Fight
Ruan Yuexi made a face at his back. Finding him incredibly annoying. She hadn’t met anyone as detestable as him.
Unfortunately, she still had to deal with him to reach her goal. Once she reached her goal, she would get as far away as possible.
However, she was surprised that Tang Qingqing got involved. In the original plot, it was only said that Shang Yao went to the wrong room.
Never mind, she shook her head. It seemed the original plot wasn’t entirely accurate. Just like today, she almost got plotted against without knowing. She had to be more cautious in the future.
Meanwhile, in room 2888, Liu Yaran was still trembling. Shang Yao’s departure hadn’t made her feel any better.
Tang Qingqing buried her head in her knees, lost in thought.
Brother Liu was lying on the floor, unable to move. Secretary Fang entered the room, her face expressionless as usual.
“Take him out and make sure it’s cleaned up,” Secretary Fang said, lowering her voice for the last part.
Two bodyguards responded and carried Brother Liu out, leaving Liu Yaran, Tang Qingqing, and Secretary Fang in the room.
Secretary Fang looked at the two women, disgusted by their plot against Madam, her eyes filled with disdain.
“The president is letting you go,” she said, then turned and left the room, not bothering to speak further.
Liu Yaran was overjoyed, losing her usual elegant demeanor. “Shang Yao isn’t angry.” She was scared, but she believed Shang Yao wouldn’t dare blame her. As long as she pleaded with Shang Xiaolan, Shang Yao couldn’t do anything to her.
She had no idea that “big things” were waiting for her, and Shang Yao would never let her off easily.
Tang Qingqing didn’t move. Liu Yaran didn’t insist on a response. She had no idea that Tang Qingqing was here to interrupt her. If she had known, she probably wouldn’t have been so nice.
Liu Yaran had just left when Lu Yiliang arrived. He saw Tang Qingqing crouching on the floor and hurried over, worried something had happened to her.
“What happened? What’s wrong?” He had been delayed by others for over an hour and rushed over as soon as he heard something was wrong.
Tang Qingqing, seeing her support, burst into tears in his arms, crying as if she had been wronged.
Although Lu Yiliang’s impression of Tang Qingqing had fallen, she was still someone he had loved. Seeing the marks on her neck, his anger surged.
“Who did this to you? Who dared to hurt you?” he asked, hugging her protectively.
Tang Qingqing, tearful, shook her head. “It’s my fault for trying to save Brother Shang Yao. He misunderstood because of Yuexi, so he…”
Lu Yiliang pressed his lips together, his gaze fixed on the marks on her neck. “Shang Yao went too far.” No matter what, he shouldn’t hurt someone.
Tang Qingqing shook her head again, looking around pitifully. “It’s not Brother Shang Yao’s fault. It’s Yuexi who misunderstood me, so Brother Shang Yao attacked me.”
Even if Lu Yiliang confronted Shang Yao, Ruan Yuexi’s pride would prevent her from exposing this. She wouldn’t suffer a loss.
Lu Yiliang, his face filled with anger, left the room alone after instructing the bodyguards to take care of Tang Qingqing.
Watching his back, Tang Qingqing smiled weakly. Even if she couldn’t get close to Shang Yao, she would have Lu Yiliang. Thinking of the way he looked at Ruan Yuexi, her expression darkened.
Ruan Yuexi was led by Shang Yao to the first floor, where the party was winding down.
“Brother Yao, why don’t we tell Lu Yiliang and then go back?” Ruan Yuexi suggested. Ruan Yuexi saw Ye Yishen and felt she was always in danger.
Shang Yao’s face was cold, but he did not object to Ruan Yuexi’s proposal. Suddenly, he seemed to have noticed something and cast his sharp gaze behind Ruan Yuexi.
Before she could react, Shang Yao pulled her behind him. Lu Yiliang charged at Shang Yao, punching him. People around them screamed.
Ruan Yuexi was utterly bewildered. What had gotten into Lu Yiliang? After taking a punch from Lu Yiliang, Shang Yao remained calm and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his finger.
“Shang Yao, if Qingqing did something wrong, you could have just pointed it out. Why did you have to lay hands on her?” Lu Yiliang’s anger has not subsided, and he moved forward to strike Shang Yao again.
