Perhaps the feeling of being immersed in his dreams was too intense. He felt somewhat disgusted that he was wearing only a coat after messing around, just like the rich and princely heir in his dreams.
Sheng Xin was no more than an average guy, and his physique didn’t even measure up to the male PR staff Chi Yizhen met the night he transmigrated into the novel.
That PR guy had a stunning appearance, a top-tier physique, and an exceptionally talented asset, but he was essentially a rookie who didn’t know much about the world.
He Tiao slept deeply, and his exhaustion wasn’t solely due to the tasks assigned by the program crew but the underlying fear of facing the camera. Despite some desensitization over time, the sense of fatigue seeped in, requiring a good night’s sleep to replenish.
However, he didn’t sleep well at all, feeling heavier with each passing moment, as if a building had collapsed and buried him underneath. He also dreamt of snakes coiling around him, gradually transforming into menacing creatures, ready to give him a beating.
At another point, Chi Yizhen turned again, one of his legs ending up on top of He Tiao’s leg, not realizing that he had unknowingly executed a wrestling move on him.
The moment he grabbed He Tiao’s arm, the latter suddenly woke up, and his immediate reaction was not to push Chi Yizhen away. Instead, he reached for his phone to check if the live stream was still active.
Luckily, it was off.
Even though it wasn’t yet dawn outside, sounds of footsteps in the corridor could be heard. It was probably early morning, and some workers or commuters were starting their day.
He carefully moved Chi Yizhen’s leg off his, then gently pushed him away.
To his surprise, Chi Yizhen, who had been clingy in his sleep, raised his leg, and his foot bumped into He Tiao’s buttocks.
He Tiao: …
He felt both drowsy and wide awake.
He pushed Chi Yizhen away again.
He lacked experience in this regard.
Throughout his life, he had never been particularly close to anyone, not even his close friends and alumni from school who had been with him since his youth, such as those from his entrepreneurship club.
They had never shared a bed before.
It seemed like his youth was rather lonely, marked by solitude and privacy.
Staying up all night chatting, drinking, and engaging in deep conversations was not as appealing to He Tiao as working on his career in the studio.
To some extent, he was precisely as Du Binbai described: Everything about him was boring except his looks.
Normal introverts would have at least a few hobbies or interests to discuss. But He Tiao was a different case, and conversing with him was a rather eerie experience.
He Tiao shifted Chi Yizhen several times in an attempt to get more comfortable. However, Chi Yizhen appeared to be dreaming and exhibited normal facial expressions with incredibly abnormal body movements.
He Tiao attempted multiple times to discern what Chi Yizhen was saying but was met with unintelligible mumbles. He only managed to capture a key phrase: “You’re really big.”
He Tiao couldn’t help but wonder if Chi Yizhen was dreaming about that night…
The subject of the compliment was the same as it had been on that memorable night: the two of them. Had Chi Yizhen dreamt of that night?
He Tiao stopped pushing Chi Yizhen away as he was getting persistent, and he found Chi Yizhen was now embracing his arm. Chi Yizhen seemed to be shivering, and his incoherent mumbling changed into calling He Tiao “brother.”
He Tiao couldn’t help but think of the information about Chi Yizhen’s life that he had read. It was such a waste.
As the daylight slowly crept into the room, the lighting improved, allowing He Tiao to take a better look at Chi Yizhen’s face. He was indeed very good-looking, and He Tiao’s initial thought was that he was beautiful.
However, the beauty of a man was different from that of a woman, and Chi Yizhen’s features always seemed to carry an indescribable sense of melancholy. This made his beauty delicate, rather than dazzling, as if veiled by something ephemeral and enigmatic.
Chi Yizhen gave He Tiao the impression of being not entirely real, as if he didn’t belong to this world and was merely a temporary visitor.
Chi Yizhen was like a mystery.
In this moment, He Tiao’s curiosity was ignited, as if he was on a quest to unveil a non-player character with absolutely no real information. He wanted to lift the veil of Chi Yizhen’s outer facade and see what was inside this person.
Whether it was genuine or an act didn’t matter; after all, it had just begun.
The camera in the live stream room had been turned off for the entire night, and as the day was breaking, it automatically turned back on.
Various team directors started checking on the condition of their artists.
In the first group, Li Zhenhe and Liu Rumen, the seasoned grassroots actress, and the musician, respectively, displayed a surprising scene. Early in the morning, Li Zhenhe, who had a senior citizen’s vibe, was practicing Tai Chi, while Liu Rumen was sprawled on the bed, with one hand hanging off the edge, and she continued to sleep soundly even after being kicked by Li Zhenhe.
In the second group, the husband and wife, who had a heated argument before going to bed, were now sleeping together on the same bed peacefully.
In the third group…
The directors were taken aback and started to question the situation. What in the world was going on?
The viewers who had been waiting for the live stream to start were equally shocked. How could the two of you look even more like a couple than the married duo in the second group? Was it all an act?
[Wasn’t Chi Yizhen sleeping close to the wall last night?]
[Wow, this is like a scene from an idol drama. E-god is a great actor, and he’s actually hugging Chi Yizhen in his sleep!]
[He went from not allowing anyone to call him ‘husband’ to this affectionate sleep scene in just a day…]
[Who set the old house on fire? Chi Yizhen, you’re really something.]
The noises from outside, the children’s voices, and the discussions of the viewers started to wake Chi Yizhen. His head was still heavy with the intertwined scenes from his dreams.
Sheng Xin, who had no shame and was causing a scene in person, and the inexperienced rookie he had managed to charm – was this the mysterious power of the first “something”?
It’s made me unable to forget it as well.
Chi Yizhen was still trying to process his thoughts when he slowly opened his eyes. While doing so, he pondered, “The inexperienced rookie is recording a show with me right now.”
Wait, recording a show?
He suddenly looked up and realized he was nestled tightly in He Tiao’s arms. Due to the abrupt movement, he accidentally bumped into He Tiao’s chin.
In his half-awake state, He Tiao muttered, “Stop messing around.”
Chi Yizhen’s heart chilled when he noticed a red light in the corner of the room – a camera.
Oh no, did I do something inappropriate? When did the broadcast start?
