Chapter 30:《Count’s POV》And The Karma Will Come Back to You  4

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

What is this smell?

The room was filled with a horrendously fishy smell. It was as if seaweed, all sorts of crustacean, all of which had a pungent scent of the sea, were being stuffed into an airtight box. Then the said box was left to rot under direct sunlight for several days….

“Sistana, Nador-kun is here…”

“Nador-sama is here…?”

To make matters worse, the room was separated in half by a black curtain hanging down from the ceiling. Sistana seemed to be staying on the other side of the curtain.

…. Are they throwing something from that side?

The black curtain that was hanging weirdly high would sometimes sway and bobbed, like something was happening on the other side. Her voice also sounded weird, almost like a nasal voice.

“Now that the two of you are here, please eat this.”

An audible clank could be heard in this room. It seemed like some sort of plate was being placed in front of Sistana. At the same time, Countess Lyran, Bavalein, appeared and placed the plate she had been holding on the table Nador had been sitting at.

“….. Uugh…. Gh….”

If Miltia were to see this, perhaps she’d immediately deemed this as 「squid’s leg」but for Nador, this thing sitting on his plate was nothing but 「a part of grotesque sea demon」. Furthermore, there was some sort of unknown pus scattered everywhere.

I-I have to eat this?! I’d rather kiss the drain 100 times rather than eating this thing.

“Nador-sama… Will you please eat this for my sake?”

“O-Of course Sistana!”

But, contrary to his heart, Nador immediately answered 「YES」to Sistana’s beckoning. He couldn’t afford to say「NO WAY」at this point.

“T-Thank you for the food!!”

Nador scooped the unidentifiable demon’s part and… Chomp! He shoved the thing that had been letting out such a deep, pungent smell into his mouth.

UWOOOHHHH!! EAT!! EAT IT, NADOR!!!! DON’T TASTE IT!! JUST FOCUS ON GETTING THE THING INSIDE YOUR MOUTH DOWN TO YOUR STOMACH!!! HOLD YOUR BREATH!! SHIT! IF ONLY I COULD PLUCK MY NOSE AND TONGUE OFF JUST THIS ONCE!!! SWALLOW, SWALLOW ITTTTT!!! THIS IS YOUR BRIDGE TO GLORY NADORRRRR!!!!!

“Ugh… Ghu-…. Ngh… ARRRRRBRRRRRR…..”

…….. Impossible.

“……… Tch!”

In the midst of being assaulted by a whirlwind of nausea, chill and hives all over his body, Nador could vaguely hear Bavalein click her tongue but his body was in too much pain for him to focus on something else.

It seemed after the curse was overwritten by Duke Lönnrot, the curse evolved, bringing forth a more troublesome variety of demons with it.

In fact, this thing that looked like squid legs… It actually belonged to the『Great Squid Demon』, a type of giant squid that lived deep in the sea. Its skin and body fluids were laced with a very lethal poison that only worked on men, making eating this squid demon raw a very dangerous feat to do.

In addition, the squid’s poison… The reason why that poison was extremely lethal only to men was because this poison had the properties to accumulate in a specific internal genitalia called 『corpus cavernosum』. This corpus cavernosum also existed in women but corpus cavernosum existed more in me. The ratio couldn’t be compared to women.

When more blood that had been contained by the poison flowed to corpus cavernosum, it would bring forth intense pain, leaving the victim to writhe in agony.

If there were too much poison in the body, it could potentially cause necrosis. Because this poison didn’t have any anti-poison counterpart yet, this poison was often called home-killer.

Furthermore, even though Lyran county was close to the sea, things from the sea or seafood… Unfortunately for Nador, the people in Lyran county had this mindset that went『seafood is a food for commoner, noble has to eat meat, as fitting to their high nobility 』. Because of that, there was no one in this mansion who knew how to properly prepare this poisonous squid….

For that very same reason, the leg of the 『Great Squid Demon』 was cut was it was, without even washing it first. In addition to that, no one even knew when the chef had prepared this squid leg.

“Nador-sama, yo-you’re so cruel…!”

Together with Sistana’s voice, from between the black curtain, something that resembled a large squid’s leg slithered out.

“You didn’t eat it while thinking about me!! Uwahhhhhhhh!!!”

“W-Whoa?! UGHHHH!!”

And then, with the speed of a light Sistana swung Nador’s body around like a whirlwind.

“Sistana! Calm down! Sistana!”

But, Nador who had already passed out from shock, didn’t get to see his beautiful Sistana covered in pus and grime with giant demon squid legs growing from her back.

Was it misfortune or fortune…? And could Nador’s genitalia, which had been covered in great demon squid poison…. Could still… Be used from now on….?

As of now, nobody knew for sure.

Guess Sistana will be stuck since she doesn’t have the money to bring in curse breaker fiancees. I wonder though why Marcel was so harsh on the Miltia at first when he’s the one who sent for her and the others!

Thanks for the translations so far I enjoyed reading.

Unfortunately I don’t feel bad for him. At least he’s still alive despite being a jerk (⇀‸↼‶)

If he’s still alive, then I think the translation would be “passed out” instead of “passed away”. Passed away means to die, whereas passed out means to fall unconscious.
