Chapter 68: 疼宋知许，肚子疼

“It hurts, Song Zhi Xu, my stomach hurts.”

When Song Zhi Xu saw Lin Ran crying, his heart panicked and he hurriedly sat back on the edge of the bed, taking the person into his arms and gently patting his back to coax him, “Ran Ran, baby, what’s wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden? Did I wake you up?” 

Song Zhi Xu knew that Lin Ran hadn’t slept enough, but he was afraid that if he went to work without telling Lin Ran, then Lin Ran would be scared when he woke up from his sleep and couldn’t find him.

Lin Ran shook his head, pounced into Song Zhi Xu’s arms and hugged him tightly, “Song Zhi Xu, don’t go. Ran Ran doesn’t want to be alone at home.” 

Lin Ran’s tears kept flowing down his face, just now Song Zhi Xu was about to leave and this was really making him scared. 

“Ran Ran, don’t cry.” Song Zhi Xu frowned slightly, hugged the person in his embrace and gently patted his back, after thinking about it he then added, “Ran Ran, I haven’t been to the company for a long time, I still have things to do today. How about I take you there with me?”

Probably because he had been away on the business trip for too long before, so after he came back this time Lin Ran was even more clingy than before, and also seemed to be a lot more delicate and weepy than before.

It should be because he had been gone for more than half of the month last time, making Lin Ran insecure.

When Lin Ran heard that Song Zhi Xu was going to take him with him, he raised head up from Song Zhi Xu’s embrace, his cheeks still wet as he nodded lightly, and replied with a nasal sound, “Hm”.

Song Zhi Xu was relieved to see that his tears had finally stopped, so he picked him up from the bed and took him to wash up.

After cleaning up, Song Zhi Xu found an outfit for Lin Ran to change into and took him downstairs to make breakfast, before taking Lin Ran out with him in the car after they finished eating breakfast. He spent some more time at home with Lin Ran in the morning, so when he arrived at the office, almost everyone had already arrived too. The moment Song Zhi Xu took Lin Ran out of the lift, he drew everyone’s attention to them. 

The secretary and assistants who were on the same floor greeted Song Zhi Xu, who nodded slightly and pulled Lin Ran inside. Lin Ran was a little uncomfortable by their stares and subconsciously leaned towards Song Zhi Xu, holding him and wanting to climb on his body. Song Zhixu didn’t even care that there were people around, so he picked Lin Ran up directly and let him sit on his arm, carrying him into his office.

As soon as Song Zhi Xu left, some gossipy female secretaries in the office immediately approached Assistant Zhou and asked him in a low voice, 

“Assistant Zhou, you are always following the boss, do you know who this person is? It’s surprising that he was hugged and picked up by the boss.”

Although Lin Ran had been here before, it was the first time he had been hugged by Song Zhi Xu which inevitably caused a discussion.

Although Song Zhi Xu didn’t say it directly, Assistant Zhou probably have guessed something, but this kind of thing, he also couldn’t say anything about it, and when he got tired of being pestered, he just said, “This is boss’s friend’s little brother, he asked the boss to take care of him for the time being. Look, he was scared by you guys. Just hug a little, what’s wrong with it? Everyone of you, what are you guys asking this for? Go to work now.”

The secretaries looked at each other and knew that Assistant Zhou was not going to say anything, so they could only leave helplessly.

Assistant Zhou sorted out the papers that had accumulated over the past few days and gave them all to Song Zhi Xu, but when he pushed open the door, he saw Song Zhi Xu sitting in his boss’s chair with a sleepy Lin Ran in his embrace. He couldn’t help but “tsk, tsk” twice in his heart. He had previously guessed who Song Zhi Xu was having a secret relationship with, not letting anyone know about it, but he didn’t expect it to be so high profile now.

Just now, he hugged him directly outside, and now Lin Ran was even sitting on his lap.

“Did you come in just to stare at us?” Song Zhi Xu saw his assistant standing in the doorway for a while, holding the documents in his arms and froze in there. He reminded him in such a low voice, only then did the assistant jerk back to his senses and hurriedly walked forward, placing all the papers in his arms on the table in front of Song Zhi Xu. 

“Boss, these are the documents that need your personal signature these days when you are not in the company, please take a look at them.”

Song Zhi Xu glanced at those piles of documents and nodded his head. The assistant was just about to leave but he called him back instead. 

Song Zhi Xu looked at Lin Ran, who was already on the verge of falling asleep, therefore he slowly picked him up, carried him into the lounge, put him on the bed and let him sleep. Lin Ran has been quite sleepy lately. Moreover, he was woken up this morning, not having enough sleep. This time, he definitely needed to catch up on his sleep.

After standing in the lounge for a while, he waited until Lin Ran had fallen into deep sleep before Song Zhi Xu left and walked out, but the assistant he had called was still waiting outside. Song Zhi Xu handed him the keys to the house.

“Take someone to the villa where I live to install surveillance, in every room, preferably without leaving a dead corner, but don’t touch anything in the house.” The assistant took the key dumbfoundedly, a little surprised. 

The assistant then expressionlessly asked him again, 

“Then is it still needed (to put it in) the bathroom?”

If no dead angles were left, then wouldn’t it mean that even going to the toilet would be monitored? 

Song Zhi Xu nodded, “The bathroom too, and connect it to my phone after the installation.”

Song Zhi Xu had wanted to install the surveillance camera before, after all, sometimes Lin Ran was alone at home so he didn’t feel at ease at all. Just right this time, he took Lin Ran to the company with him, so there was no one at home. He then asked his assistant to take someone in to install it.

The assistant nodded agreely, he then took the key and left.

