Transmigrated as the Male Lead’s Vicious Ex-Girlfriend Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Isn’t Free Shipping for 9.9 Yuan a Great Deal?

As the cigarette burned down to its filter, the scattered ash landed on Lu Yi’s hand, snapping him out of his thoughts. He quickly extinguished the cigarette.

Opening the car door, he looked up at the still pitch-dark window above. Lazily, he leaned against the car, his long legs slightly bent. He stared blankly for a moment before reaching into his pocket for his phone. Just as his hand went in, he remembered that the phone was on the passenger seat. He opened the car door again, bent down, and retrieved it.

Leaning back against the car, he unlocked his phone and dialed Lin Zhizhi’s number. No answer. He called again. Still no answer.

Lu Yi frowned slightly, his gaze fixed on the phone screen. He waited for a long time, but Lin Zhizhi never called back. Clicking into WeChat and his contacts, he scrolled through, trying to find a lead, only to realize—he knew nothing about Lin Zhizhi. He had no idea where she might go or who he could contact to find her.

Pressing his lips together, his entire body exuded an icy aura. Frustrated, he locked the screen and tossed the phone onto the driver’s seat. With his hands stuffed into his pockets, he closed his eyes momentarily, but suddenly, as if recalling something, he snapped them open and picked up the phone again.

Because of his parents, Lu Yi had never been interested in relationships and had never thought about starting one lightly.

That night with Lin Zhizhi, he had been the one leading most of the way. Though he didn’t want to admit it, he was undeniably drawn to her looks. He couldn’t forget the moment when Lin Zhizhi grabbed his collar—the instant shock and the undeniable flutter in his chest.

Thinking back to his recent interactions with her, he realized that while Lin Zhizhi seemed quiet and reserved, once she got comfortable with someone, she would unconsciously test their boundaries in small ways, acting playfully spoiled. She appeared to be a gentle goddess, but once provoked, she could turn into a fiery little chili pepper…

Lost in thought, Lu Yi unknowingly curled his lips into a faint smile. His fingers tapped idly against the phone screen.

While Lu Yi was drowning in his own sweet memories, completely unable to extricate himself, Lin Zhizhi was still happily dragging Zhou Tiantian through a shopping spree.

As soon as they entered the supermarket, the two grabbed a shopping cart and began sweeping through the aisles.

Zhou Tiantian was mainly in charge of pushing the cart, while Lin Zhizhi strolled leisurely by her side. Every time they passed a shelf, Lin Zhizhi would grab one or two items and toss them in. Of course, many of those items were promptly put back by Zhou Tiantian.

Lin Zhizhi had just put down a towel, a bath towel, and a pair of slippers. She was still walking forward excitedly when she suddenly noticed that Zhou Tiantian had stopped in place, unmoving. Puzzled, she turned her head.

“Is the bunny not fragrant? Or is the bunny not cute?” Zhou Tiantian gazed at the slippers Lin Zhizhi had placed in the shopping cart, her tone carrying a hint of grievance.

Lin Zhizhi recalled the first time she had met Zhou Tiantian—at that time, she had seemed like a strong and capable woman. But now, dressed casually, her voice full of pitiful innocence, she looked nothing like that initial impression. At this moment, Lin Zhizhi felt as though the grand and imposing aura of this “big shot” had completely crumbled.

“Bunny? …Oh.”

Lin Zhizhi was momentarily confused. What bunny? Weren’t they just talking about buying some vegetables and fruits? How did this suddenly turn into a discussion about rabbits?

Could it be that the “big shot” wanted to eat rabbit meat?

Did the supermarket even sell rabbit meat?

Or… did the “big shot” want to buy a rabbit as a pet?

Lin Zhizhi followed Zhou Tiantian’s gaze and saw that she was staring at the slippers she had casually grabbed and placed in the shopping cart. In that instant, she understood.

So the “bunny” was actually bunny slippers!

Lin Zhizhi walked back to Zhou Tiantian’s side and explained: “I was thinking that the bunny slippers were for your cousin. I saw them on the shelf just now and grabbed them without much thought.”

She assumed that they could finally move on now. However, after only a few steps, Zhou Tiantian’s voice drifted over again.

“These slippers cost more than twenty yuan. Isn’t buying them for 9.9 yuan with free shipping on Pinxixi much better?”

“……”

In the end, Lin Zhizhi couldn’t withstand Zhou Tiantian’s persuasive argument and silently returned the slippers to the shelf.
