Chapter 9: Inspection  

When Lin Zhizhi arrived at the employee area, she immediately sensed that every staff member was busy, yet not chaotic; instead, they worked in an orderly manner.  

The entire office area was clean and well-organized, spacious and bright. The greenery and flowers in the corners were full of vitality. A dedicated break room was set up, offering a variety of beverages, ensuring that employees could work efficiently in such an environment.  

Before Lin Zhizhi entered, some employees were engrossed in their tasks at their desks, while others gathered in small groups around a workstation, discussing something with documents in hand.  

As soon as Lin Zhizhi stepped inside, the employees noticed a large group of executives surrounding a stunningly beautiful young woman with a graceful figure. Instantly, the entire office fell silent.  

At that moment, the director of the Marketing Department, who had been trying hard to squeeze closer to Lin Zhizhi’s left rear, quickly stepped forward and clapped his hands.  

“Attention, everyone! Let me introduce someone to you.” he announced.  

After speaking, he turned back and smiled at Lin Zhizhi. “President Lin.”  

Lin Zhizhi glanced at him and then stepped forward two steps as expected.  

“This is the chairwoman of our company, Miss Lin Zhizhi. Let’s give President Lin a warm welcome for coming to inspect our office area.” The director of the Marketing Department took the lead in applauding, grinning so widely that his eyes nearly disappeared into slits.  

One by one, the employees stood up, clapping enthusiastically while greeting her:  

“Welcome, President Lin!”  

“Hello, President Lin!”  

The applause was fervent. Lin Zhizhi even keenly noticed that several employees had clapped so hard that their palms turned red.  

She quickly raised her hand to signal for quiet. The Marketing Department director, being perceptive, immediately called out: “Alright, alright, everyone, settle down.”  

Lin Zhizhi maintained a composed and professional smile. “There’s no need to be too formal. I’m not here today to inspect your work, but rather to take a look at our office environment. After all, for a company to thrive, it needs not only strong business capabilities but also a good corporate culture. Only then can it develop sustainably… That’s all from me. I won’t disturb your work any further.”  

After finishing her speech, Lin Zhizhi departed amid another round of enthusiastic applause.  

As a result, the office gossip group exploded with excitement that day:  

“Oh my God, President Lin is so beautiful and young!!!”  

“Yeah, yeah, I’m so thirsty!”  

“No, you can’t. President Lin belongs to everyone.”  

“President Lin must be the youngest and most beautiful chairwoman ever!”  

“Probably. The young chairpersons aren’t as good-looking as President Lin, and the good-looking chairpersons aren’t as young as her. What a winner in life!”  

“Wuwuwu, I never thought I’d one day have a beautiful CEO as my boss. [Feeling touched]”  

“Hahaha, the leaders I’ve seen before were either bald, teacher-exterminator types, or downright stingy like Zhou Bapi.”  

“By the way, I wonder if President Lin has a boyfriend? She must have a lot of admirers.”

After having the other department heads return to their work, Lin Zhizhi kept only Secretary Zhang behind.  

As she looked at the somewhat thin, middle-aged man in front of her, her feelings were complicated. She was eager to understand the reason for Secretary Zhang’s betrayal.

Based on the known plot in the book and their interactions over the past few hours, Lin Zhizhi increasingly believed that Secretary Zhang might have his own difficulties.  

Perhaps the key lay with Secretary Zhang’s family.

Although the book did not mention his family, Lin Zhizhi speculated that for someone who had devotedly helped the Original Owner manage the company for years to suddenly betray her, the most likely reason was something related to his family.  

Maintaining a polite and composed expression, Lin Zhizhi spoke courteously to Secretary Zhang: “Uncle Zhang, there’s no need to see me off. I can head down by myself.”  

Secretary Zhang’s expression remained solemn and somewhat serious. However, he still remembered to say: “Alright, then I won’t see you off. If you need anything, feel free to contact me anytime.”  

After saying that, he nodded slightly and walked away.  

Lin Zhizhi watched Secretary Zhang’s departing figure. Her fingers tapped lightly on her handbag as if lost in thought. It seemed that Secretary Zhang was the kind of person who spoke little but did much.  

On her drive home in her sports car, Lin Zhizhi caught a glimpse of a mid-to-high-end beverage shop flashing past her car window. After driving forward for a while, she turned the steering wheel and headed back toward the shop.  

Upon entering, she casually ordered nearly a thousand cups of beverages in various flavors along with some small pastries.

She instructed the staff to distribute the treats to every employee at the Lin Corporation, mentioning that it was her treat.

Without any hesitation, she swiftly pulled out her phone, paid the bill, and left decisively.
