Chapter 99 – The Umbrella Favor
Hearing Xu Jian yelling Dad, Qin Chen was startled for a moment and subconsciously raised his eyes.
The man holding the umbrella looks like he’s in his 30s. His stature was similar to Xu Jian now, with a pair of glasses on the bridge of his nose, and his whole body exudes a scholarly air, refined and elegant.
Taking a closer look, his appearance is indeed somewhat similar to Xu Jian.
The man couldn’t hear Xu Jian’s voice, he hurriedly walked toward Jiang Linxie.
Xu Jian didn’t expect to see his Father Xu again. The bridge of his nose was sour, his eyes were red and covered with a layer of mist, and his legs walked towards Xu Yun uncontrollably.
Sensing Xu Jian’s mood swings, Qin Chen raised his arm and wrapped his shoulder, gently patting him to show comfort.
The two of them now understand that what they are seeing now should be a scene that has really happened before.
Xu Yun, who was unaware of Qin Chen and Xu Jian’s existence, walked over to Jiang Linxie and tilted the umbrella in his hand towards him.
Jiang Linxie looked up and saw Xu Yun, obviously stunned, “You…”
Xu Yun’s tone was a bit urgent, “It’s raining so hard, sir, you’ll get sick like this.”
After speaking, Xu Yun stuffed the umbrella in his hand to Jiang Linxie, “This umbrella is for you.”
Jiang Linxie first looked at the umbrella, then at Xu Yun, his eyes were surprised, “You can see me?”
Xu Yun smiled after hearing this, “It’s raining heavily today, so I can’t see the road clearly. You should also slow down, sir.”
Without waiting for Jiang Linxie to say anything else, Xu Yun said, “My wife is still waiting in the car.” Then ran out from under his umbrella in the rain and headed to a car parked on the side of the road.
Xu Jian’s gaze followed Xu Yun. After seeing the car, he subconsciously took two steps forward—his mother was also in the car…
However, the windows were closed tightly because of the rain. Xu Jian only vaguely saw a person sitting on the passenger side alone when his father opened the door, but he couldn’t see her clearly.
Xu Jian went closer and heard his mother’s gentle inquiry from inside the car, “Did you send out the umbrella? The Mister doesn’t even know you, yet you rushed up to send the umbrella. Don’t scare people.”
“I sent it, it’s raining too much. He’ll definitely get sick from the rain.”
While talking, Xu Yun had already started the car, drove into the rain, and gradually went away; and Xu Jian, who wanted to follow again, was left far behind the car.
Unable to catch up with the car, Xu Jian’s heart was anxious. Let him look again, just a glance…
Qin Chen pulled Xu Jian’s arm, after he turned his head and looked over his gaze, his heart was soft and sour, but he had to remind, “Xiao Jian, we can’t catch up.”
If he thought correctly, this scene should be what happened on the day of Xu Jian’s parents’ car accident.
Seeing Xu Jian’s expression, Qin Chen knew that he knew exactly what would happen next.
Xu Jian couldn’t catch up with Xu Jian’s car, and Qin Chen didn’t want him to witness the death of his parents.
After hearing Qin Chen’s words, Xu Jian’s body stiffened. The initial joy of seeing his parents in his eyes instantly faded, and his heart slowly went cold.
Yes ah, he can’t catch up.
Xu Jian turned around slowly and looked at Jiang Linxie.
Before Xu Yun sent the umbrella, Jiang Linxie had been drenched in the heavy rain for a while now, but the whole body was the same as the twoXJ and QC, none of them were soaked. There seemed to be a layer of invisible barrier all over him, separating him from the downpour.
Jiang Linxie, holding the black umbrella, looked in the direction of Xu Yun’s car for a few seconds, then his fingers loosened, and the black umbrella in his hand disappeared out of thin air.
After receiving the umbrella, Jiang Linxie retracted his gaze, and lifted his steps to continue walking forward.
However, before Jiang Linxie had taken a few steps, Xu Jian and Qin Chen suddenly heard the shrill sound of tires rubbing against the ground.
