The six major beacons are all named after minerals, and noble families even name their children after these minerals. Shavri is one of them.
The main energy source that humans can obtain comes from the energy crystal flow extracted from the sea, which is filtered and processed before being delivered to various beacons.
When a person’s ability to create value does not match the resources they consume, they lose the right to continue enjoying a comfortable life.
The royal family, living the most luxurious life, has always been responsible for the system repair and balance of the six major beacons, gathering all of humanity’s strength to resist the primordial creatures.
Shavri’s expertise in computer and network systems comes from this; he was required to learn complex computer knowledge from a young age.
Fortunately, the Crown Prince himself was very interested in these things and didn’t mind, writing his first complete code at the age of five.
In short, this is a world ruled by programmers.
Chen Nian looked at Shavri, who was manually driving, his gaze fixed ahead, calm and composed. His violet eyes appeared even deeper in the night. Perhaps Shavri’s obsession with the game world inside the neural adapter was not a coincidence.
They soon arrived at their destination, and Shavri parked in a nearby underground parking lot. The two took the elevator up, first reaching the shopping mall above.
After spending a few days in the palace, Chen Nian had become immune to these large shopping malls; no matter how spacious and bright they were, they couldn’t compare to the palace. Instead, he was more curious about the night market on the top floor and how it differed from the underground city.
Exiting the mall, the street next to it was the night market. Shavri didn’t change his appearance in advance or take any form of disguise; he boldly led Chen Nian into the street.
The young Alpha’s tall figure, light-colored curly hair, and rare eye color were so eye-catching, not to mention he was accompanied by an incredibly exquisite and beautiful Omega boy, who could rival virtual modeling stars.
The boy looked like a saint holding an innocent lamb, stepping out of a classical oil painting. He had fluffy, soft black hair, a delicate face, and lively eyes.
As he looked up at the neon signs hanging above the street, his long neck arched gracefully, and the small Adam’s apple was accentuated by the black neck ring, making one want to reach out and hook that leather ring with their fingertips.
Even though he knew that any impure thoughts were unforgivable sins, he couldn’t help but feel a stir of unknown desires.
Everyone passing by couldn’t help but turn their heads for a few more glances. Such a pleasing sight brightened their moods.
Shavri’s hair and eye color were the standard for the current royal family. Many passersby recognized his identity but politely kept their distance, not daring to disturb him.
Although they didn’t know why the esteemed Crown Prince suddenly appeared at the night market, the boy beside him, who was curiously observing everything, must be the elusive Prince Consort.
Previously, even during the royal parade, the Prince Consort had remained inside the car, not even lifting the curtain.
Now, they were seeing his true face at the night market! The crowd stirred slightly, and many vendors stood up, hoping their goods would catch the Prince Consort’s eye.
Shavri’s mental energy spread out, always aware of the movements around them; any unusual activity couldn’t escape the Alpha’s perception.
Chen Nian had long been used to being the center of attention, whether in the chaotic underground city or the luxurious banquet halls; he was always the most dazzling presence.
He calmly accepted the various gazes, whether they were filled with ulterior motives or pure admiration; to Chen Nian, there wasn’t much difference.
The night market indeed had many novel little trinkets. Chen Nian hadn’t walked far before he was captivated by the items at a stall, slowing his pace.
Shavri stopped and said to Chen Nian, “Be careful not to get lost.”
Chen Nian responded with a hum, still focused on the stall. Instinctively, he raised his hand to tug at Shavri’s sleeve, only to realize that this person was his husband, not some other Alpha he could casually act cute with, so he put his hand down.
The stall owner was a young girl selling small dolls made of wool felt, along with many paintings made from dyed plant leaves, each crafted with artistic detail.
Shavri asked, “Do you like them?”
Chen Nian nodded, finally able to say the phrase he had heard years ago from a TV show: “I want all of these, please wrap them up.”
The stall owner immediately began to pack with joy; she had quite a few items on her stall.
After browsing for about ten minutes, Shavri noticed how long Chen Nian lingered at different stalls and realized that Chen Nian preferred more artistic items, especially various paintings.
He recalled the morning they went to the botanical garden, where Chen Nian was captivated by the numerous plant illustrations on the wall and had made plans with Ji Yifeng to come back and learn when they had time.
The shop windows displayed the trendiest items of the season. As a child, Chen Nian often pressed his face against the glass to look, knowing his family couldn’t afford anything, not even stepping inside the store, just satisfying his eyes from the outside.
But now, no matter what Chen Nian wanted, he only needed to point, and the vendors would be eager to have the Prince Consort notice them. Anything he chose would be sent directly to the palace, along with many similar items.
Chen Nian couldn’t help but sigh. Chen Ci had spent eighteen years on the top floor; he could have lived more freely and enjoyed such a fulfilling life, yet he had developed a silent and reticent personality. He clearly didn’t need to be a lettuce princess in the White Tower.
Ahead was a jewelry store. Chen Nian walked up the steps, and the owner immediately opened the door for him.
