Chapter 17 – “Wife, I Didn’t Mean To”
Zhao Yuzhu already knew this was what her aunt came to talk about. “You don’t need to say it, Aunt. After you all went back yesterday, I went over with Wenchuan. I even tried to persuade cousin.”
“What did your cousin say?”
“She didn’t listen to me.” Zhao Yuzhu sighed. “But don’t worry, Aunt, I’ll keep trying to talk her around. She’s still so young—how can she live her whole life like this?”
“If she had even a third of your cleverness, we wouldn’t have to worry about her so much!” Wang Guifen said.
This niece of hers was very sharp, but her own daughter was born a little slow. She couldn’t tell right from wrong—she’d probably help someone count money even after they’d sold her!
But it wasn’t like she and Su Zhenguo were some sort of heartless villains. To be fair, their family values were actually quite good!
Both of their sons were raised well.
Sure, they spoiled their youngest daughter a little more, but it was all within reason. They never gave her the stars if she asked for them, or fed her unrealistic expectations just to indulge her.
They really had put effort into raising her right.
But somehow, she still turned out like this. It was truly exhausting!
Hearing such praise, Zhao Yuzhu looked very pleased with herself. She smiled and said: “Don’t worry, Aunt. I’ll definitely keep trying to persuade cousin. Oh, right, Aunt—what’s in that package?”
“It’s Changdong’s old cotton coat. Your cousin told me to bring it back and change out the cotton.”
“Cousin really is something. Doesn’t she know how busy you are? I heard from my mom that your business has been booming, right?”
“There’s no such thing as booming business. I’m just earning some hard-earned money.” Wang Guifen replied.
Zhao Yuzhu thought to herself, Hard-earned money? More like earnings that probably surpass most people’s salaries!
Otherwise, how could she boldly declare she’d return the three years’ worth of living expenses her daughter spent at her in-laws’? That kind of confidence only came with financial backing!
And this was exactly one of the reasons she was jealous of Su Luyun.
Dumb as she might be, she was truly blessed. From childhood, she lived a life that made all the neighboring girls envious!
Her Uncle Su Zhenguo was a skilled worker, with a stable job and consistently high income.
Her Aunt Wang Guifen had a sewing machine and could take on handcraft jobs to supplement the family income.
So while other kids were struggling to have enough to eat, Su Luyun could enjoy dumplings from time to time!
When it came to clothes, the rest of them had to wear worn-out hand-me-downs from their older sisters, but not Su Luyun!
And then there were other things—like old clothes, faded hair ties. If Su Luyun didn’t want them and gave them to her, she’d treat them like treasures!
She lived so well in her natal home, and after marriage, her life remained just as comfortable!
On the surface, it looked like she’d lived like a widow for the past three years, but the truth was, those three years had been sweet and cozy for Su Luyun.
Less than three months into the marriage, she bought her own place and moved out. Her sisters-in-law couldn’t touch her, her mother-in-law didn’t interfere, and her husband handed over all his money to let her spend as she pleased.
Compared to her cousin, Zhao Yuzhu, who married around the same time—she only moved into this tube-shaped apartment three months ago with Li Wenchuan!
Before that, her days at the Li family’s ancestral home were truly miserable!
Her sisters-in-law didn’t get along with her, and her mother-in-law wasn’t any kinder. Since she didn’t have a job, they were always nitpicking her!
Sure, she gained a good reputation in the neighborhood for being meek and tolerant, but only she knew how stifled she felt inside!
In comparison, hadn’t Su Luyun lived like a fairy these three years?
And even now, there were things she still couldn’t compare with.
Because every month, she had to reach out to Li Wenchuan and ask for living expenses!
Although Li Wenchuan never said anything, how could life with an outstretched hand ever compare to the freedom of being in charge of the family finances like Su Luyun?
She had tried hinting to Li Wenchuan that she wanted to manage the money, but he flat-out refused.
He said he would handle it himself!