His heart contracted. Xu Jian jerked his head to look back, holding Qin Chen’s hand hard unconsciously.
Jiang Linxie’s footsteps also paused. Listening to the flared-up people’s voices in the distance, he looked up at the gray sky. After a few seconds, he sighed inaudibly, turned his feet, and turned around and walked in theirParents Xu direction.
The scene of the accident was full of people standing around, some people called the police, but looking at the deformed car and the blood on the ground, no one dared to step forward. A little girl at the side was crying and was almost out of breath.
The scene in front of him was too tragic, and Qin Chen, who came with Jiang Linxie, covered Xu Jian’s eyes momentarily.
Xu Jian gritted his teeth and didn’t struggle.
Jiang Linxie with long silver-white hair slowly walked to the deformed car. Xu Yun’s eyes were drooping and his face was full of blood. Unable to tell what emotions were in his eyes, he repeated his question just now, “Why can you see me?”
Not counting Xu Jian and Qin Chen, there were so many people at the scene and only Xu Yun found Jiang Linxie.
Xu Yun, who was severely injured, looked at Jiang Linxie as if he had grabbed his lifeline, and spoke with difficulty, “M, my wife… p-please, you, s-save her…”
Jiang Linxie swept a glance at the co-pilot, and without the slightest fluctuation in his eyes, he stated facts, “She’s dead.”
After listening to Jiang Linxie’s words, Xu Yun’s eyes suddenly widened. The airbag and seat were firmly against his neck, wanting to turn his head to look at his wife.
Under the huge impact, Xu Yun himself was also seriously injured and he was at the end of the fight. Seeing how much he was out of breath, he simply waited for the police and ambulance to arrive.
Xu Yun was struggling with severe pain and wanted to turn his head to look at his wife in the passenger’s seat. Jiang Linxie stared at him for a few seconds and there were no waves in his eyes.
Jiang Linxie bit his finger, wiped his finger on Xu Yun’s lips with blood beads, and said in a low voice, “Pay you back with the umbrella favor. Whether you can live in the end depends on your own Nature. The natural world”
Jiang Linxie’s blood disappeared immediately after touching Xu Yun. Xu Yun’s originally ashen face was much better to the naked eye, but the other also fainted as a result.
Jiang Linxie stood by the side until the ambulance arrived. When Xu Yun, who was unconscious, was pulled into the ambulance and roared away, he also disappeared on the spot.
Qin Chen frowned at the scene in front of him. It turned out that the death of Xiao Jian’s parents had nothing to do with Jiang Linxie.
Then the scene turned. When Qin Chen let go of the hand covering Xu Jian’s eyes, Xu Jian found himself standing in the hospital ward, while his father, Xu Yun, was lying pale on the hospital bed.
Looking at Xu Yun, who was covered in various tubes and connected to various instruments, Xu Jian’s eyes were red and tears welled up in his eyes.
The ward was very quiet, except for Xu Yun, who was lying on his back, there were only Qin Chen and Xu Jian.
Although his father can’t see him now, Xu Jian also has a bellyful of words to say to him, so Qin Chen whispered a few words of comfort and then went out first, leaving time for Xu Jian.
There were police, an inspector, and several doctors and nurses standing outside the ward. From their conversations, Qin Chen knew the real cause of Xu Jian’s parents’ accident.
The cause of the accident was the same as Jiang Linxie had told them before. The only difference was that Xu Yun didn’t save Jiang Linxie who was riding a bicycle, but a little girl.
It was the little girl who was so scared that she couldn’t breathe when she was at the scene.
One of the policewomen sighed, “Look at the surveillance, the situation was critical at that time. If it weren’t for the husband and wife, the little girl would now be the ghost under the wheels of the out-of-control car.”
The doctor also sighed, frowned, and shook his head, “It’s a pity that good people aren’t rewarded. His condition isn’t optimistic. He was injured quite badly and suffered a lot of bleeding. It’s a miracle that he can hold up until now.”
