Chapter 78

I couldn’t contain the presence of the evil god that gnawed on me. I was defeated in the face of the darkness that engulfed me. The stone statue of me was smashed, scattered into many stone fragments. 

Alaine was the one who gathered the fragments of mine and she was also the one who sealed the evil god that got released. 

But… Alaine also couldn’t contain the presence of the evil god that gnawed on her either. And so, she split the world into two. She split the world she originally lived in into two. The surface world and the bottom world. In the surface world there was the holy Alaine and in the bottom world there was the evil Alaine. She split the evil god into different worlds and herself in succession. 

The evil god, who only held a fraction of its original power, lost even more of its power after being split into two worlds. It was impossible for the evil god to interfere with Alaine in its state. 

However while that might be the case, the evil god wouldn’t give up easily. The evil god influenced Alaine’s mind, which was already unstable after separating the world and the evil god into two. The evil god then successfully cut itself off from Alaine.  

In addition to splitting herself into two worlds, Alaine also suffered a fatal damage to her memory and mind. The damage was so great that she ended up forgetting who she was. 

I was able to be resurrected again as a failed existence. I lost most of my power and memories as I was resurrected after being reduced as a shattered fragments of stone statue with little to no recollection of my original self. 

And then in that cave with an unknown source of light… I walked through the cave that connected the worlds and arrived at the open field where the gate to 9 different worlds laid. I barely managed to reach an opened gate, went inside and was resurrected in that world. A man who had forgotten about his own existence arrived in an unfamiliar land. 

And then, and then, and then…. That day came. I was reunited with Alaine again. In the bottom world that Alaine created. Alaine slowly regained herself again while coming in contact with me. The Alaine from the surface world and the Alaine from the bottom world became one once again. I also became one with the fragments of stone there. 

I was able to regain my original self. 

And right now, I was facing Alaine. 

I, who had regained my original self and Alaine, who had been swallowed by the evil god. 

“…….Phew…”

I took a deep breath and created numerous ritual tools in order to get ready for battle. 

Slowly….. You may prepare yourselves. Heroes. 

Heroes of the past. 

You will return to what you were in the past.

T/N: Feels like the last few chapters are filled with a lot of exposition but I’m glad now we can understand the principle of the world.
