The Duke’s Daughter is Involved in Magical Technology Chapter 71.2

Some modifications were based on these values, which were not understandable by non-professionals.

After Aaron finished explaining, he actually demonstrated the operation. The cages in the teleportation array were teleported away.

Seeing things disappear from the teleportation array, The Emperor widened his eyes. He remained calm and quickly started asking about the operational distance, number of uses, energy consumption, and any limitations.

Aaron didn’t know the answer to these questions, but the Duke did. He had asked Aresia before.

After explaining, the Duke added, “Isis once filled this magic array with magical crystals. The consumption of magical crystals is extremely high. Just now, teleporting once would consume at least a Level 5 magical crystal’s energy. The cost of the energy board is lower, but it requires the construction of a power station. I am not sure if Holy Lotean City meets the requirements.”

The Emperor couldn’t wait to meet Isis himself.

When Aaron confirmed that they could continue the teleportation, The Emperor was eager to try it himself. However, he was advised against it as the teleportation array had just been activated, and the palace personnel were concerned about its safety. It wouldn’t be appropriate for an Emperor to leave Holy Lotean City, even for a visit to the teleportation array.

The Emperor reluctantly gave up on the idea but allowed a few others to try it instead.

After the successful teleportation of those individuals, they brought back evidence that they had indeed arrived at the Duke’s territory – a commander of a thousand-strong Gryphon legion who had followed the Duke.

Having witnessed the teleportation’s effect, The Emperor felt at ease. He instructed the Duke to make sure to ask Isis on his behalf and expressed that he would send a formal invitation soon.

“I will hold a court banquet specifically for Isis. That would be fitting for her status.”

The Duke reminded him once again, “Your Majesty, Isis really dislikes crowded occasions.”

The Emperor froze for a moment before saying, “I see.”

After seeing off The Emperor, the Duke breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the Emperor didn’t ask about Aresia. He remained in the Duke’s mansion, following the agreement with his wife, waiting for her return.

This time, Grysenna returned quite quickly. She had attended a salon gathering that was held in the afternoon. She greeted the organizers, chatted with a few familiar noblewomen, and then left early, claiming that she wasn’t feeling well.

Concerned individuals inquired if she was unwell, but Grysenna didn’t want to say that she was waiting for the Duke. Instead, she vaguely expressed that she indeed felt a little uncomfortable and managed to leave smoothly.

The Duke didn’t have to wait long. As soon as she returned, he happily announced, “Ah, I have postponed my invitation. Let’s stay in the duchy for a few days.”

The Duke was relieved that The Emperor didn’t ask when he would be back. He had already built ask Aresia and requested her to arrange for their stay. The Duke was pleased that he managed to not disappoint Grysenna.

“Oh, how about we visit one of the five cities together? We can take a flying beast and fly there.”

Although he didn’t have one, some other knights did. Borrowing one temporarily and taking his wife for a ride would not be an issue, as his strength completely suppressed them.

Upon hearing this, Grysenna’s face lit up like the brilliant sun. “Oh, it’s been a long time since we went on a trip together.”

While the sweet couple discussed which city to visit, they temporarily forgot about their children. They would see the city lords during the meeting and make arrangements. Since they were generous with money, it wouldn’t be a problem. They had already contacted the mage guild’s teleportation array, and there had been a few exchanges of letters.

“Well, if I make a request, Jorgus should be willing to help us with this. Furthermore, he is indeed a talented young man. I wonder if Aresia truly have her eyes on him. Engaging him wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

Due to her relationship with Lily, Grysenna had a high affection for Jorgus. Originally, she had a bit of dislike because of his lower status, but when she learns that Jorgus is the son of her bestfriend she started to like Jorgus, coupled with Jorgus handsome looks, and talent she liked him even more.

Grysenna is actually quite mad to Lily because she just disappeared and didn’t even contact her all this time. But when she sent a message to Lily and she reply, based on the apologetic tone in Lily’ recent letters, Grysenna forgave her. The communication between the two was restored.

