After dinner, Fu Yunzhou sat on the sofa savoring the snacks and millet porridge that Yuan Xi had made. The television was playing a funny variety show while Yuan Xi sat beside him, enjoying some fruit and sunflower seeds while keeping an eye on Fu Yunzhou as he ate his porridge.
With the sudden decrease in work pressure, Fu Yunzhou felt a momentary sense of discomfort.
Having grown accustomed to a high-stress environment, the abrupt transition to relaxation felt somewhat unnatural for him.
Especially with so much free time on his hands, Fu Yunzhou felt a sense of emptiness, unsure of how to fill the idle hours.
So, after finishing his meal, he assigned Yuan Xi a few simple tasks, mostly to prepare for the work ahead the next day.
Once Yuan Xi left, Fu Yunzhou went upstairs and initiated a video call with Secretary Zhang to continue monitoring his clueless younger brother as he processed documents.
Fu Yushen thought to himself: QAQ What did I do wrong? Why are they treating me like this?
Under the watchful gaze of his older brother, Fu Yushen finally completed all the documents by ten o’clock. Secretary Zhang efficiently sorted the files, packaging the more important ones for Fu Yunzhou to review later.
The simpler documents only needed a quick review from her and Secretary Li.
“How many files did he handle in total, and when did he start?” Fu Yunzhou glanced at the time and the number of files, then swept his gaze over the neatly categorized documents, unable to suppress a frown.
“Second Young Master arrived at the office at 8:30 and officially started processing documents at 9:00. So far, he has only completed half of them; there’s still another half left to address.” Secretary Zhang reported.
After hearing this, Fu Yunzhou’s expression turned colder as he looked at Fu Yushen.
Fu Yushen nearly bit his tongue in shock. He had thought he was working diligently and had completed all the tasks for the day, only to discover he had managed to handle just half!
Realizing this, Fu Yushen couldn’t help but look at Fu Yunzhou with a newfound respect.
In the next moment, Fu Yushen leaned into the camera, looking pitiful. “Brother, brother, you saw that, right? I really am not cut out for this kind of work. Can we switch back? I really…”
Fu Yunzhou smiled at his clueless younger brother, appearing to completely misunderstand Fu Yushen’s plight. He simply looked at him and said. “It’s okay; you won’t learn unless you try. If something happens to me in the future, the Fu Group will be relying on you.”
With that, Fu Yunzhou hung up the phone, showing no intention of continuing to watch his brother’s distressed face.
Fu Yushen stared blankly at the disconnected call and then turned to the two secretaries beside him, scratching his head. “Did my brother have a breakdown? Or is his health getting worse? But he looks fine to me—actually, he seems quite energetic!”
