Chapter 103.1

Fantuan and Doubao woke up and went home while holding each other’s hands as usual, but when they arrived, they found the front door of their house locked. No matter how hard they knocked, no one answered. It meant that their dad, mommy, and grandma were all missing! The two brothers stood at the door, crying their hearts out.

Zhang Hongtu and Zhuzi were getting ready in the bathroom, while Yali, who was preparing breakfast in the kitchen, rushed out when she heard the cries of the two boys.

Yali squatted down, holding one in each hand. “Fantuan, Xiao Doubao, don’t cry. Your mommy is going to give birth, so your dad and grandma are accompanying her to the hospital. They’ll be back soon. Let’s go home, have breakfast, and then go to school. You’ll see them when you come back from school.”

Fantuan and Doubao forgot to cry, and Fantuan asked, “Dad, did Mommy have two babies in her belly?”

Han Cheng nodded and said, “Yes, in the future, we will have Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao in our family. Both the little brother and sister are here. Mommy is waiting for Dad to bring breakfast. Let’s go back to our house first.”

Yali said, “I’ve already prepared breakfast. After you freshen up, come over and eat. The fire is still on, and I’ll make some ginger egg wine for you. Your stove is cold, and waiting for it to heat up takes too long.”

Han Cheng didn’t refuse her kindness and said, “I have a lot of eggs, old ginger, and yellow wine at home. If it’s not a bother, could you help me cook it?”

The father and sons quickly had breakfast at Yali’s house. Han Cheng took the ginger egg wine and prepared to go to the hospital. Yali also said, “She had just given birth recently, and giving birth to your little brother and sister is hard. She must be tired and needs to rest well, so she can’t be disturbed at all. If you want to do what’s best for Mommy, you need to be obedient.”

It’s rare to see twins in the military hospital, especially twins born on Chinese Valentine’s Day. Everyone wanted to share in the joy of Han Cheng’s family, and there was a crowd of people outside the door who wanted to see the twins.

When they returned home, it was lunchtime. Xiao Zhuzi and Fantuan brought Xiao Doubao back from school.

The clever Fantuan noticed that smoke was rising from their kitchen chimney, so he grabbed Xiao Doubao and exclaimed, “Xiao Doubao, hurry up! Mommy and our little brother and sister might be back!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Doubao’s big eyes lit up, and he let go of his brother’s hand and rushed into the house with his little legs.

Fantuan had initially wanted to announce his arrival in the usual loud manner but remembered his dad’s words about not disturbing Mommy and his little brother and sister. He swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue and reminded Xiao Zhuzi and Xiao Doubao not to make noise.

They entered the house without glancing around and went straight into their Mommy’s room. As expected, they found their mommy lying in bed, with two small babies wrapped in a swaddle blanket beside her.

A few little kids wanted to go in and see but were pulled back by Han Cheng, who said in a stern tone, “Let’s go outside first.”

The cubs were obedient and followed their father to the yard.

Han Cheng: “Don’t disturb them, let them rest properly. We can see them once they wake up.”

Fantuan said, “But I want to see Mommy and my little siblings.”

Han Cheng ruffled his hair and said, “As the big brother, you should set an example. Your Mommy is very tired right now. Let them rest for a while, alright? In the future too, when Mommy and your little siblings are resting, don’t disturb them, okay?”

The cubs could only nod and reluctantly agree, “Okay.”
