Chapter 16: Kiss

Lin Zhizhi and Lu Yi parted ways with the student council members at the entrance of the courtyard.

The hotel doorman had already driven Lin Zhizhi’s car over from the parking lot and was standing by with the keys in hand.

Just as Lin Zhizhi reached out to take the car keys, Lu Yi was quicker and grabbed them first. “Let me drive. I wouldn’t dare let someone who’s half-asleep take the wheel.”

As he spoke, Lu Yi placed an arm around Lin Zhizhi’s shoulders, leading her to the car. He then opened the passenger door for her and even thoughtfully leaned in to fasten her seatbelt.

Lin Zhizhi’s heart started beating uncontrollably as she watched Lu Yi fastening her seatbelt.

Lu Yi’s eyelashes were so long and thick. His skin was flawless, even at such a close distance, without a single blemish. Lin Zhizhi’s gaze lowered—hmm~ these lips were too sexy. They looked so soft.

What to do!?

I really want to kiss Lu Yi.

No, I need to resist. I am a reserved girl.

Lin Zhizhi forced herself to hold back. Her gaze shifted further down to Lu Yi’s neck—hmm~, very good… ahhh…

His looks were simply too unfair.

Sensing Lin Zhizhi’s intense gaze, Lu Yi’s hand paused while fastening the seatbelt. He swallowed uncomfortably, his Adam’s apple moving up and down.

After securing the seatbelt and closing the car door for Lin Zhizhi, Lu Yi walked over to the driver’s seat, unaware of Lin Zhizhi’s bright, sparkling eyes and her barely contained excitement.

However, the moment Lu Yi got into the car, Lin Zhizhi hurriedly suppressed her emotions.

She had noticed that her boyfriend was a little shy. She couldn’t scare him away.

While driving, Lu Yi asked: “Where do you live? I’ll take you home first.”

“In Haoting Community. There’s a GPS in the car, just follow it. But maybe you should go back to school first? If you take me home, you’ll have to get a taxi back to campus later.”

“It’s fine. Like I said earlier, I wouldn’t feel at ease letting you go home alone.”

Seeing how firm Lu Yi was, Lin Zhizhi no longer refused. “Alright then.”

As they neared the entrance of the community, Lin Zhizhi told Lu Yi to stop the car.

“This is good enough. If you drive in, you’ll have to walk all the way back out later. My house is quite a distance from the entrance.” Lin Zhizhi smiled as she spoke.

Since they were already at the entrance, Lu Yi didn’t insist. “Alright, then drive slowly and be careful.”

Both of them got out of the car and walked to the pedestrian path on the left side.

Lin Zhizhi looked at Lu Yi, who stood so close, full of concern for her. Her gaze unconsciously drifted to his sexy, thin lips. In the next second, she stood slightly on tiptoe, grabbed Lu Yi’s collar with one hand, pulling him down toward her, and decisively kissed him.  

When their lips touched, Lu Yi’s eyes widened in surprise. But when he saw Lin Zhizhi with her eyes closed, eyelashes trembling slightly, a hint of a smile flashed through his gaze.

Without hesitation, he bent down cooperatively, wrapping one arm around Lin Zhizhi’s slender waist while the other hand gently pressed the back of her head, deepening the kiss.  

No one knew how much time had passed before they finally ended the kiss. Lu Yi rested his forehead lightly against Lin Zhizhi’s.

His breathing was slightly uneven. Since he was more than half a head taller than Lin Zhizhi, he bent down slightly, gazing at her with eyes that sparkled. His lips curved into a gentle smile, warm as the spring breeze in March.  

Lin Zhizhi stared at Lu Yi, who was completely different from the usual cold and aloof figure he presented to others. This version of Lu Yi seemed as if he wanted to melt her.  

“Zhizhi~ I’m so happy right now. Let’s be good to each other from now on, okay?”  

Lu Yi’s voice was slightly husky, carrying an unmistakable warmth and joy.  

“Okay~”  

Lin Zhizhi’s response came with a prolonged tone, soft and lingering, tender as a little bunny—obedient and sweet.  

The two lingered for a while longer before Lin Zhizhi finally got into the car and drove into the residential complex.  

Lu Yi stood where he was, lifting a hand to wave. He only took out his phone to send a message once Lin Zhizhi’s car was no longer in sight.

His expression was languid yet noble, elegant and carefree, with one hand casually tucked into his pocket as he stood by the roadside.  

Before long, a Ferrari approached from the distance and came to a steady stop in front of Lu Yi.
