The Farmer Lord is a Golden Carp Chapter 20

Chapter 20: The Villain Complains First

Jiang Chunhe was a tall and robust man, accustomed to frequent hunting, and possessed considerable strength. However, this was no match for Jiang Mixia’s boundless strength. With a sudden tug, she caused Jiang Chunhe to stagger and fall to the ground, even rolling over.

In this state, Jiang Chunhe felt utterly humiliated. He got up from the ground, pointing at Jiang Mixia’s nose and cursing, “You wretched girl, a worthless and inferior creature. How dare you push me!”

“What if I push you? I’ll even hit you!” Without waiting for Jiang Chunhe to steady himself, Jiang Mixia pushed him down again and rained down punches. “I’ll hit this nauseating creature who casually snatches things from others!”

She had thought Jiang Chunhe had several people with him and feared others seeing. Now that she knew it was just him, she naturally showed no mercy.

Jiang Mixia was, after all, a girl. Her punches weren’t forceful, and her speed wasn’t particularly fast. Nevertheless, her strength was undeniable. As her fists rained down, Jiang Chunhe’s face quickly swelled and turned bruised.

He wanted to fight back, relying on his tall stature and years of hunting, he despised Jiang Mixia so much that he wanted to strangle her. However, despite his skills, in the face of absolute strength, his struggles were futile, and his attempts to resist only made the beating more severe.

Soon, Jiang Chunhe became thoroughly bruised and battered.

It was only then that Jiang Mixia stopped, lowered her sleeves, spat on the ground, and said, “See if you dare to snatch things from others again!”

Spitting out a mouthful of blood due to his swollen face, Jiang Chunhe’s speech became muddled. “You dare to hit me, just wait. I’ll seek justice from the village chief!”

“You go ahead. Hurry up, and don’t let me stop you,” Jiang Mixia snorted, ignoring Jiang Chunhe and proceeding to pick up the rabbit and bamboo from the ground, leading Song Jingyun away.

This wretched creature! Snatching the rabbit he chased out of the mountains, and then daring to strike her cousin!

Jiang Chunhe grimaced as he rose from the ground, gathered his scattered arrows, picked up his bow, and limped home.

Meanwhile, Jiang Mixia headed home, pulling a handcart loaded with bamboo.

Song Jingyun felt uneasy, constantly looking back. When he saw that Jiang Chunhe hadn’t followed, he relaxed slightly but furrowed his brow. “Do you think he’ll file a complaint against us?”

“Let him go,” Jiang Mixia smirked cunningly. “I’m even afraid he won’t go.”

Song Jingyun was taken aback. “What do you mean?”

“You’ll see in a moment,” Jiang Mixia replied.

Jiang Mixia and Song Jingyun arrived at the Jiang family village. Instead of hurrying to take the bamboo home, they made their way to the home of the village chief, Jiang Zhengxin.

As they walked, Jiang Mixia cried loudly and bitterly.

Entering the village in such a state naturally piqued people’s curiosity, and they asked her why she was crying so much.

Jiang Mixia didn’t respond. Instead, she cried even more intensely and continuously, not stopping until she reached the doorway of Jiang Zhengxin’s house. There, with a “plop,” she knelt on the ground, wailing even louder.

Seeing her like this, the villagers became increasingly puzzled.

“What’s wrong with Xia? Why is she crying like this?”

“She didn’t go anywhere in the village. She came straight to the village chief’s house. She must have suffered a great injustice. There’s no need to ask.”

“How much injustice must she have suffered to be driven to this…”

Jiang Mixia used to be simple-minded, but now she’s become much more clever. For her to cry like this despite her wit, the matter must be truly unbearable.

As the crowd discussed, Jiang Zhengxin heard the commotion and came out of his house. He quickly helped Jiang Mixia up. “What’s wrong, Xia?”

“Tell me what’s troubling you. Tell me, and I’ll help you,” he assured her.

“Uncle Zheng, please help me…” Jiang Mixia sobbed, wiping her tears with her sleeve.

Her face, inevitably marked with a bit of dirt from cutting bamboo, was now streaked with tears, making her look even more pitiful.

“Don’t cry. Take your time and tell me what happened,” Jiang Zhengxin comforted her.

After wiping away another tear and taking a few deep breaths, Jiang Mixia spoke slowly, “Jingyun and I went to the foot of the mountain to cut bamboo. I used a machete to catch two rabbits. Then, Jiang Chunhe showed up and immediately tried to snatch my rabbits…”

“He called me a worthless and inferior creature, saying I don’t deserve to eat the rabbits, and that the rabbits should be given to his family. He even said I was a simpleton and couldn’t possibly catch rabbits. When I refused to give them to him, he tried to grab them and even scratched my arm. I pushed him away because of my strength, and then hurriedly brought Jingyun back.”

“He was cursing behind me, saying that if I didn’t give him the rabbits, he would come here to complain to Uncle Zheng, accusing me of bullying him.”

“He’s several years older and much bigger than me. How would I dare to bully him? I’m afraid he’ll come back and fabricate a story, so I came to Uncle Zheng first to seek his support, to prevent being deceived by my brother later.”

Finishing her account, Jiang Mixia burst into loud sobs.

Even Song Jingyun beside her was crying heavily, his thin frame trembling, looking utterly pitiful.

It was one thing for Jiang Mixia to cry like this, but to see a grown man cry like that showed just how harsh Jiang Chunhe’s words were! Moreover, the ongoing discord between Jiang Chunhe’s family and Jiang Mixia’s family had long been known to Jiang Zhengxin, and now, upon hearing this, his brow furrowed. “This Jiang Chunhe is truly intolerable!”

Meanwhile, with a bruised face, Jiang Chunhe had just entered the village, pondering how to lodge his complaint against Jiang Mixia to Jiang Zhengxin and make himself appear more pitiable. However, before he could reach the house, he noticed a crowd gathered at Jiang Zhengxin’s doorstep.

Could that wretched girl have complained first?

Realizing this, Jiang Chunhe inwardly cursed. Suppressing his aches, he hurried forward to see what was happening. As he pushed through the crowd, he witnessed Jiang Mixia sobbing while Jiang Zhengxin criticized him.

After being beaten and falsely accused, Jiang Chunhe was seething with anger. He charged forward, “You wretched girl!”

He reached out to strike.

“Brother, don’t hit me! If you really want them, I’ll give you the rabbits…” Jiang Mixia wailed and scrambled away, looking at Jiang Chunhe with fear and horror written all over her face.

“Do you still want to hit someone in my presence?” Seeing this unfold, Jiang Zhengxin was filled with fury. He grabbed Jiang Chunhe by the collar. “Kneel!”

Fearful of Jiang Zhengxin, Jiang Chunhe promptly knelt down, but he quickly retorted with a face full of indignation, “Uncle Zheng, don’t believe Jiang Mixia’s nonsense! I didn’t hit her. It was her who took advantage of me. She’s the one who hit me!”

“Brother, you…” Jiang Mixia exclaimed, “You’re trying to frame me, so you’ve resorted to hitting yourself like this?”
