Chapter 24: A Life with You  

Lin Zhizhi stopped in front of Lu Yi. It was nearing noon, and the sun was at its peak, blazing fiercely.  

She had only walked a few hundred meters from the parking lot to this spot, but the summer heat was already making her feel uncomfortable.

Just as she was about to suggest that Lu Yi go into the mall to cool off— the air conditioning in the mall ran nonstop from morning till night— she noticed that Lu Yi seemed to be staring at her absentmindedly.

Feeling slightly uneasy, Lin Zhizhi tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and waved her hand in front of Lu Yi’s face. “Lu Yi, why are you staring at me? Is there something wrong with me?”  

She smiled gently, her eyes curving with warmth and affection. Yet, inwardly, her mind was racing with thoughts.  

Oh my god, could it be that Lu Yi thinks this floral dress looks bad on me? But I checked myself in the mirror before I left — I looked so pretty, like a literal fairy!  

No way… Could it be that Lu Yi is not only a cold and aloof Male God but also a total straight guy who doesn’t like colorful dresses?  

As Lin Zhizhi continued to wonder whether Lu Yi was truly a straight guy, Lu Yi seemed to snap back to reality.

He naturally reached out and took hold of Lin Zhizhi’s hand, the one she had been waving in front of him, and led her into the mall.  

As soon as they stepped inside, Lu Yi placed a cup of Mango Pomelo Sago in front of Lin Zhizhi. “I wasn’t sure what kind of milk tea you like. I saw that a lot of girls order this one, so I got it for you too. See if you like it. If you don’t, I’ll go get something else.”  

Lin Zhizhi took the cup of Mango Pomelo Sago and happily nodded at Lu Yi, indicating that she genuinely liked it.  

In fact, every time Lin Zhizhi ordered Mango Pomelo Sago, she would always ask the staff to add extra toppings. She really enjoyed this drink, especially on scorching summer days. When the heat felt stifling, taking a sip brought an instant sense of cool relief.  

She attempted to loosen her hand from Lu Yi’s grasp, but as soon as she moved slightly, she felt Lu Yi tighten his grip instead. It even seemed like he gently squeezed her hand.

Huh?  

Lin Zhizhi looked at Lu Yi with confusion. His face remained serious and composed, his usual cool and distant demeanor still intact. And, of course, he was still annoyingly charming. No doubt — it must have been her imagination. She blamed the sweltering weather for making her hallucinate.  

Lu Yi noticed Lin Zhizhi’s puzzled expression but still didn’t let go of her hand. Instead, he calmly held the cup with his other hand and said with an air of nonchalance: “I’ll hold it. You go ahead and poke the straw in.”  

Following his instruction, Lin Zhizhi did as he said and successfully took her first sip of the Mango Pomelo Sago. Mmm~ Not bad. This milk tea shop made an excellent version of the drink. She made a mental note of the store’s name and was determined to come back for more next time.  

The entire cup offered a multi-layered taste experience. The fresh Taiwanese mango blended with coconut milk, resulting in a sweet and refreshing flavor. The sago pearls were delicate and silky, while the grapefruit pulp burst with a fresh, tangy taste upon biting into it — as if her taste buds were screaming with joy.  

Lin Zhizhi took a sip of the Mango Pomelo Sago, her eyes narrowing slightly in satisfaction.

One hand remained intertwined with Lu Yi’s, while the other held the cup.

She continued sipping through the straw, clearly enjoying every moment.  

Lu Yi watched as Lin Zhizhi found such happiness from a simple cup of Mango Pomelo Sago. Quietly, he savored the warmth and softness of her delicate hand resting in his palm.

Suddenly, he recalled working overtime with Jiang Chen the previous night, finalizing the company’s upcoming development plan.

Looking at the person in front of him now, he couldn’t help but wonder if he really needed to be in such a hurry. After all, Zhizhi seemed quite easy to coax.  

The mall’s first and second floors housed a large supermarket, the third floor was an arcade, the fourth floor featured various restaurants, and the fifth floor was dedicated to clothing stores…  

Since it was just about lunchtime, Lin Zhizhi and Lu Yi took the elevator straight to the fourth floor to find a place to eat.  

The restaurant they chose was called A Life with Yu — a name that immediately hinted at fish being its specialty. The meaning behind the name was also quite profound.  ^[1]Yu, means fish

Just because of its name, Lin Zhizhi was eager to try the restaurant’s dishes. She was curious to see how good the food could be.
