Chi Yizhen didn’t have much of an appetite, but after a tiring day, as soon as he relaxed, his whole body felt weak. Plus, having vomited earlier, he couldn’t eat much.
When he and He Tiao went back, he didn’t bother hiding it anymore. He leaned on He Tiao, perfectly embodying the clingy nature of a couple deeply in love.
It was mainly because He Tiao looked good. Otherwise, given Chi Yizhen’s height, it would have been a bit difficult to lean on someone who wouldn’t fall over.
In the world of the book, same-sex marriage was acceptable, so even though Chi Yizhen casually leaning on He Tiao was an open display of a male same-sex relationship, no one found it strange.
He Tiao was actually quite uncomfortable. After all, this was an office area, and it happened to be the end of the workday, with people coming and going downstairs.
The production team wasn’t too conspicuous, and with the recent severe flu season, many office workers were wearing masks, making them even more noticeable when the camera focused on them.
But He Tiao didn’t have the heart to push Chi Yizhen away. Just calling himself “husband” was embarrassing enough, and he hadn’t said a word since then.
Chi Yizhen was pressed against him, almost all of his weight on He Tiao.
Chi Yizhen: “Cousin, don’t be shy. We’re living together, so there’s nothing wrong with calling yourself my husband.”
His straightforwardness made He Tiao feel a bit ashamed.
Chi Yizhen: “If you find it awkward to call me your cousin, you can call me your cousin-sister.”
They stood in the twilight, waiting for a car. Chi Yizhen didn’t want to squeeze into the subway again, choosing to indulge in the luxury of taking a taxi with his generous daily earnings.
Of course, they wouldn’t go directly home; that would be too expensive. Chi Yizhen planned to take a taxi to the transfer station, where it wasn’t the peak hours, and it wouldn’t be as crowded.
His collar still held a microphone that the program team had supplied them in the dressing room because of their messing around. Due to the close recording, the audience of the program almost felt like Chi Yizhen was saying these words right into their ears.
But ironically, he was saying it right into He Tiao’s ear.
[What is this ‘cousin-sister’ thing? Who would call themselves cousin-sister!! The problem is, with Chi Yizhen acting like this, I totally don’t get a gay vibe from him hahaha!!]
[He Tiao’s expression has me laughing. How satisfied are the players of Star Trail’s games right now!]
[I’m very satisfied as a player. The high-and-mighty E-God in the live show is being played with by his wife…]
[Chi Yizhen is really entertaining. I hope he quickly becomes popular! And it seems like he’s a decent actor too. Although you can’t tell much from the photos, his expressions and gaze are changing. Is this the experience of an actor? Sob sob, from a naive young master to a working person now.]
[Is this your safe word, may I ask…]
He Tiao frowned, “No, you’re a guy.”
Chi Yizhen: “Come on, then I’ll call you my wife.”
He Tiao: “No.”
Chi Yizhen was already close to He Tiao. At this moment, he quickly reached out, pinching He Tiao’s chin, forcing him to lower his head.
Chi Yizhen: “Cousin, you keep rejecting me.”
Being a person with many facets, perhaps tired from today’s exhaustion, even if he adjusted his inherent problems, there were still lingering effects, such as the feeling of nausea.
The next moment, Chi Yizhen turned his face away, patted his chest, and exhaled.
He Tiao: “Are you still feeling uncomfortable?”
Chi Yizhen: “It’s because you rejected me.”
He Tiao sincerely replied, “I really can’t say it.”
[Laughing so hard, if you didn’t know, you’d think they were a newlywed couple teasing each other on the street.]
[If Chi Yizhen weren’t a guy, I’d think he was pregnant… His condition during the photoshoot really doesn’t seem good.]
[Sob sob, the subconscious tension is really killing me.
[The way Chi Yizhen looked when he pinched the chin… really intense…]
[Stop the pushing and pulling, if you keep it up, take it to the bedroom.]
Chi Yizhen took another sip of water, and the car arrived just in time. They took the car to the transfer station.
He Tiao’s street stall and the subway station closest to their apartment were still two stops away. Chi Yizhen asked, “Are you going back? It’s dark, and it’s time to set up the stall.”
Seeing his pale lips with little blood, He Tiao felt increasingly convinced that Chi Yizhen’s statement about not wanting to shoot was genuine.
However, there were many things that couldn’t be explicitly stated on the show. He shook his head, “I’ll take you back first.”
Chi Yizhen said, “No need, I can go back by myself. I just need a good sleep.”
He Tiao was stubborn, shaking his head.
Chi Yizhen, too tired to move, said, “Do as you wish.”
The subway wasn’t many stops away, but there weren’t many available seats. Chi Yizhen stood in a corner, and He Tiao stood next to him, afraid that people getting on and off might knock him down.
They were very close to each other, and the camera was very close as well.
The production team’s staff were professional and dedicated, presenting the live audience with a perfectly executed first-person perspective.
It made the audience feel like they were passengers in the subway car.
Standing next to the handrail was a couple. The shorter one seemed drowsy, leaning to the side and easily swaying. Eventually, they even stumbled into the arms of their boyfriend.
Just as Chi Yizhen was about to apologize, He Tiao said, “I’ll got you.”
The subway roared by. The intervals between each station on this route were quite long. Even as the billboards in the tunnel flashed by, it was enough for people to clearly see the celebrity on them.
It was a cosmetics advertisement featuring You Yuxing.
A meticulously retouched image with a very standard closed-mouth smile.
He Tiao looked at it and then glanced down at Chi Yizhen leaning against him.
Although he couldn’t see the entire face, it was enough for He Tiao to make a comparison.
He Tiao had never paid attention to the entertainment industry before, and even now, the gaming company had no plans to use celebrities as endorsements. Occasionally, he would hear about recent popular movies and gossip during breaks when the higher-ups discussed them.
You Yuxing was a male celebrity frequently trending on hot searches. He Tiao couldn’t recall any of his notable works, but he had a vague impression of always seeing You Yuxing around.
Is he really popular?
A quick search revealed that he was indeed a top-tier star.
The reviews were flooded with seemingly robotic positive comments, and his page was filled with business cooperation announcements. However, many anonymous comments criticized You Yuxing’s recent interviews for not being as good as before, and his performance in variety shows seemed lackluster, as if the previous positive reviews were all fake.
The contrast was so stark, as if the protagonist’s halo had disappeared.
Even the face that received so much praise couldn’t compare to the one currently nestled in He Tiao’s arms.
Expressionless, He Tiao stared out of the subway car window, projecting an air of seriousness that seemed to intimidate the audience in the live stream room, completely erasing the earlier sense of innocence.
