Yuan Xi numbly took out his phone from his pocket and handed it to Fu Yunzhou, watching him enter his contact information. He nodded vacantly and murmured “Yes.”
As Fu Yunzhou glanced at Yuan Xi’s phone, he momentarily froze, a trace of mild displeasure crossing his face.
Yuan Xi’s phone was bought by him personally. The original owner’s salary was modest, and as an orphan, he was frugal and preferred to save money rather than spend it recklessly. Therefore, he didn’t have high expectations for his phone—anything functional would do.
Phone models change so quickly that many people buy new ones to keep up with trends and appearances. However, Yuan Xi was different; he only replaced his phone if it was broken. As a result, his phone looked very outdated, with much of the paint chipped off.
Seeing Yuan Xi’s phone, Fu Yunzhou couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for him.
It seemed that despite working tirelessly every day, Yuan Xi was still using an old phone. Feeling a twinge of concern, Fu Yunzhou looked at Yuan Xi and said, “Your phone looks like it’s been through a lot. I have a few spare ones that I could give you. I’ll bring them tomorrow.”
Yuan Xi: ???? What do you mean?
Fu Yunzhou didn’t say much, simply affectionately ruffling Yuan Xi’s hair, interpreting Yuan Xi’s confusion as surprise and speechlessness.
Yuan Xi looked at Fu Yunzhou’s eyes, feeling a bit puzzled. Although he didn’t fully understand what it meant, it seemed harmless. With the contact information of his crush secured and the promise of a phone from him, Yuan Xi wondered if this was a significant step forward.
Seeing Yuan Xi’s smile, which he took as a sign of happiness, Fu Yunzhou finished patting his hair and quickly moved away.
He made a conscious effort to ignore the uneaten bowl of red date, silver fungus, and lotus seed congee on the table.
When Yuan Xi finally came to his senses after his giggles, he realized that Fu Yunzhou had already left. Only the partially sipped bowl of porridge remained on the table.
After confirming that Fu Yunzhou was no longer around, Yuan Xi sighed and picked up the bowl. “It can’t go to waste. Since the God has left it, I’ll finish it,” he said and proceeded to drink the remaining porridge.
