Chapter 29: Friends Are the True Wealth  

Zhou Tiantian was practically a tool used by those who wanted to flatter the female lead, Song Nuan, while belittling Lin Zhizhi in the later parts of the original story.  

Lin Zhizhi didn’t care much about this. After all, those were just the events of the original novel. Now that she had transmigrated into this world, she was Lin Zhizhi. There was no way she would do anything self-destructive.  

That said, Zhou Tiantian was indeed a highly capable and formidable woman. Lin Zhizhi thought about how, on the surface, the Lin family seemed calm and stable, with everything running as usual. However, both the tragic ending of the Lin family in the later part of the story and what she had overheard at Zhongting Restaurant made her uneasy.  

Zhou Tiantian was the only daughter of the Zhou family. Before the Zhou Corporation went bankrupt, she had been groomed as the rightful heir. Moreover, she had graduated from a prestigious university with a degree in business management—completely different from Lin Zhizhi, who had studied arts and had nothing to do with business or finance.  

Lin Zhizhi glanced at Zhou Tiantian, who was not far ahead, gripped the steering wheel, and lightly pressed down on the accelerator. She maneuvered the car steadily and stopped right next to Zhou Tiantian.  

After parking, Lin Zhizhi rolled down the passenger-side window and looked at Zhou Tiantian. “Zhou Tiantian, long time no see.”  

Zhou Tiantian frowned slightly, her face showing a hint of confusion. She spoke: “Sorry, you are…?”  

Seeing that Zhou Tiantian genuinely didn’t recognize her, Lin Zhizhi casually pushed her sunglasses up onto her head and smiled. “Don’t recognize me?”  

Zhou Tiantian stared at the stunning girl before her, who was smiling brightly, and quickly searched her memory.  

Judging by the car she drove and her outfit, she must be the daughter of some wealthy family from their old social circle.  

Lin Zhizhi kept smiling, waiting for Zhou Tiantian to recall her name. Once Zhou Tiantian remembered, Lin Zhizhi planned to naturally invite her into the car, exchange contact information, and seize the opportunity to learn how to manage a company from her.  

Even if Zhou Tiantian didn’t yet have her own company, sticking close to a future business tycoon, gaining experience, and building a solid relationship with her was still a smart move.  

After all, wealth was not a permanent friend, but friends were permanent wealth.  

Lin Zhizhi truly hadn’t expected Zhou Tiantian not to recognize her. They had attended several of the same banquets before, so she assumed Zhou Tiantian had at least heard of her or found her face familiar.  

Taking the initiative, Lin Zhizhi spoke up: “I’m Lin Zhizhi.”  

Zhou Tiantian met Lin Zhizhi’s clear, shimmering eyes and instinctively averted her gaze. Under Lin Zhizhi’s direct stare, she couldn’t shake the inexplicable feeling that she had somehow wronged her.

“Sorry, I just recognized you now.”  

Hearing Lin Zhizhi’s name, Zhou Tiantian finally recalled her presence from past banquets she had attended.  

“Get in. You seem to be in a hurry. Where are you headed? I’ll give you a ride.”  

Zhou Tiantian glanced at her watch and, without much hesitation, opened the passenger-side door and got in.  

As she fastened her seatbelt, she gave Lin Zhizhi the address.  

Lin Zhizhi didn’t ask any further questions. She simply started the car and headed toward the location Zhou Tiantian had mentioned.  

Zhou Tiantian watched Lin Zhizhi driving attentively and sincerely expressed her gratitude. “Thanks, I waited there for ages, but no car came. I have an appointment, and if I had been any later, I would have missed it. I really appreciate this.”  

Lin Zhizhi could hear the genuine gratitude in Zhou Tiantian’s voice. Thinking about her own ulterior motive for offering the ride, she felt a little guilty.  

“It’s nothing. I guess I just did a good deed today.”  

She smiled at Zhou Tiantian but quickly shifted her gaze back to the road.  

Hmm~ Today, I’m a responsible driver following all traffic rules.  

Just as Zhou Tiantian was about to say something else, a sudden ringtone interrupted her.  

She answered the call.  

“Tiantian, where are you? President Liu is already at the entrance!”  

The voice on the other end was urgent, speaking rapidly.  

Zhou Tiantian glanced at the buildings outside and reassured them: “Don’t panic. Just keep President Liu occupied for a bit. I’m almost there.”  

President Liu was an investor in Zhou Tiantian’s studio. At this point, the studio’s funds could only sustain operations for another two months. This meeting was crucial—she had to secure President Liu’s investment.  

Lin Zhizhi listened to Zhou Tiantian’s conversation in silence and instinctively pressed down on the accelerator, speeding up.  

Before the car came to a full stop, Zhou Tiantian and Lin Zhizhi exchanged contact information.  

As she hurriedly opened the door and got out, Zhou Tiantian left behind a quick remark: “I owe you one. If you ever need my help, just come find me. See you!”  

Then, without another moment’s delay, she dashed off, disappearing from sight in an instant.
