Chapter 79

“Phew… Time to go, I guess.”

I slowly approached Alaine who had been reduced into an evil god. The Heavenly Sword that Alaine held. It was a sword that could be expanded. There was no limit to its range. Everything in this world was within its range. That was how Alaine was. 

In long distance combat, I was at tremendous disadvantages. I couldn’t do anything when she was brandishing that monstrous Heavenly Sword. 

A magician who’s losing at long distance combat against a knight? What do you mean by that?

I thought to myself. 

“Hmm… Then… Die.”

I….

“Aa…. Aaaa….”

“Tch.”

I summoned 10 magic swords after clicking my tongue once. Then I used those magic swords in order to forcibly change the trajectory of the Heavenly Sword that was coming onto me at great speed. 

My magic sword was specially made. It was not a cheap thing made to help activate magic. It was the crystallization of pure energy.  

By the way, that evil god is really using Alaine’s skill, huh. Aah, it makes me feel disgusted. 

“Ritual tools. Phantom Water Mirror.”

Water was being manipulated by me. I increased the number to 10 and shuffled each position in the transition. 

“Aaaa….”

It came in contact with the blade of the Heavenly Sword. The shortened Heavenly Sword then produced a flash of light. The Heavenly Sword slashed through 10 of my Phantom Water Mirror easily and in the middle of it…

“Come on now.”

I swung the magic sword in my hand to Alaine. From where? From the underground. Using the 10 Phantom Water Mirror as decoys, the real me had gone underground, hiding myself. 

“………..Aaa?”

It was a perfect surprise attack coming toward the evil god. 

“………Oaa….”

“Ugh!”

It was a perfect surprise attack that I was sure would reach the evil god’s heart but… I was taken by surprise in return. I was sure I was out of reach of the blade of the Heavenly Sword but the blade extended and curved in order to reach me. I was suddenly attacked in my defenseless part. The Heavenly Sword repelled by magic sword and kept on reaching toward me. 

It must’ve taken a great deal of power to forcefully bent the blade like that because the Heavenly Sword coming at me wasn’t as strong as usual. I was able to manipulate the magic swords floating in the air to forcefully block the attack.

“Tch. How did you learn how to pull off such strange acrobatic tricks?”

And then just like that, I clicked my tongue and created a distance between us again. 

“………..And here I thought I could end the battle with that attack.”

I muttered to myself as I prepared my magic sword. 

With this… I’ve failed to execute my plan to deal a decisive blow to end this battle. 

“I guess you don’t want our long awaited tryst to end so soon?”

It seemed I had to fight against it seriously and slowly. 

“Aaa….”

I prepared my magic sword again while feeling nauseated from hatred at the evil god who was using Alaine’s appearance and Alaine’s voice with no sign of intelligence to be seen as the evil god inclined its head to the side and muttering something unintelligible.
