Chapter 15: Seeing the Future

The approach was too simple and crude.

“I don’t agree with either option. If you want to handle this, treat it as a fight, arrest them all, lock them up together, and don’t let anyone out. I won’t pay a single cent to them!”

Lu Zhao sneered, his attitude also very firm. Zheng Ye and the others acted innocent here, but were they truly innocent?

“Ahem, you all go outside first. Let me talk to him for a moment. I’ll persuade him.”

One of the Public Security officers waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave. Once they had all left and the door was closed, he sat next to Lu Zhao, as if they were close brothers.

“Alright, alright, we know you’ve been wronged in this matter. We didn’t want to handle it this way either, but there’s a leadership inspection coming soon, and you know how it is. We can’t make things difficult, and if those little bullies stir up trouble again, it’ll make our job harder. You pay him the money first, settle this, and if you want to get it back later, you’re free to do so. As long as he can’t find evidence, it’s none of our business.” Qian Dong from the Public Security Bureau spoke in a gentle tone.

Lu Zhao was a man of loyalty, and a straightforward person. Ever since he had taken care of those little bullies in the town, their reckless behavior had decreased by more than half, which saved them a lot of trouble.

By chance, Lu Zhao had developed a brotherly bond with Qian Dong from the Public Security Bureau. Their relationship was quite good, and they helped each other whenever possible. That was why Lu Zhao acted so recklessly. He had the moral high ground, and with someone from the Public Security Bureau backing him, he never imagined that this time the scales of justice wouldn’t tip in his favor.

Lu Zhao furrowed his brows, displeased. “I’ve never been at a disadvantage. Just the fact that he tried to rob my wife in the street should be enough for me to kill him. A hooligan like him should be executed. How could he be let go just because his father pays a little money?”

In this day and age, hooliganism were still heavily punished.

“There are certainly some things going on here, but you don’t need to worry about that. For now, just accept this loss, and you can get it back later. I’m telling you this as a brother. A wise man knows when to yield. Think it over carefully.” Qian Dong patted Lu Zhao’s shoulder, urging him to reconsider, advising the young man not to be too stubborn.

On the other side, Su Yunqi was anxiously waiting in the lobby. She didn’t understand—Lu Zhao had beaten people before, but it never led to him being brought to the Public Security Bureau, and he had been in the right at the time. What was going on now?

“Ha, once he’s locked up, that little slut is mine. I’ll make her pay!”

Zheng Ye quietly approached Su Yunqi and whispered in her ear, his voice filled with malice. His beady eyes, full of lecherous intent, were fixed on her, disgusting and vile.

“I’ll fight you!” Su Yunqi’s face flushed with anger.

She clenched her teeth and slapped Zheng Ye hard across the face, then quickly kicked him squarely in the groin while he was caught off guard.

“Ow! You bitch! I’ll kill you!” Zheng Ye grimaced in pain, clutching his groin. His lackeys quickly surrounded him, ready to back him up. Even though they had suffered injuries, their numbers made it easy to overpower Su Yunqi.

Fortunately, they were in the Public Security Bureau, and a security officer quickly stepped in to intervene.

“Stop it! Who gave you permission to fight in here? Do you all want to get locked up in jail? And you, Zheng Ye, don’t think I don’t know your dirty little tricks. If Su Yunqi even gets a scratch, I’ll hold you responsible! Stay away from her from now on. If you harass her again, I’ll have you arrested for hooliganism!”

The Public Security officer pulled Su Yunqi aside and then gave Zheng Ye and his group a severe reprimanding.

“Alright, alright, I’ll be more careful from now on.” Zheng Ye nodded in a dismissive manner, still bent over while clutching his groin, but his eyes never stopped leering at Su Yunqi. He was determined to have her, no matter the cost!

Even though she was already married and considered “secondhand.” he still wanted to taste what she had to offer.

“It’s all fake! He didn’t genuinely apologize at all! You should arrest him and release Lu Zhao!” Su Yunqi was so furious that her head spun. Her delicate fingers, pointing at Zheng Ye, were trembling.

“Where is Lu Zhao? I want Lu Zhao!” Su Yunqi couldn’t hold back any longer.

She was about to cause a scene at the Public Security Bureau. Her head was spinning in waves of dizziness, accompanied by pain, and she couldn’t help but stagger.

Then, her vision darkened, and she collapsed to the ground.

“Su Yunqi! Are you alright?”

A Public Security officer rushed over to catch her and immediately contacted Lu Zhao. He told him to take her to the hospital, and that they would deal with the matter later.

Although Zheng Ye and his group were unwilling, they had no choice but to leave. After all, Lu Zhao still needed to give them an explanation.

Even after losing consciousness, Su Yunqi didn’t experience a blank mind.

Instead, it was as if a series of vivid images flashed before her eyes.

They were all related to her and the people around her. The more she saw, the greater the pain in her head.

Before she could wake up, tears began to fall uncontrollably.

“What’s going on? Why isn’t she waking up? Is she scared?”

Lu Zhao’s heart ached as he wiped the tears from Su Yunqi’s face. He gently held her cold little hand, silently praying for her to wake up soon. His fierce, sharp face was filled with worry.

“Lu Zhao!”

Suddenly, Su Yunqi opened her eyes, calling out his name in panic.

“I’m here, I’m here. Don’t be afraid.” Lu Zhao hurriedly embraced her, comforting her. His rough hand gently caressed her back, offering her reassurance.

But Su Yunqi wasn’t that easily frightened. How could she be so scared just because he had been to the Public Security Bureau? Could it be that the psychological trauma caused by Zheng Ye and his group was too much for her to handle?

It seemed that more effort was needed. He would have to teach them another lesson, making sure they didn’t even dare to report anything to the Public Security Bureau. They should never set foot in this place again for the rest of their lives!

Lu Zhao’s deep, dark eyes flashed with a cold glint, and in his heart, he had already made up his mind.

“Lu Zhao…” Su Yunqi happened to look up and saw the emotion in his eyes. Her eyes filled with tears, and she immediately shook her head.

“No! Lu Zhao! You can’t go!!!”

It seemed that she already knew what he was planning.

“Alright, alright, I won’t go. I won’t go anywhere.”

Lu Zhao just wanted to comfort her and stop her from being afraid, but he didn’t fully understand her meaning.

However, Su Yunqi’s face remained serious as she once again emphasized her point. “Lu Zhao, don’t go and teach Zheng Ye and the others a lesson. Just let it go.”

Su Yunqi held onto Lu Zhao’s hand, shaking her head with sincerity and seriousness.

It was hard for her to explain, but just before she had lost consciousness, she had seen a vision of the future.

Lu Zhao would go to Zheng Ye’s house to punish him. Not only would he secretly poison the fish in Zheng Ye’s fish pond, but he would also beat Zheng Ye up in the middle of the night, stuffing him in a sack, and even cut off his genitals!