The staff placed a sign at the entrance, prohibiting other customers from entering; the entire store was dedicated to serving the Crown Prince and the Prince Consort.
Chen Nian was just looking; he didn’t really want to buy anything, as the palace had all kinds of jewelry. He browsed through the diamonds, gold, silver, amber, and jade in the display cases, stopping in front of a showcase exhibiting other gemstones.
Among the dazzling array of colorful gems reflecting brilliant light, Chen Nian’s gaze was drawn to a vibrant green stone.
The gem, cut in a step-cut emerald style, was bright and eye-catching, clear and pure, with a high saturation of green that instantly caught one’s attention.
As Chen Nian slightly shifted his body, the reflections at different angles presented subtle changes, reminding him of the world inside a kaleidoscope.
“How beautiful, what is this?” Chen Nian asked.
The store manager, who was specifically attending to them, wisely remained silent, quietly glancing at the Crown Prince beside him, a smile he couldn’t hide on his lips.
Shavri’s hand resting on the counter tightened silently. He was silent for a few seconds before softly saying, “Shavri.”
“What?” Chen Nian glanced at him and found that the Alpha’s face had turned an astonishing shade of red, the unusual blush particularly noticeable under the bright lights of the jewelry counter.
“Shavri, a gem discovered in Kenya’s national park in the late 1960s.”
The Crown Prince took the Shavri stone, cradled in velvet, from the manager and introduced it to Chen Nian, “In the local language, this word means ‘come with me.'”
The manager timely added, “This has always been the wildest and most rebellious treasure in the jewelry market, filled with a romantic spirit. Due to its unique beauty, it is hailed as the ‘Saint of Gems,’ symbolizing truth and purity.”
Chen Nian understood.
Shavri shifted his weight from his left foot to his right, biting his lip, and the thin layer of blush showed no signs of fading; instead, it deepened.
Chen Nian looked at him with a hint of teasing in his eyes. “Truth and purity” were indeed quite fitting.
He had never thought that the Crown Prince, surrounded by many admirers, was actually a gaming nerd who kept his distance from Omega.
“Please send this to the palace.”
Chen Nian made his decision. Upon hearing what he wanted, Shavri turned his face away, leaving only the tip of his ear red.
Chen Nian didn’t intentionally tease him; after all, Shavri was his husband, and he wasn’t that cruel to mess with his own brother.
He genuinely thought the gem was beautiful, its clear emerald green reminding him of vast grasslands, carrying an ancient mysterious aura.
After taking another look around, Chen Nian left the jewelry store amidst the enthusiastic send-off from the staff.
While the owner was delighted, he was also troubled. The jewelry chosen by the Prince Consort would surely become a hot item in the future, and he wanted to use it as a promotional highlight.
But the Prince Consort had chosen the Shavri stone, which itself carried a hint of couple’s intimacy, and it was also the Crown Prince’s name. How should he handle it to make it more appropriate?
“Don’t overthink it; I have no other intentions.” Chen Nian thought for a moment and felt it was better to clarify with Shavri, “It’s just because it looks nice.”
“I know.” Shavri nodded slightly, just like back in the cramped carriage when Chen Nian whispered, “You’re so sweet.” He believed it was just the boy stating a simple fact.
He shouldn’t think too much.
Compared to the night market in the underground city, this place was more formal, with clean and tidy streets.
Chen Nian continued to browse, with Shavri accompanying him. Suddenly, he heard a surprised female voice from diagonally ahead: “Your Highness?”
Shavri looked up to see the young daughter of the Alberg family, Weima Alberg, walking on the other side with friends.
She hadn’t expected to run into the Crown Prince while out shopping, and in an instant, she straightened her body, displaying her best posture, shyly smiling, “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
How wonderful! She had just done her makeup for a new research project!
“Good evening.” Shavri politely responded.
Chen Nian, who was examining items at a stall, heard the voice and looked over. It was then that Weima noticed there was another person beside Shavri.
She froze for a moment, quickly recognizing this was the Prince Consort she had met at the royal banquet.
The Crown Prince… was actually out with the Prince Consort!?
Weima’s heart raced, feeling as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, calming her down significantly.
Chen Nian’s gaze was calm, and under the watch of those amber eyes, Weima instinctively held her breath.
The royal banquet had passed a long time ago, and the stunning boy before her instantly evoked memories of that event, where noble ladies and gentlemen gathered, whispering in jealousy or admiration about the Prince Consort’s first public appearance.
Everyone tried to find something in his behavior that was inappropriate, to prove that the sheltered Chen Ci was not the most suitable Omega for the Crown Prince, yet no one dared to comment on his looks.
Even Weima, as an Omega, couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, thinking how beautiful he was.
Suddenly, she felt her own makeup wasn’t that pretty anymore.
Meanwhile, Chen Nian sighed inwardly.
To encounter an Omega with ulterior motives while walking down the street, could Shavri really uphold some male decorum? How could he face his brother like this?
