When they got home, Grandma Tan was already asleep.

Wang Sasa once again took over Tan Yixuan’s bedroom. After freshening up, she changed into the pajamas she had brought and relaxed on Tan Yixuan’s bed.

Tan Yixuan, looking thoughtful, furrowed her brows as she glanced at her backpack. “You brought pajamas with you when you went out?”

Wang Sasa, unhurried, propped herself up with a soft pillow and smiled at Tan Yixuan. “Since I’ll be staying here often in the future, I prepared them in advance.”

Tan Yixuan, suddenly blushing, stammered, “What are you talking about?”

Wang Sasa, composed, said, “Look, since we’re friends now, we’re pretty much good friends. Isn’t it natural for good friends to stay over at each other’s houses?” She spread her hands and flashed a sweet smile.

Tan Yixuan glanced at her, bit her lip, and turned to pull out her homework from her backpack. She hadn’t read a single book during the day and needed to catch up on her studies in the evening.

Wang Sasa lounged on the bed, propping her chin up with one hand and watching Tan Yixuan’s straight-backed figure. Glancing at the wall clock, she saw it was nearly eleven o’clock. Tan Yixuan didn’t seem to be bothered by the late hour.

Shaking her head, Wang Sasa decided to pass the time with a novel. Since Tan Yixuan’s leg was injured, she would need help later, so she couldn’t fall asleep.

After doing homework for a while, Tan Yixuan suddenly noticed the room was too quiet and turned to look.

Wang Sasa was propped up on one arm, fast asleep with her head resting on a textbook. Tan Yixuan smiled, shook her head, and tidied up her homework. Her eyes then fell on a brown notepad, and she paused.

After a moment of silence, Tan Yixuan took out the notepad and began writing her diary. Thinking about the day’s events, she paused, took out a pencil, and, almost impulsively, drew the sleeping figure of Wang Sasa. After a while, she stared at the sketch of Wang Sasa on the notepad, biting her lip in frustration. What was she doing?

Wang Sasa, smacking her lips, slowly woke up and groggily asked, “What’s wrong? Are you finished?”

Tan Yixuan was startled, hurriedly closing the notepad and, feeling guilty, put it back in the bookshelf. She then turned her back to Wang Sasa, trying to remain calm. “I’m done.”

“What’s going on?” Wang Sasa rubbed her eyes, yawned, and got out of bed, walking over to Tan Yixuan. “I’ll help you to bed.”

It was already past Wang Sasa’s usual bedtime, and she was impatient to help Tan Yixuan to the living room but decided to let her sleep in the bedroom instead. Wang Sasa patted the bed and said generously, “Tonight, let’s just squeeze in together.”

Tan Yixuan looked at the bed and then at her, feeling conflicted.

Wang Sasa raised an eyebrow and asked tentatively, “Aren’t you used to sleeping with someone else?”

Tan Yixuan bit her lip, and the answer was clear.

Wang Sasa immediately perked up, blinking and smiling, “What a coincidence, I’m not used to sleeping with others either, but… if it’s you, it’s fine.” She said it with deliberate ambiguity and a soft tone, and seeing Tan Yixuan’s increasingly embarrassed expression made her smile even more.

Wang Sasa felt that increasing physical contact would help enhance their relationship. After all, isn’t it often the case that friendships between girls start with hand-holding trips to the bathroom?

Wang Sasa hadn’t had many friends before, partly due to her own reasons and partly because others were wary of her. She felt that hand-holding trips to the bathroom were too intimate, but she and Tan Yixuan could start with sleeping together! Seeing Tan Yixuan still standing awkwardly by the bed, Wang Sasa chuckled, “Does your leg not hurt?”

Tan Yixuan snapped back to reality, feeling unsure about what to do. Wang Sasa stopped teasing her, helped her lie down, and then lay down beside her.

Tan Yixuan tensed up as she felt another person’s presence close by. Wang Sasa was also not much better, but since it was her idea to sleep together, she forced herself to move closer to Tan Yixuan and whispered, “Don’t worry, I don’t snore and won’t steal the blanket.”

Tan Yixuan turned her back to her, unsure if Wang Sasa had heard her. After a while, she weakly responded with a soft “mm.”

Wang Sasa felt uncomfortable for a moment but quickly adapted and, unable to resist sleepiness, fell asleep soon after. Hearing the rising and falling of Wang Sasa’s breath behind her, Tan Yixuan hesitated, then gently turned around.

In the faint moonlight, Tan Yixuan couldn’t help but gaze at Wang Sasa’s delicate face. With her smooth skin, perfect features, and the ever-confident, vibrant expression… Her gaze fell on Wang Sasa’s smiling mouth, thinking about how sweet and endearing her smile was. Her fingers instinctively reached towards the dimple on Wang Sasa’s cheek.

Feeling something, Wang Sasa, eyes closed, scratched her chin and turned over.

Tan Yixuan quickly pulled her hand back, her heart racing and feeling flustered. Once Wang Sasa settled down, she let out a sigh of relief. Suddenly, Tan Yixuan was stunned, staring blankly at her fingers—what was she doing?

Wang Sasa slept soundly until dawn. When she turned and saw that Tan Yixuan was still asleep, she quietly got out of bed. It was only when she heard the door click shut that Tan Yixuan opened her eyes, staring expressionlessly at the bedroom door for a while before sighing heavily.

