After exchanging a glance, the two individuals nodded in unison, “In that case, we’ll sell this conch shell design pencil to Miss Tang.”
Seeing their agreement, Tang Yuehua breathed a sigh of relief and was overjoyed, “Thank you, sir and madam.”
With the deal settled, money exchanged for the pencil, payment was made on the spot.
With the transaction completed, the three of them went their separate ways.
Leaving some spectators dumbfounded.
“Miss Tang is truly generous, paying three hundred taels for a pencil that cost one hundred and twenty taels. It’s a bit extravagant, some might say.”
“Don’t speak without understanding. The Tang family is an esteemed and upright lineage. Miss Tang has been meticulously raised since childhood. She wouldn’t act foolishly. Miss Tang simply compensated due to her reluctance to take something others cherished.”
“Indeed, only through such actions can Miss Tang demonstrate that she is not one to bully others with power. It is truly admirable. On another note, the luck of that young couple is truly remarkable.”
“That’s right. Buying a pencil for one hundred and twenty taels and selling it for three hundred taels immediately afterward, such profitable transactions are indeed hard to come by.”
“It truly makes one envious…”
While everyone praised and admired, the two sisters who had mocked and ridiculed Song Jingyun and Jiang Mixia earlier now had very unpleasant expressions on their faces.
They had just mocked the man for his unrestrained shopping habits, with the wife failing to advise him properly, appearing to be a couple squandering money. Yet, in the blink of an eye, their faces turned into a mess reminiscent of a pig’s head.
Unbelievable!
Their fortune seemed a bit too good.
If only they could encounter someone as generous as Miss Tang, it would be great.
The two sisters were filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred written all over their faces. They even lost interest in continuing their leisurely shopping and simply settled the bill for the items they had picked at the counter before hastily leaving.
Just as they stepped out, the two sisters stomped their feet in frustration, increasingly bitter about why they didn’t have such good luck.
While grumbling to themselves, the younger sister suddenly slipped, causing her body to uncontrollably fall backward. Instinctively, her hands reached out and grabbed onto her sister’s arm.
Clang!
The two sisters fell hard on their backsides, grimacing in pain, their faces contorted.
Most notably, the wooden box they were carrying flew out due to the fall, landing in the middle of the street.
The box flew open, and various rouge and powders purchased from the shop scattered all over the ground.
A carriage came speeding by, likely because the owner was in a hurry, and the driver, preoccupied, simply steered the carriage forcefully over the scattered items.
Cries and shouts suddenly filled the street…
Meanwhile, Tang Yuehua, feeling joyful for acquiring the conch shell design pencil, made her way home, “Today has truly been remarkably lucky, encountering individuals willing to compromise. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
The maid couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, “I can’t help but feel that the couple from earlier were not very bright.”
“What do you mean?” Tang Yuehua closed the brocade box and placed it beside her.
“The lady revealed her identity, and the other party seemed like a scholar rushing to the capital for examinations. Even if they didn’t flatter the lady, they should have been polite. Yet, in the end, they ended up taking all the silver…”
