Zhuzi went home to have lunch and reminded Fantuan to call him when Aunt Su, Xiao Tangyuan, and Xiao Roubao woke up.

The whole family then entered a silent mode, speaking and walking softly.

When their grandma was preparing lunch, the room where Su Xiaoxiao was with the babies suddenly filled with loud, ear-piercing cries, scaring Fantuan and Xiao Doubao.

The two brothers exchanged a glance, and their eyes lit up—Mom Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao were awake!

They were about to rush in but were stopped by Han Cheng, who held onto their collars.

This time, Fantuan protested, “Dad, Xiao Tangyuan, and Xiao Roubao are awake. Why can’t we go in to see them?”

Han Cheng said, “Your Mommy is breastfeeding. We can go in once she’s done. This will be the rule from now on—only go in when Mom calls for you, alright?”

Although the children were young, Han Cheng hoped to instill this habit in them to give Su Xiaoxiao some privacy while she was feeding.

Fantuan’s cheeks puffed up like a small pufferfish. “Dad, you’ve changed! Why are there so many rules now? Do you want to keep Mom and Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao to yourself and not let us see them on purpose?”

When Mommy and Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao had been back for half a day, he and Xiao Doubao hadn’t even seen them yet!

Li Yufeng brought over the food and said, “It’s not that your dad has too many rules; it’s just how it’s supposed to be. Fantuan and Xiao Doubao are boys, and they should give some space to women when they’re breastfeeding, or else it might make them uncomfortable. Your mom is the same.”

Although Fantuan and Xiao Doubao didn’t understand why they had to give space, they reluctantly believed their grandmother, as she had explained it.

When Han Cheng went inside, Xiao Fantuan became uneasy. “Grandma, why doesn’t Dad have to avoid it too? He’s also a boy.”

Li Yufeng gave Han Cheng a look. ‘Your son is too smart, you can solve it yourself.’

Han Cheng ignored Fantuan and turned to lock the room.

Fantuan looked at them for a while but couldn’t tell who was Xiao Tangyuan and who was Xiao Roubao. “Mom, Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao look exactly the same. How do we know who is who?”

Xiao Doubao pointed to the one with a slightly bigger cheek on the left and said, “This is Xiao Doubao’s little brother, Xiao Roubao!”

Then he pointed to the one with a smaller cheek on the right and said, “This one is my sister, Xiao Tangyuan!”

His tone was very confident.

Su Xiaoxiao found it quite amazing; she couldn’t tell them apart at first, but Xiao Doubao managed to do it with just one glance. She asked him, “How did Xiao Doubao know?”

Xiao Doubao blinked his big eyes and carefully looked at the two babies, saying with great certainty, “Xiao Roubao looks like Daddy, Xiao Tangyuan is like Mommy, and Xiao Doubao likes them both!”

Originally, Xiao Doubao really wanted a little brother, but now that he found out his little sister looks like his Mommy, he spontaneously decided to like her as well!

Xiao Fantuan looked carefully from left to right, from top to bottom, and could not see the difference between the two babies. It was clear that they were exactly the same!

Li Yufeng found it quite amazing and said, “Xiao Doubao, you are really incredible. Even your own mom couldn’t tell them apart at first.”

In reality, it’s hard to tell them apart if you don’t look closely. Even for babies who are not twins, it’s challenging to distinguish them right after they are born. Otherwise, why would hospitals occasionally make mistakes about which baby belongs to which parents?

Xiao Fantuan frowned and said, “They look exactly the same.”

Xiao Doubao insisted, “They are not the same!”

Xiao Zhuzi didn’t wait for Fantuan to call him but came over when he heard the babies crying. Yali stopped him and said to wait for Aunt Su to finish feeding them.

So, he obediently ate his lunch and came over when he finished eating. He didn’t come empty-handed. He had two silver bracelets with small bells in his pocket, one tied with a red string and the other with two red strings.

Xiao Zhuzi looked at the two cute little babies, and he didn’t dare to even breathe loudly. He asked the same question as Fantuan, “Who is Xiao Roubao, and who is Xiao Tangyuan?”

Fantuan found an ally and immediately said, “See, even Xiao Zhuzi can’t tell. Xiao Doubao must be making it up, right?”

Xiao Doubao shook his head and said, “I just know!” He then pointed to Zhuzi.

Zhuzi took out two small silver bracelets from his pocket and tied a red string bracelet onto Xiao Roubao’s hand.

Xiao Zhuzi quickly put the other bracelet with two red strings on Xiao Tangyuan’s wrist and shook his head. “Aunt Su, these are bracelets my mom made for me when I was little, but I never had a chance to wear them. Now that I’ve grown up and don’t need them, I want to give them to Xiao Tangyuan and Xiao Roubao.”

“Aunt Su, look, the baby with only one red string, is my little Brother Xiao Roubao, and with two red strings, it is my little sister Xiao Tangyuan. This way, it will be easy to distinguish them, and Xiao Fantuan won’t get confused anymore.”

In fact, Xiao Zhuzi didn’t need to look at the bracelets to distinguish them. He could even tell from the crying next door whether it was Xiao Roubao crying or Xiao Tangyuan crying.

At first, Su Xiaoxiao was worried that Zhuzi would get used to their democratic life and not adapt to it when she returned to Yali’s family. It seems that her worries are unnecessary, as Yali is even better at teaching children than she thought.

Zhang Hongtu is the same. He exercises with the kids every morning, and she has seen him squatting down to speak to them at eye level and following them discreetly to school.

Xiao Zhuzi gave a shy smile and shook his head. “No need to thank me.”

He gently touched Xiao Tangyuan’s little hand with his eyes narrowed. “It’s the first time we met. Nice to meet you, Xiao Tangyuan. I’m your big brother, Xiao Zhuzi.”

Unfortunately, the soundly sleeping Xiao Tangyuan couldn’t hear his words.