She and Wang Sasa were from entirely different worlds; it was better not to interact too much.

Grandma Tan was in the kitchen making breakfast. Hearing the noise, she came out and saw Wang Sasa without surprise, smiling, “Yixuan’s still not up? After you two finish breakfast, I have to go out for a bit.”

Grandma Tan planned to visit a temple with her friends to pray for Tan Yixuan’s success in her studies and life. She originally intended to ask Tan Yixuan to join them, but since Wang Sasa was there, she decided to leave her as company for the guest.

Wang Sasa cheerfully watched Grandma Tan leave and ate her share of breakfast. Since Grandma Tan wasn’t aware that Wang Sasa was staying the night, she had only prepared one serving. Fortunately, Wang Sasa didn’t eat much, just one egg that belonged to Tan Yixuan.

To maintain her figure, Wang Sasa’s appetite was always small.

When the bedroom door opened, Wang Sasa turned to see Tan Yixuan looking tired and smiled, “You’re up?”

Tan Yixuan took a deep breath, suppressing the strange feelings rising in her heart, and responded with a simple “mm.”

Wang Sasa, noticing Tan Yixuan’s off mood, raised an eyebrow and asked, “Didn’t you sleep well last night?”

Tan Yixuan didn’t know how to respond and could only remain silent. Wang Sasa, not getting a reply, wasn’t angry but simply laughed lightly. Noticing Tan Yixuan’s dark circles under her eyes, Wang Sasa’s smile widened.

As Tan Yixuan went to the kitchen for breakfast, Wang Sasa returned to the bedroom. While packing her bag, she glanced at the brown notepad in the bookshelf. Thinking about Tan Yixuan’s cold attitude, she was suddenly tempted to open it.

However, she only thought about it and didn’t take action. Her gaze briefly lingered on the notepad before shifting her attention.

Friendship shouldn’t be rushed; it’s about balancing tension and relaxation. Clearly, Tan Yixuan was in a bad mood, and pursuing her further would only make things worse. Wang Sasa, carrying her bag, said to Tan Yixuan, “Goodbye,” and efficiently turned the door handle and closed the door behind her.

Is she… angry? Tan Yixuan forced a bitter smile, considering that if she had spent the night taking care of Wang Sasa and the next day Wang Sasa turned cold, she would be upset too.

But, she and Wang Sasa were from different worlds.

Tan Yixuan withdrew her gaze, looking down at her pale fingers, imagining the sensation of touching Wang Sasa’s cheek, her face flushing slightly.

Wang Sasa opened the door and went downstairs, and unexpectedly found Wei Qi waiting in the narrow corridor. Standing nearly 1.9 meters tall, he blocked the light coming through the window, making the corridor even darker.

Wang Sasa’s brows furrowed deeply. At school, she had been vigilant against Wei Qi, staying close to Tan Yixuan so he wouldn’t have the chance to harass her.

Now, it seemed he had followed her to Tan Yixuan’s home. Wang Sasa glared at him warily and asked in a harsh tone, “What are you doing here?”

Wei Qi, originally leaning against the wall, was startled by Wang Sasa’s voice. Reacting, he coldly said, “Wang Shasha, I knew it. You wouldn’t let me go so easily…” Considering Wang Sasa’s cat-and-mouse game, Wei Qi felt an odd satisfaction deep down. He paused and smirked, “I have to admit, you almost fooled me.”

Wei Qi then changed his stance, crossed his arms, and raised his chin proudly, “But even if you came to Tan Yixuan’s home, I wouldn’t be interested in you.”

Wang Sasa: “…”

Wang Sasa couldn’t help but mutter a curse under her breath: “I [block] you [block].”

Wei Qi didn’t catch it clearly and frowned, “What did you say?”

Wang Sasa smiled sweetly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and said gently, “Nothing, I just think your imagination is quite good. You should consider writing stories.”

Wei Qi was confused but realized Wang Sasa was mocking him, so he frowned in displeasure, “Wang Shasha, I don’t care what you think. It’s one thing to deal with me, but Tan Yixuan is different from others. I won’t allow you to hurt her.”

Wang Sasa, rather than getting angry, smiled and took a few steps closer. Unexpectedly, she grabbed his collar and pulled him down. Under his bewildered gaze, she whispered, “How would I hurt her? Like you did—date her for three months and then dump her?”

Wei Qi, staring at her close-up, was momentarily stunned, his actions slowing.

Tan Yixuan returned to the bedroom and found Wang Sasa had left a workbook behind. She quickly picked it up and limped out to catch up. Turning a corner, she saw two figures ahead—one tall and one short.

She focused and recognized the taller one as Wei Qi and the shorter one as Wang Sasa.

At that moment, Wang Sasa had her arms around Wei Qi’s neck, seemingly inviting a kiss. Surprisingly, Wei Qi, who had previously shown aversion to Wang Sasa, didn’t resist at all. In that instant, Tan Yixuan understood something, her heart aching as if pricked by needles.

So, Wang Sasa approached her because of Wei Qi?

Seeing Wang Sasa on tiptoe about to kiss Wei Qi, Tan Yixuan instantly felt panicked. In her confusion, she twisted her foot and tumbled down the stairs.