Ruan Yuexi thought Shang Yao would surely retaliate, but to her confusion, he showed no intention of fighting back. This made her very confused. She would rather believe that there is no Ultraman in this world.
Feng Yi quickly intervened to stop the fight, holding Lu Yiliang back. “Old Lu, what are you doing?!”
Lu Yiliang was still consumed with rage. “Ask him what he did! Hitting a woman—what kind of man does that?”
Feng Yi was stunned. He glanced at Shang Yao. “Who did he hit? Isn’t Ruan Yuexi perfectly fine?”
Lu Yiliang remained silent, and Feng Yi guessed the answer. The only person who could make Lu Yiliang lose his cool like this was Tang Qingqing. “Tang Qingqing?”
How could Shang Yao have gotten involved with Tang Qingqing? And even hit her? Feng Yi couldn’t wrap his mind around it.
People around them began to form opinions about Shang Yao, though none dared to voice them aloud. Everyone knew how ruthless Shang Yao could be.
“Brother Yao, did you really hit her?” Feng Yi awkwardly asked Shang Yao.
Shang Yao responded with silence, confirming Lu Yiliang’s accusation.
“You two should stop fighting. Brother Yao, how about you apologize to Tang Qingqing?” Feng Yi quickly tried to mediate as Lu Yiliang’s anger flared up again.
“Do you want to die?” Shang Yao coldly uttered three words.
Feng Yi immediately stopped trying to persuade him, but this only enraged Lu Yiliang further. “Shang Yao, if you don’t apologize to Tang Qingqing, I’m not done with you!”
The onlookers’ impression of Shang Yao worsened. He had hit a defenseless woman and refused to apologize.
Ruan Yuexi, the only one who knew the truth, actually found Shang Yao a bit pitiable at this moment. What was this? Had she forgotten the time Shang Yao tried to drown her? She should feel sorry for herself.
Ruan Yuexi brushed aside her chaotic thoughts and stepped forward to stop Lu Yiliang from attacking Shang Yao again.
“Enough!” Ruan Yuexi stood in front of Shang Yao, unable to watch any longer. Tang Qingqing was not innocent. Even if she wasn’t the mastermind, she was an accomplice.
Shang Yao’s gaze was fixed on Ruan Yuexi, a faint, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips.
Lu Yiliang frowned deeply, seeing Ruan Yuexi standing in front of Shang Yao. “Move.”
Ruan Yuexi didn’t budge. “I don’t know what Tang Qingqing told you, but Shang Yao did choke her. However, she deserved it.”
Lu Yiliang pressed his lips together, seemingly shocked by Ruan Yuexi’s harshness.
“Tang Qingqing’s intentions were good. You’ve misunderstood her.” Lu Yiliang thought Ruan Yuexi had incited Shang Yao against Tang Qingqing, his fondness for Ruan Yuexi diminishing rapidly.
Ruan Yuexi was exasperated. The female lead, Tang Qingqing, was quite something, instantly turning the blame on her and Shang Yao, making them the unforgivable villains.
Feng Yi tried to persuade Ruan Yuexi, “Tang Qingqing is timid. Don’t hold it against her.”
Ruan Yuexi wanted to roll her eyes. “I don’t care what kind of person she is, but Tang Qingqing and others tried to drug Brother Yao and even intended to harm me. I haven’t reported her only out of consideration for you two.”
Shang Yao: “…” Drugging? What…?
The onlookers were shocked by the twists and turns. If it were true, Tang Qingqing and her friends were too bold to dare to touch Shang Yao. Were they tired of living?
Lu Yiliang’s pupils dilated, his mind immediately rejecting Ruan Yuexi’s claim. “Impossible. Qingqing isn’t that kind of person.”
Feng Yi was also stunned, but Ruan Yuexi didn’t seem to be lying.
“Whether you believe it or not, the facts speak for themselves. I was lucky to escape. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.” Ruan Yuexi didn’t like such scheming.
She just wanted to earn her abuse points and then leave.
“It’s you who should apologize to Brother Yao.” Ruan Yuexi spoke again.
Lu Yiliang’s pupils still trembled. “I… “
Should he believe Ruan Yuexi? The image of Tang Qingqing’s wounded state flashed in his mind.
“Of course, believe it or not, it’s up to you.” Ruan Yuexi shrugged, indifferent.