Zhao Yuzhu could only stew silently in anger, with no way to do anything about it.
Wang Guifen didn’t stay long and left shortly afterward, reminding Zhao Yuzhu once again to try and persuade her cousin more often.
Zhao Yuzhu naturally agreed, but the moment she turned around, a cold sneer crept onto her face.
Just before her aunt arrived, she had only just gotten home. Where had she gone? Of course, to find Sun Congxing!
She went to tell Sun Congxing all about Zhou Changdong’s condition—along with Su Luyun’s sudden change in attitude toward him.
She figured it wouldn’t be long before Sun Congxing came looking for Su Luyun. And with that pig brain of Su Luyun’s, even if she knew that Sun Congxing already had a family in the countryside, could she really resist his honeyed words?
She was just waiting for the day Su Luyun rotted and stank!
Su Luyun had no idea that her cousin’s hatred for her was as deep and endless as a bottomless pit—but it didn’t matter.
Because she loved seeing her cousin so consumed with jealousy yet helpless to do anything about it!
Right now, though, Su Luyun was busy—busy changing Zhou Changdong’s pants.
She had only been teasing Zhou Changdong earlier. She’d found that this man was particularly easy to coax. Just a few words, some chatting, a little affection, and he’d be beaming with joy.
But while teasing him, he suddenly blurted out, 【I… I can’t hold it anymore.】
Su Luyun, inexperienced as she was, didn’t immediately understand what he couldn’t hold.
By the time she realized, a wet patch had already bloomed across the front of Zhou Changdong’s pants.
Zhou Changdong was mortified. 【Wife, I… I…】
Only then did Su Luyun understand. She quickly set about changing his pants and comforted him gently: “It’s my fault, it’s my fault. I forgot I gave you three bowls of soup—of course you needed to relieve yourself. I’ve never taken care of anyone before, so I was careless. But it’s okay. First time’s a learning experience. Next time I’ll know what to do. Let’s get these pants changed.”
As she spoke, she went to fetch a basin of water and brought in clean pants.
No longer intending to follow the original plot as cannon fodder, and genuinely willing to live her life with this man, Su Luyun had fully immersed herself in her new role. Without any hesitation, she pulled down his pants.
Even though she had felt it with her own hands just that morning, nothing compared to the visual impact now.
The little green tea muttered in a soft, shy voice: “So… so scary.”
Her voice was faint, her hands trembled slightly, but she moved efficiently.
She shifted Zhou Changdong’s position and began to wipe him.
Back first, then front.
Su Luyun’s cheeks burned as she cleared her throat. “Ahem… gotta clean properly so there won’t be any smell.”
With that, she turned into a bathhouse grandpa—scrubbing him down thoroughly and dutifully!
Zhou Changdong realized that his wife was only shy—she didn’t feel disgusted or blame him at all.
That made the self-conscious man feel a little better, though he was still embarrassed… and even more so by what came next!
Sure enough, as Su Luyun continued wiping, she suddenly saw it reacting to her.
It made her freeze on the spot!
A single thought popped into her head: It’s… it’s so big. Can… can she handle it?
Wait, what was she even thinking!
Su Luyun’s pretty face turned beet red.
She quickly finished cleaning him up, pulled his pants back on, and rushed outside with the water basin to get some air!
She glanced at the soiled pants and sheets and, out of habit, washed them too—but her head was full of that image.
For someone who’d never had any sexual experience in both her current and past life, it left her completely flustered, face red and heart pounding like mad!
Once the pants and sheets were washed and hung up, she finally calmed her racing heart and went back inside. But her cheeks were still glowing pink.
【Wife, I didn’t mean to.】
Zhou Changdong was embarrassed too, but his body’s reaction wasn’t something he could control.
The little seductress, her face flushed and eyes brimming with charm, hummed softly: “You bad thing. You can’t even move and still act like this. Men really do need to be plastered to the wall before they behave. Be honest—tell me everything. In the past three years out there, did you ever do anything behind my back?”
