The completion of the long-distance teleportation array brought cheers and excitement to everyone. Even those who were not well-informed understood that it was a monumental breakthrough in magical technology.
The Mage Association’s teleportation arrays were initially used for sending messages, but Isis’ Pavilion had taken it a step further by enabling the teleportation of not only objects but also people. Moreover, it could transport multiple individuals and objects simultaneously, surpassing the capabilities of the Mage Association’s teleportation arrays. It was a complete domination.
The incredible weight and quantity of items that could be transported by the teleportation array amazed everyone. Once they became aware of the teleportation array’s range, they couldn’t contain their excitement.
Frank and Malki, along with their group, congratulated Isis, and even the Duke couldn’t help but praise her with a sense of pride, “Well done.”. However, when he noticed the confused looks from others, he quickly corrected himself and praised Isis more formally, dispelling any doubts.
Aresia, surrounded by the crowd’s compliments, maintained her usual detached demeanor. Even at this moment, she did not show any signs of happiness, only responding with a nod to the praise. The crowd couldn’t help but admire her composure.
If it were anyone else, it would be difficult to remain calm in the face of such praise for such a monumental achievement.
Aresia then erased the coordinates on the other teleportation array and prepared to transport it to Holy Lotean City.
With that completed, the task could finally be considered finished. This mission had provided a reasonable opportunity to enhance their magic skills.
However, Aresia didn’t pay much attention to the social interactions happening around her.
Once again, it seemed that the pressure emanating from Isis was becoming increasingly palpable. It was a clear indication of impatience.
The Duke, who understood Aresia’s personality well, immediately stopped others from gathering around and said, “Enough, let’s disperse. Her excellency, Isis has other matters to attend to. Those who have work to do, work. Those who need rest, rest.”
As soon as the castle’s owner spoke, the others didn’t dare to linger any longer. The Duke’s staff quickly dispersed, leaving only a few mages involved in the teleportation array construction.
These mages were specifically asked to stay, as Isis had something else for them to do.
The teleportation arrays were already completed and did not require their assistance at the moment.
However, Aresia had something to give them.
She took out several notebooks, not magical ones, just ordinary ones, and handed them out one by one.
Frank and the others received the notebooks with confusion, but as they flipped through the pages, they became immediately engrossed.
“This is…!”
The mages were extremely delighted because the notebooks contained detailed magical information, specifically the methods and principles of constructing teleportation arrays.
Aresia explained concisely, “This is your reward for assisting.”
This was the reward Aresia had planned in advance, providing them with the information necessary to construct single-person teleportation arrays.
Although their range was limited, the advantages of these teleportation arrays were significant. One of the key advantages was that they did not need to connect to other teleportation arrays. The user only needed the magic key, which granted them access to the teleportation array. As long as the destination was within the teleportation range, they could return using the magic key.
Furthermore, unlike long-distance teleportation arrays that required a request for permission and coordinate calculations, single-person teleportation arrays were established and operated within the teleportation range. They could connect not only to other single-person teleportation arrays but even to the long-distance teleportation array that Aresia had constructed.
For example, if Frank built a single-person teleportation array in his mage tower within a hundred meters of the castle, with permission, he could directly teleport to the castle’s teleportation array and then further teleport to other locations without any significant delay.
This convenience was highly appreciated, and it did not violate the confidentiality agreement they had signed, as the research material Aresia provided did not include coordinates or methods for calculating them. This meant that no one could easily decipher the long-distance teleportation array.
This was the reward Aresia had carefully considered.
After bidding farewell to the excited mages who were eager to return to their research, Aresia remained behind. She first deactivated the two teleportation arrays and erased the coordinates on the one she planned to take back to Holy Lotean City. Then she had someone call for Charlie to notify him to begin the construction work around the teleportation array.
“Let’s start.”
“Yes, Your excellency Isis.”
With the orders given, people quickly started bustling around the teleportation array. It was believed that it wouldn’t be long before the construction work was completed.
