She walked over and softly asked, “Military Officer, have you been waiting long?”

Gu Chuan’s deep-set eyes fixed on the approaching woman, his voice low and resonant, “Waiting for you, no matter how long, is never too long.”

Jiang Mi lightly licked her lips, feeling an inexplicable urge to kiss Gu Chuan.

But noticing the surrounding onlookers’ eager stares out of the corner of her eye, Jiang Mi’s pale cheeks flushed red. She cleared her throat, “Let’s start filming first.”

Wang Yi quickly took over, “Let’s film the scene where Qiluo entices the officer.”

In this scene, Qiluo deliberately provokes the officer to buy time for the female lead to escape.

The focus of this scene was actually on the female lead escaping outside. The Qiluo and officer scene was expected to be just five to six seconds long and easy to shoot.

But when Qiluo kneeled against the officer’s leg and bent over tentatively, the officer’s hand on her waist suddenly lost control.

The girl’s soft waist was twisted into an even deeper, more enticing curve.

Qiluo fell into the officer’s embrace, her lips brushing against his cheek.

The heat of desire burned.

The officer murmured, “Miss Qiluo.”

“Military Officer.” Qiluo’s voice was soft and lingering as she guided his hand to touch her waist.

Gu Chuan’s lips parted slightly as his voice came out with a faintly hoarse tone, “I think he would want to do that.”

Jiang Mi chuckled softly, it was fine. The scene was already complete the moment she pushed Gu Chuan’s shoulder; anything extra he added could be cut in post-production.

However, the director was so excited that he insisted on keeping the scene and even asked the scriptwriter to add more scenes for both Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan!

The chemistry between the two was just too intense, and adding a romantic scene for Qiluo would make her character more three-dimensional and complete.

Most importantly, Jiang Mi had brought Qiluo to life.

Wang Yi had initially thought Jiang Mi’s face was too striking and unique—ideal for stardom but not suited for acting.

Because it might distract the audience.

But when Jiang Mi stood in front of the camera, she shattered all doubts. She was Qiluo, and Qiluo was her.