After talking about Xu Yun’s condition and follow-up treatment, the doctor pushed the door in, and Qin Chen followed them into the ward. However, as soon as he entered, the layout of the ward distorted, and then he and Xu Jian dissipated a little in front.
When Xu Jian and Qin Chen recovered, their environment changed. They were standing on the highway at this time.
Xu Jian hadn’t come out of the emotions of seeing his parents and didn’t react for a while, “Where’s this?”
Qin Chen frowned and shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Xu Jian’s question was quickly answered. In front of them, a black car accelerated towards the front of the truck, and the two cars collided, issuing a loud ‘bang’ noise.
Looking at the scene in front of him, Xu Jian, who was rather slow, reacted in hindsight and was astonished, “This is the black car I was in when I had the accident!”
Qin Chen was shocked, “The one in the car?”
Xu Jian pulled Qin Chen and walked over quickly. He bent over to look inside the car through the broken glass window. He saw a steel pipe pierced in his chest, covered in blood, and the person who fell on the passenger seat was none other than him.
Looking at Xu Jian, who was covered in blood with his eyes closed in the car, Qin Chen’s heart thumped fiercely and he felt a sense of suffocation.
This scene is too real, as if Xu Jian was really lying there at this time, which made Qin Chen feel palpitations for a while. Only Xu Jian’s hand, which was tightly held, could make him feel a little relieved.
Unlike Qin Chen, who was uneasy and afraid, Xu Jian looked at himself from this perspective and felt wonderful as if he was looking at someone who looked exactly like him.
What happened in front of them really happened, but Qin Chen felt pain in his heart when he looked at the steel pipe on Xu Jian’s chest like this, and he almost couldn’t breathe.
Seeing that Qin Chen’s expression was wrong, Xu Jian reacted that this scene in front of him was too exciting for Qin Chen, so he quickly pulled him away to no longer look, “Don’t look.”
Thinking about it in another way, if he saw Qin Chen lying there covered in blood, he wouldn’t be able to accept it.
Qin Chen felt chills in his heart, and a cold sweat broke out on his back. He stared at Xu Jian for a long time before finally asking with distress in his eyes, “Does it hurt a lot?”
Xu Jian hurriedly smiled at him, “No, it doesn’t hurt, I’m unconscious.”
The pain is really painful, but it’s also true that he’s unconscious. If it weren’t for seeing it today, Xu Jian wouldn’t even know that he had such a big tube pierced in his chest at that time.
Thinking of this, Xu Jian subconsciously raised his hand to touch it and wondered, “No ah, why don’t I have scars on my body?”
Could it be that even the scars have disappeared after becoming a cat?
Without waiting for Qin Chen to answer, Xu Jian’s eyes lit up again, “Next is, will we know the truth about me becoming a cat?”
After hearing his words, Qin Chen turned to look at the truck driver who looked panicked and began to call the police, and he replied in a deep voice, “Next, we just have to wait for Jiang Linxie to show up.”
As soon as Qin Chen’s words fell, the truck driver froze as if the pause button was pressed. In the next second, Jiang Linxie appeared in front of the two.
Unlike when he saw Xu Yun’s car accident, Jiang Linxie’s lips were pursed into a straight line and his expression was very ugly.
Next, Qin Chen and Xu Jian were like bystanders, watching Jiang Linxie move Xu Jian out of the car with a wave of his hand and lay him flat on the ground. At this time, Xu Jian’s chest didn’t fluctuate at all, looking no different from death.
Jiang Linxie frowned to probe Xu Jian’s breath. After discovering that he only had his last breath left, he cut his wrist neatly and pointed the wound at Xu Jian’s mouth…
A few minutes later, Jiang Linxie raised his finger and wiped his wrist, and the wound on his wrist instantly disappeared.
Xu Jian looked at the white cat on the ground incredulously, and it took a long time to find his voice.
“I… became a cat after drinking President Jiang’s blood?”
XJ: w-what, I became a cat from drinking President Jiang’s blood?