Aresia glanced at the surroundings and confirmed that they didn’t have any lingering matters regarding the construction of the teleportation array. She turned and walked away.
As she entered the castle’s hall, the Duke was already there. Soldiers stood guard around, and Aresia held Isis’ staff as she nodded to the Duke. “You wanted to see me?”
“Yes, I want to ask you when you want to go to Holy Lotean City.”
The Duke walked beside her, and they walked together.
Aresia glanced at her pocket watch momentarily. They had been rushing to finalize the teleportation array since early morning, conducting tests and only having a quick lunch of fruit. It was already two o’clock in the afternoon, not far from evening. “Now, I’ll just pack up and then go.”
“Why the hurry?”
The Duke asked, “Can’t you wait until tomorrow? I’ve already instructed Charlie to prepare for the evening celebration.”
Aresia whispered, “With teleportation magic, I can quickly reach Holy Lotean City. It won’t delay me from returning in time for the banquet.”
The Duke asked, “Is the distance far?”
Aresia replied, “Not really, with teleportation, it won’t take more than a few moments.”
In reality, teleportation did not require this much time. Aresia had factored in the time needed for the teleportation array to be set up.
The Duke questioned, “Is it that fast?”
Aresia explained, “I can return directly using the teleportation array.”
The Duke understood and nodded. “Then I will write a letter. Bring it along, and coordinate with your mother.”
Aresia as Isis knew that her mother might not trust her, so when the Duke insist to that he will write a letter to prove her identity, it saves her a trouble.
The two exchanged a few more words before parting ways. The Duke prepared the letter while Aresia returned to her room to change clothes.
The magical robe Isis wore had been purchased by Aresia during her shopping trip. It wasn’t an extravagant design, just a basic style with various magical symbols added, especially on the inside. The robe aimed for a low-key and practical appearance, not drawing too much attention.
This time, it wasn’t necessary to maintain the mystery by hiding her face. Aresia chose to wear a more revealing high-collar design, with the magical patterns on the robe being more visible. This would give people the immediate impression that she was a powerful mage.
There was no need to worry, as the mage badge given by the Mage Association was attached to her collar, and she made sure it was more noticeable.
This would be Isis’ first public appearance in Holy Lotean City, and she wanted to leave a certain impression.
After changing her clothes, Aresia made arrangements for her clone and went to find the Duke.
As she approached, Aresia saw two envelopes on the Duke’s desk.
The Duke didn’t lift his head and said, “One is for the Gryphon Legion. Have Aaron send it when ready. The other one is for Aaron. Your mother might not be around.”
Aresia nodded and waited nearby as the Duke finished writing the letters. He sealed them with wax and stamped them with the emblem.
Aresia took the letters and said, “I’m leaving now.”
“Return early.”
Taking the letters, Aresia held a gem pendant filled with magic power and activated the teleportation magic.
Although the pendant was a magical accessory, it was actually a defensive item rather than a teleportation tool. Its teleportation function was considered a secret. Aresia used it as a cover-up.
She returned to the Duke’s mansion in Holy Lotean City. Even though it was a one-time teleportation without the need for an incantation, it would still take some time to reach the city. However, with Aresia’s abundant magic power, the consumption for teleporting to Holy Lotean City was minimal, allowing her to complete the journey without delay.
In reality, the magic of teleportation was an eighth-level spell that Frank couldn’t cast. Aresia had sufficient magic power, and the teleportation to Holy Lotean City consumed only a fraction of her energy, which she could easily sustain.
Aresia chose to teleport a little distance away from the Duke’s mansion to avoid appearing directly at the doorstep. It was a precautionary measure to avoid drawing attention.
With a quick incantation, Aresia’s vision changed, and she found herself on a street in front of the Duke’s mansion.
The mansion was an imposing structure, rivaling that of another noble family. However, there were no figures on the street, and magical waves detection runes were present, ensuring that everything remained quiet and unnoticed.
The teleportation activated, and Aresia immediately arrived at the Duke’s mansion’s entrance. However, before anyone could question her, she sensed a slight change in her magic power.