Song Zhi Xu was indeed a bit busy, so he sat down behind his desk again and began to work. 

It was all because he hadn’t been to the office for some time. After some time had passed, his secretary knocked on the door and informed him of the meeting.

Song Zhi Xu agreed and took another look at the lounge, opened the door to see that Lin Ran was still asleep, he hesitated for a while, afraid that if he woke Lin Ran up, Lin Ran would cry, so he didn’t call him.

Song Zhi Xu took the documents out of the office and walked towards the meeting room while speaking to his secretary.

“No one is allowed to enter my office.”

“Okay.” The secretary agreed before Song Zhi Xu entered the conference room, the people inside were already seated and waiting for him, he thought to finish it quickly, so when he went back, Lin Ran might not be awake yet.

Lin Ran took a nap in the lounge and when he woke up Song Zhi Xu was not with him, Lin Ran looked around and froze for a while before he realized where he was now.

He had been here before, he had spent quite a lot of time in Song Zhi Xu’s lounge so he still remembered it here. 

Lin Ran slid off the bed and opened the door without wearing his shoes, but when he saw that the office was empty and there was no Song Zhi Xu behind the desk, panic returned to Lin Ran’s face.

Song Zhi Xu was not there, Song Zhi Xu let him stay here by himself and left. Lin Ran’s heart panicked for a moment, fearing that Song Zhi Xu had gone on another business trip,then he would not be able to see Song Zhi Xu for a long, long time again.

Without even thinking about it, Lin Ran ran outside with his bare feet and opened the door. Because he was in such a hurry that he bumped into a female secretary who was passing outside. Lin Ran ran in such a hurry and the other party didn’t pay attention, so in one fell swoop, both of them fell to the ground. Lin Ran’s stomach felt a stinging pain, but he quickly ignored it.

He bit his lip as he got up from the floor, lowering his head while he said in a small voice, “So…sorry, Ran Ran, Ran Ran run too fast.”

The secretary who he had bumped into was wearing high heels and covered her feet on the floor for a moment and when she looked up she saw a timid youngster with his head bowed, her face instantly tinged with anger.

She stood up and gave Lin Ran another hard push, pushing him to bump against the wall before pointing at him and said, 

“Are you blind? You don’t even look at the road, what are you running around for, with so many people upstairs?”

Lin Ran’s face turned pale as he covered his stomach and said in a small voice, “I’m sorry, Ran Ran just in such a hurry. Ran Ran can’t find Song Zhi Xu.”

There were many people around who heard the commotion and recognized Lin Ran, but they didn’t come over to say anything, because that secretary was brought in by the company’s vice president, moreover, she was always a bully and she always coming to the office late every day, and most of the office staffs there wanted to see her to be ridiculed. 

“You’re a fool right? Why are you pretending to be delicate?” 

The female secretary pushed Lin Ran once again, “You made me twist my foot, what’s the point of apologizing?” 

Lin Ran did not know what to do and at a complete loss, he could only hug himself tightly in fear.

Finally, someone couldn’t stand it, came over to persuade her and moved closer to the female secretary’s ear then said, “Forget it, this is the person Mr. Song brought with him this morning, you’re already fine, right? Just bump a little, you didn’t even get hurt. “

She was able to stand up on her own and push someone, so it wasn’t that serious. 

“President?” The female secretary sized up Lin Ran for a moment, still a little unconvinced, but seeing that Lin Ran had just come out of the CEO office, so she was a little unsure of what to do for a moment.

Just when she was about to leave, she saw the person in front of her pale and covering his stomach, taking two steps backwards and sliding helplessly to the floor with a look of pain on his face. Large drops of sweat slid down Lin Ran’s forehead; it was as if there were knives stirring inside his underbelly, causing him to have difficulty in breathing, “Song,Song Zhi Xu.” Lin Ran spat out a few simple words as he raised his head but there was no Song Zhi Xu around, only unfamiliar faces that had noticed the situation over here and had come over.

“This, what’s with this person, all of a sudden like this?” 

A voice came from beside, and someone else said, “He fell, right? Hurry up and find Mr. Song ah.” Someone reacted and ran quickly to the meeting room. 

It didn’t take long for a panic-stricken Song Zhi Xu to quickly come running out, seeing the deathly pale face Lin Ran who was leaning against the wall, he trembled for a while before he ran towards him and carefully pulled him into his embrace. 

“Ran Ran, what’s wrong? Does your stomach hurt?”

When Lin Ran saw Song Zhi Xu, tears fell down in an instant as he pulled Song Zhi Xu’s clothes and clutched it tightly.

“It hurts, Song Zhi Xu, my stomach hurts.”

“Let’s, let’s go to the hospital, I’ll take you to the hospital.” Song Zhi Xu picked Lin Ran up. The assistant was not there, so he called the company’s driver. They got into the car as the driver sat in front while Song Zhi Xu hugged Lin Ran and sat in the back seat. He took Lin Ran in his embrace and hugged him tightly. He was sweating as he was worried about Ran Ran, “Ran Ran, don’t be afraid. We will soon arrive at the hospital.” Song Zhi Xu whispered in Lin Ran’s ear.

Lin Ran nodded his head with a pale face, unable to speak out because of pain. The driver stepped on the gas pedal and drove the car as fast as he could to the entrance of the hospital. As soon as the car stopped, Song Zhi Xu picked Lin Ran up from the car.

Only when Lin Ran’s body left the seat did he see a wet spot on the leather seat. Song Zhi Xu froze as he was dumbfounded, reaching out to touch it. When he withdrew his hand, it was already bright red on one side. Lin Ran was bleeding.