Grysenna guessed that the trouble Lily encountered was probably related to the Holy Lotean City, and the trouble was probably not small, otherwise she would not have to cut off contact with her, but now that she dares to let his son come to Holy Lotean to study, the trouble has probably been solved.

“By the way, do you remember my friend Lily? Jorgus is Lily’s son. That’s why I am confident that he will help us.” Grysenna said to the Duke.

“Really.” The Duke thought for a while and then found the origin of this name from his memory: “I remember Lily is your close friend since Academy days right?”

“Yes” Grysenna nodded, “I only found out after seeing him, that Jorgus is Lily’s son, then I wrote a letter to Lily, and we exchange letters several times already using the mage guild teleportation array.”

Grysenna is actually bothered a lot about the identity of Jorgus, but she set it aside because she is more worried to Aresia, and Grysenna always have a feeling that with Aresia’s current enthusiasm for magic and magic technology, if she doesn’t pay more attention, she is afraid that Aresia will end up single for the rest of her life.

“Having Amos who is unwilling to find a partner is enough to give me a headache. I don’t want two children in the family to be like this.”

Amos is really different, even though he is not obligated to get married now, he still refuse to get engage, he also doesn’t like to go on a blind date, and he doesn’t have someone he pursue. Grysenna is worried to Amos lovelife because many aristocrats men like him are already married, others are engaged or have someone they pursue. Although Amos already said what type he liked, unfortunately, Grysenna can’t found young woman that fits his standard, and also the people Grysenna knows can’t find anyone who meets his standards.

Aresia seems to have even more trouble than Amos – she seems to be planning to take magic as her lover. This situation is not uncommon among mages, but it still worries Grysenna.

Anyway, she is worried about them, but it was up to her children whether they listened or not.

The Duke doesn’t care much about Grysenna’s approach, as long as his children is well, he doesn’t mind, well at least for the time being.

He is more concerned about one thing: “Since it’s Lily’s child, why doesn’t he have a last name?”

Although commoner people without surnames are common, but there are so many commoner who also have a surnames. This kind of people usually have ancestors who were nobles, but they did not inherit the title.

And Jorgus mother, Lily Garcia, was also a noble lady before. Even if she married a commoner, because the other person did not have a surname, she can still let her son use her surname.

And if the other party has a surname, then it would be even more strange that Jorgus does not have a surname.

Speaking of this, Grysenna did not ask Lily because she thought there might be something bad going on, because Jorgus said that he was raised by Lily alone. Yes, he has never met his father, or in other words, his father is unknown.

“And I heard from Jorgus that people in Santala City call her Mrs. Lily.”

It’s just Mrs. Lily, it means that no one knows her surname is Garcia. This is obviously Lily’s intention to hide it, so no matter what the reason is, Grysenna feels that it is best not to ask.

Asking is risky, as writing letters is not secure enough and could bring trouble to Lily. Perhaps when the teleportation array is built in Santala City, Grysenna will personally ask Lily.

Seeing the Duke deep in thought, Grysenna quickly adds, “I don’t think Lily has any ulterior motives or anything like that. I understand her, and I believe there shouldn’t be any problems. She shouldn’t have cut off ties with me, right?”

In fact, the Duke is starting to doubt if there is something wrong with Lily’s disappearance. Since his wife mentioned it, he tentatively believes her.

Regarding Lily’s situation, the unknown about Jorgus’s father is something that needs careful investigation. If Jorgus agrees to help, they should thoroughly investigate it. Otherwise, if Jorgus agrees to help, but is attacked, her daughter’s life might be in danger.

He won’t tell his wife about this. Grysenna has reservations, as this investigation should be done cautiously.

“But make sure the investigation doesn’t get leaked.”

It shouldn’t affect Lily’s relationship.

“Actually, I can write directly and ask if Jorgus is willing to help. If there is indeed a problem, Lily won’t mind.”

The Duke nods, realizing that it’s a good idea.

Later, Grysenna writes a letter to inquire if their friend is willing to help.
