
Since the duke was on his way, Aresia temporarily put this matter aside.
“I have something for you,” Aresia said.
She fetched a beast space ring from her space ring. It was a space ring that had been given to her by her parents. It was specially made to disguise itself and appeared to be a regular ring. She had prepared this gift for Amos.
For ease of wearing, the space ring was transformed into a silver-white ring in the shape of a Gryphon. After all, it was a gift for Amos, so it was made in a style that he liked.
Amos received the space ring, slightly surprised, and immediately asked, “Is this a space ring?”
“Yes, it’s a space ring. It’s not just for storage but a beast space. It’s for Andalucy to reside in, so take care of it.”
Taking care of a cub was not easy. Moreover, considering Amos’s current mission, he was both patrolling and temporarily working as an archer. Knowing his situation, Aresia understood that he was in a bit of an awkward position. After all, others, including the team captain, Duru, participated in the battle, but he, a knight, was temporarily acting as a long-range archer to provide cover for his teammates.
It didn’t feel right to him. After all, others had their own roles, including Duru as captain, while he, a knight, was not directly involved in combat. He was only providing cover for his teammates, which didn’t feel like his role.
Moreover, this situation would likely continue until the Gryphon cub was old enough to participate in battles.
After hearing that Aresia had space for the cub, Amos immediately felt delighted and said, “I’ll take care of arranging it. I’ll come back later to thank you.”
After seeing him off, Aresia continued to focus on her work.
Due to Amos’s return, during dinner, Aresia didn’t disguise herself as Isis. She sat with Amos, and her clone, disguised as Isis, didn’t ate with them. The clone didn’t need to eat, but it was hidden in the room prepared by Charlie.
Being in the public eye all the time had its disadvantages. It was better to have some time to rest. Aresia had been busy with Charlie until midnight last night. Worried about his condition, she went to inquire about it.
Well, dinner was different. During dinner, she didn’t need to disguise herself. Amos told Aresia about their recent progress.
Although the duke’s estate was surrounded by mountains, it wasn’t common to find a large group of high-level magical beasts. The Gryphon pack was an exception. Other high-level magical beasts preferred solitary lives. Moreover, the high-level magical beasts they encountered were often at the fifth or sixth level because they were capturing magical beasts near the four or five cities. They rarely encountered lower-level magical beasts. When they did, they usually killed them to provide extra meals for their beast companions.
“Not only did we have gains, but we also encountered a group of Clawed Horses on the plains. Although the number wasn’t small, unfortunately, the people from the five cities were also there. Nonetheless, we managed to capture ten Clawed Horses, including the leader of the herd.”
Clawed Horses were a group of horse-like magical creatures with an average level of four. The leader of the herd had reached the fifth level. They were the favorite prey of Gryphon packs on the plains.
The plains of the Duke’s estate were truly vast, and although the surrounding magical beasts had been cleared out by humans, there were still formidable creatures deep within the plains. Especially in areas closer to the mouth of the sea, higher-level magical beasts were more common. Although encountering a group of Clawed Horses wasn’t rare, compared to other magical creatures, these horse-like beasts were easier to tame.
The Guard Squad, consisting of knights, was skilled in horse taming. If it weren’t for the people from the five cities capturing magical beasts on the plains, the Guard Squad would have been able to capture the entire Clawed Horse herd.
The Clawed Horse Guard Squad had plans to bring the horses back to Holy Lotean City. However, the distribution of the horses would be handled internally by the castle. At this point, the castle was planning to form a team for capturing magical beasts.
In fact, the Guard Squad wasn’t able to capture magical beasts for their beast companions. They lacked the ability to do so. Their primary responsibility was to protect the safety of the castle and its surroundings. Their numbers weren’t sufficient, and if they formed a beast-capturing team, it would require high-level professionals.
However, the higher-level professionals were needed for the defense of the castle. If they left, the castle’s defense system would be compromised, endangering the safety of the castle. Thus, Isis’s appearance resolved the issue. Although she didn’t disclose her exact level, it was speculated that she was at the peak of the seventh level.
Given the high-level sea monster meat she brought, it was clear that she had the ability to deal with seventh-level sea monsters.
With the presence of this powerful mage in the castle, the responsibility for the castle’s defense no longer rested solely on the shoulders of the military leaders. They decided to form an elite team. They wouldn’t go too far from the castle, focusing on searching for suitable magical beasts on the plains and capturing them.
Due to the return of Isis and the fact that she had a space for her beast companions, the castle’s beast companion sightings had decreased significantly. However, this information was provided by Amos.
Amos was particularly interested in the beast companion space. According to Aresia’s instructions, he brought numerous magical stones, especially those with wind attributes, which the Gryphon enjoyed. He placed the Gryphon cub’s nest in the beast companion space. He arranged a circle of magical stones around the nest, leaving space for the cub to play.
When the Gryphon cub woke up, it was initially startled, but with Amos’s reassurance, it quickly calmed down and seemed content with its new surroundings.
Andalucy didn’t dislike living in a beast space.
